I'd suggest a tailor shop, or clothing manufacturer that operates near you, or sending a request to a gear manufacturer or a large loft and asking nicely. (or post here and maybe one of the hundreds of riggers here can help you out!) Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

The canopy will have a serial #. If you can read it, just email Aerodyne and they can tell you the DOM. ZPX fabric is very easy to identify. If it shows the distinct honeycomb pattern it is ZPX. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Good luck finding that Bernina 217 for $650. Sometimes you can buy machines from people who don't know how to market them for cheap, but they are hard to find. I have a Reliable 20u model, and it works fine for me. I bought it used and saved a few bucks, but again, I looked for a long time locally. Get a machine and learn to use it. Get used to buying Chinese made machines. Back in the 60's and 70's when Japanese manufacturing was starting to be imported we all laughed. Now we all look for Japanese product from this era because we see it as higher quality. The 20u is a mass produced, relatively simple design that is very robust. BTW, the difference between the /53 and the /73 or the common older /33 models is simply the maximum width of the zigzag. The older Japanese ones are almost all /33 models. The European (Swiss and German) machines are definitely higher quality. But your sewing won't be any better. Any more than you will be a better driver if you have a Ferrari instead of a Ford. Same thing. That Consew is a 20u copy. One of many with different names probably from the same Chinese factory. If you can find a used 20u, an older Japanese made one it will probably be of somewhat better quality. But the Consew will be fine as well. Thanks for reviving my thread. Yes Vector P/Cs are exactly what are used in eclipse containers. That is what they originally used, and the last I heard the TSO holder says to use Vector parts as needed. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Hi, you can email your question to: rigging@uptvector.com. 3 days later no reply from their side It's Saturday today, they aren't open on Fridays. You just sent it Thursday, maybe late in the day. UPT will answer your question, don't be ragging on them here. Sheesh, people sure do get impatient in the new instant gratification internet days. The name change to FS was a very lame attempt to make the sport more understandable to non-jumpers in the hope of it one day becoming a big spectator sport. It never caught on much with jumpers and it certainly didn't attract the desired attention. Just ignore it, it's annoying. "Wingboarding"? For Real?? - Coming to a DZ near you???
gowlerk replied to Scrumpot's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My belief is you are correct about it being at most an elite stunt activity. As far as the take off goes, you could solve that problem by using a wheeled dolly that stays behind. The only reason I give any thought at all that this may happen is the impressive credentials claimed by the developer. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. "Wingboarding"? For Real?? - Coming to a DZ near you???

It's a "for real" Kickstart project. It seems like this guy believes it's the next great super adventure sport. It would seem to be his dream. I wouldn't bet on him, but it's an intriguing idea. http://www.wypaviation.com/wingboard.html Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
That is intriguing. Great concept, with the potential to become the most favored MARD system yet. If it truly works without exception it will likely become the gold standard. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Could be a line over, could be a tension knot at the brake line cascades. Easy enough to tell for sure. If it was a line over you will find heavy line burn damage on the topskin of the canopy. If you don't have obvious damage there, then there was no line over. Hang it up, do a careful inspection and let us know what you find. Yes, in keeping with modern times and modern marketing the major source of information is on the FB page here. In cartoon form no less. https://www.facebook.com/MirageContainers I hate this kind of marketing. They don't really yet have the product available, but they are talking it up in hopes of convincing people to wait for it instead of ordering a product already available. Put up or shut up, there is no real information therefore there is not yet a product. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

New style friction adapters on Javelin leg-straps
gowlerk replied to jumper03's topic in Gear and Rigging
I agree. I had a customer who bought a used Jav that had the same problem. Sunpath offered to replace the hardware for just the cost of the new hardware, no labour. But he would have had to pay shipping both ways from Canada. He ended up solving the problem by just having the hardware replaced with good old plated frame and bar friction adapters by Desert Skies Rigging while he happened to be in Eloy. Newer is not always better. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
But I don't want to see video. I want to see the updated packing manual to help me figure out if I'm going to recommend it to my customers. I see it on the order form under options, it's the "trap system". No instructions or mention on the website though. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. I a word, yes. The only reason to use clutch motors would be because you learned to sew long enough ago that you are used to them. Or possibly in a factory where they are getting constant use. Power is really a non-issue, it's all about control. No one has problems sewing because their machine lacks power. Rather they have issues with machines designed to sew endless seams at 2000 stitches per minute when all they need to do is a small 6" repair to a flap or a to sew a patch. Traditionally sewing machines used clutch motors. Why? Because servo motors weren't available. Now they are. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. This is about as good as it gets with a gropro. You are about as close as you can get, especially without wings to save your ass when you get too close. To answer your question, yes, the FOV is too wide. Get the CX115 in play and you may find the wide setting is just a little too narrow. Add a .5 wide angle lens to it, and the adjust the zoom to get what you want and your results will be better. Get a camera jacket if you can't find a suit. Used helmets are all over the market now with everyone just going the easy route with gopros. If you just switch your camera to a more narrow frame it only cuts off the amount of the sensor used. It will not improve the overall picture, just crops it. On the other hand, the shots you show are indeed judgeable and you are learning. Keep up the good work. This type of machine is designed to do high speed, relatively light sewing in a factory. It would do fine for sewing canopy patches and velcro onto one or even two layers of Cordura. It will not have a very high lift on the presser foot so it would not fit much container work under it. It sounds like you are looking for a machine suitable for a variety of work. These machines are more suited to single purpose setups. It's drop feed and the same bobbins as a 20u. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Rich Winstock Swoop Incident Cover-Up
gowlerk replied to skydived19006's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What most Americans (and Canadians) don't understand about BPA, is that it is not just an association like USPA or CSPA. It is a National Governing Body for parachuting in Britain. You can not have a non member DZ there and you can not legally jump without BPA credentials. It is this power to sanction that allows the level of abuse of power to exist. There is no other game. Period. If USPA or CSPA were given this kind of power by their governments they would be just as bad. That's how bureaucracy works. That principle, along with serving your time and paying your debt seems to go completely out the window with these sort of crimes. It's not right, but putting children at risk is not right either. Yes, of course. The population must be protected from the "meat bombs". This is the kind of small minded rationalization and justification of the bureaucracy John Cleese was spoofing in the "Ministry of Silly Walks" skit. Are you a Barrister?
