  1. Links are normally canopy parts, not container parts. If I just happened to have a Sigma system with a Precision main that came to me used with Slinks what should I replace them with? Especially Slinks that are showing wear. No5 or No6 links? What does Precision ship them with when new? Thanks Ken Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 2. It's not stuck on the side flaps, you can clearly see that in the vid. The RPC is suppose to sit on top of the #1 flap which has a stiffener inside of it and serves as a launching plate and prevents the spring from sinking into , and possibly damaging the freebag and reserve. It is possible, but not likely that is was packed with the #1 flap under the freebag and the spring just sitting on top of the freebag, allowing it to be trapped in the valley formed by the molar shape of the bag. If so this would be a gross error. The other possibility is that somehow the closing loop is wrapped around the base of the bridle inhibiting but not preventing the RPC from leaving. Edit to say that Terry's scenario with the #1 flap on top is even more likely. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  3. In Gimli MB we have a 30 meter pea gravel bowl. The Canadian SarTechs do training jumps there and the government built it. It is wonderful for tandems except that my feet sometimes dig into the gravel and stop me before I can get under the pax. This thing is so large it's hard for me to find a pic of the whole thing, but here are a couple to give you an idea of the size. 4. FCS needs to be like Fight Club. Never talk about it to anyone. Otherwise it will become a victim of the evil "Nanny Staters". Whoever let this out of the bag better watch their back. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  5. Hmmmmm... You probably don`t remember the day you last packed it. But is it possible it was a wet day and it got put away damp? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  6. One is cheap plastic, one is billet aluminum. You get what you pay for. OP, be careful, have fun. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  7. Store your rig in a dry cool place. I've never seen this with stainless grommets, but I have a Diablo with melted tube stow stains. The bad news is that as far as I'm concerned the stains are permanent. The good news is that they don't seem to have weakened the nylon. 8. I'll butt in here. That's a little harsh. I respect Jeffca a lot. and katzas at least a little, even if he is a Pain in the Katzas at times. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  9. I think that the Vigil is the nicest built of all of them. But that M2 and CYPRES are both great products as well. As far as that magical intangible feeling of confidence that AADs provide, I have no strong opinions about any of them. As far as I can tell by looking at them and squeezing them, I still don't really know for sure, but I am assuming that all will work as advertised. YMMV If you are looking for a swoop option you should consider that the expert version of the M2 can be switched into speed mode. 10. I wouldn't allow it. It's been hashed over here before. Most TIs and DZs agree it's a bad idea. But there are some who encourage it and claim no problems so far. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  12. We use UPT risers on ours. Just ignore the brake setting loop. We only have one Eclipse plus one container for spare parts. Hope to retire it in the fall. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  13. Nude night jump. I did one on a solo pass at 3000' while everyone else went up. No lights at all. Stealth approach and landing in front of the spectators who had no idea I was coming. Drop the gear and trot off to my trailer. I've never met anyone else with a nude night jump. Anyone here? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 14. And if you are running Windows this shell extension is also free and simple. I also use and recommend Picassa, but for other editing chores. https://imageresizer.codeplex.com/ Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  15. DZs are not licensed to drop anything. They are approved to fly airplanes commercially. No license is required to run a DZ unless you are in a nanny state. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  16. You are far too superior with your British wit and insight for me to even begin to have an opinion in this matter. Sir, I beg of you to no longer waste your wisdom in this forum of your inferiors. Please, take your your gifts, your pearls far away from us, we are unworthy. +1 For some reason I have a particularly hard time with the w13/14 combined with a pdr176. Just can't make the pilot chute seat nicely. It's seems to be because of the need to stuff the material between the coils and the shallow valley. I can make it look real nice, but I end up with 30lbs of pull force and have to start over. And the combo is very popular here. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  18. Thanks Peter. That was an interesting read. Still wonder a little about even a short hesitation in an AAD fire situation though. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  19. I don't know if the man who knows is still following this thread, but here's a question I'm wondering about. The Skyhook lanyard is supposed to be held on by a single turn of seal thread. Twice lately I've opened rigs and found doubled (2 turns) of thread, which takes a lot more force to break by hand at least. I know this is a finely tuned system, how serious is this seemingly small error? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  20. The M2 battery is indeed rated to last 15 years or 15000 jumps. That is the lifetime of the unit as well. No scheduled maintenance is required. As always with AADs we will have to wait many years to see how well this all works out. They did have a SB out about a sensor problem in a series of earlier serial numbers. They replaced my unit with a new one although I had no problem with it. It's serial # was in the range of possibly affected units. I would not hesitate to go with the Glide. Although the product and company is new, the people behind it are among the most experienced and well regarded in the industry. They left one of the largest and best known manufacturers where they were key people in the company to start up Peregrine. There is little to fear in dealing with them. (I have no relationship with them beyond being a casual customer of Dolphin parts) Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  22. OK, in my opinion they would probably work well. Freefall and riding at high speed present similar needs in goggles. By filters I'm assuming you are asking about how dark they should be. If you are a student, your instructor would like to see your eyes. Other than that it would be your preference. I wear prescription glasses and if I still had a bike I would probably like these for riding. For jumping I just use ordinary glasses with a strap to make sure they stay in place, but few people would tolerate that much wind in their eyes. I still say Harleys are overrated and overpriced as well. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  23. Change the filter when you change the oil. Same on Harleys as on good bikes. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  24. This may be off topic. It's about the new PD BASE/Wingsuit canopy. I have no problem with them being in this market, they've been building BASE canopies for years for other companies. And BASE jumpers deserve quality products. But calling it "Proxy"? Really? Does the marketing department have no shame? Does proximity flying need more encouragement?
