Fascism has proven to be quite popular in several places at several times. There is considerable support for the Maga brand of it right now. And there is an electoral system in place that favours it along with a lack of enthusiasm for the alternative. Bad things just a shot away. -

There is an art to gerrymandering. It's easy to create one safe seat. But if you want to have the majority of seats you need to carefully divide just enough support among each of your members. It can come all crashing down on you if you piss off enough of those voters.

I suggest that the US take a different approach to lowering its abortion rate. Try the Canadian approach. For decades now we have things that both sides want. 25% fewer abortions per woman, and absolutely no law about it.

I'm sure I am misinterpreting you. It seems you want the romance and adventure that is now gone from your life back again. If you were to forego the large door of a Caravan and once more tolerate the Beechcraft cave style entry and egress you will also leave behind the increased control and safety of the updated tricycle gear successor to the Beech 18. I can understand the desire to relive the old days. But why stop at the Westwind? Why not give the R-985s another day in the Sun?

You haven't been skydiving for very long have you? Stainless steel hardware is actually an option that most people choose over the standard cadmium plating. Used in many aerospace applications as well.

Yes, and that's why just as billvon says, it won't work. There is no workable solution to this situation that all the parties will agree to. One side or the other must win a near total victory to subjugate the other. Israel is currently much stronger, but demographically in a poor posistion. A normal secular state would work, but extremists on both sides will not allow it under any circumstances. In the long run Israel is doomed and they probably understand that. Which is why they quietly keep about a hundred nukes in reserve for the end game. The SHTF evangelicals could easily turn out to be right about this powderkeg.
