Paul Ryan puts it best. "Despicable Donald may be a racist asshole, but he's OUR racist asshole." I'm paraphrasing just a little, but that's the message. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -

uugghhh..... Rob, I hate to break it to you, but Saskatchewan and Manitoba are both considered to be prairie provinces of Canada. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
Arguments for (or against) the existence of God

I've been called an alarmist here in this forum. Like most people who are concerned and would be called the same I have absolutely nothing financial to gain. Few of us do. I drive a truck for a living. My job is to turn diesel fuel into CO2. I have a part share in a DZ. A huge waste of fuel. You are wrong about peoples motivations. Most of us will pay a financial cost and pay it willingly. To a point. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

where is the "rape culture" in the Stanford rape case
gowlerk replied to SivaGanesha's topic in Speakers Corner
Not much, and you make good points. Most of the outrage comes from 2 other factors. The victims well written and well publicize statement. And the father of the perp's statement. It is an example of rape culture. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -

Satan is a powerful symbol. As a symbol he is at least as powerful as God. People like Ron need both. It's not enough for him to hate other people, he needs a deeper enemy to feed his soul. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -

No silly. She is imaginary, like all Gods. The best sex is imaginary as well. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
I'll go with that. Along with quite a few overly emotional people with nonsense solutions. It's a complicated problem, most people can only contemplate simple solutions. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

So, you completely reject the fact that that "man behind the curtain" is the actually most of the scientific community? And the world community? It's all just a giant conspiracy, correct? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

My personal God is female. God actually is not in need of a gender because She is all things. But I consider Her a woman because I love the idea of fucking God. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
The world is full of sources of information. Some of them are sensationalist. The majority of sources are not. You are merely attempting to trivialize an important issue with your accusation of sensationalism. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Because it is unlikely that it will be beneficial to the majority. Although an increase in global temperature would likely be beneficial to me personally, given my home on the Canadian prairies. There is great uncertainty regarding the exact effects. But it seems that sea level rise is an absolute. Most of us live near the sea. Allowing the climate to change through our activities when we can both see it coming, and do things to limit it, on an experimental basis is unwise. We only have one Earth, it's not a laboratory. Money drives all industry. It is a tool that we will use. That's what money is, a tool. It's not evil, just ask any capitalist. Yes, money is corrupting. But that is a red herring. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Oh, well in that case you are misrepresenting the goal. Or, as is a favourite phrase here, "moving the goal posts". (First time I've typed that, I think I owe beer) The goal is not to change the climate, the goal is simply to limit the amount of change to not much more than we have already done. I won't be taking a bus to work anytime soon. Instead I will support alternative energy sources and reducing coal use. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. I'm going to assume a couple things. First that you meant irreversible, and second, you are not an idiot. You are correct, we can burn all the coal we can find and it will not have a meaningful long term effect on the Earth. Earth will be here long after we are no longer. However, only an idiot could not see that we could easily affect the climate enough to have a meaningful impact on our civilization. Arguments for (or against) the existence of God

Sure you can. You just have to get to a slightly wider understanding of what makes a "good religious person". Science and religion both require that you accept that some things will remain a mystery. Arguments for (or against) the existence of God
gowlerk replied to scottbre's topic in Speakers Corner
Those who believe will generally cite personal experience and the testimony of a "prophet". Whether the prophet is Jesus, Mohamed, Moses, Jim Jones, Joseph Smith, Charles Manson, or Ron L Hubbard they all have one thing in common. They are all lies made up by humans. The motivations for the lies may be different, and the prophets themselves may even have believed their own lies. But they are all lies and falsehoods nonetheless. There is no reason other than your personal need to believe any of them. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
Arguments for (or against) the existence of God
gowlerk replied to scottbre's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, and it's probably inevitable that it go this way. I've concluded that the source of our need to believe in something is simply knowledge. Once we became aware of the fact that each and every one of us must die, the struggle to live became logically meaningless. Gods are our attempt to bring meaning and understanding to our existence. In face of the fact that there is no reason to believe there is any meaning to them at all. It's a very difficult thing to face, so we make up a story and pass it around. Religion is the result of leaders taking advantage of this basic desire. Our observations tell us that there is absolutely no larger purpose to our individual lives, and that even our entire species will eventually die out. There is no reason to believe anything else except our desire for it not to be true. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
From your earlier post. It speaks of your depth of knowledge. I tell people to RTFM all the time when needed. I've not been slapped for it yet. This is the type of BS marketing that Airtec does. A teaser, with no real information, ... PD, NZ Aerosports, PF, Sfly, Atair, Liquidsky, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Hollywood... Nearly everybody is teasing a new product these days in the exact same way. Cypres is even one step ahead with a complete and ready full production version... Your criticisim is misplaced and downright wrong. I hope you are right. We'll see. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Possibly. I don't have time to research this for you today. Have you consulted the manual for your device? It lists the different firing parameters for the different settings. That should be your first step. Only after doing that should you ask for an opinion here. It is important that you understand how your device works without consulting the interweb. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

This is the type of BS marketing that Airtec does. A teaser, with no real information, no release date, and an online shill touting the usual Airtec message of "now, now little skydiver, CYPRES will take care of you, don't worry." I hope they do have a real solution for the problem. But this is a well known technique in marketing of hinting at a revolutionary new product hoping that potential customers will hold off on buying decisions until they actually have a product. Show us the product if you have one. Until then an FB post is a meaningless tease. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
