  1. I only know what comes across on various feeds and youtube videos. I have no real knowledge of gun range practices. A simple search for gun range targets turns up a mix of paper targets with about 40% being silhouettes.
  2. Sometimes when your team looks really bad the only thing to be done is a reach out to false equivalency.
  3. I'll bet many of those practice shots were at a range with human shaped targets.
  4. As long as the USA is filled with people like you who think that wanting gun control laws makes someone a nut the problem is only going to get worse. You seem to believe that not have a good working knowledge of weapons somehow means you should have no right to want them controlled. The fact is they are simply machines that spit bullets designed to kill things. Mostly to kill people. You don't need to know anything more than that to understand guns.
  5. Taking those nice white little boys and girls and convincing them to they want to darken.
  6. Books are dangerous. They are full of ideas.
  7. The anti-woke crowd has a failed Super Hero in the movie business. Unfortunately for them they have lost another battle with the House of the Mouse. An expensive hostile proxy takeover attempt, largely over politics was fought with the Disney board. But shareholders were content to say "thanks but no thanks, we are woke and we like it that way." https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/03/business/disney-proxy-battle-bob-iger/index.html
  8. I hate the common misuse of that word as well.
  9. That is indeed the heart of the matter. And there is no good answer except a change to the constitution. And that can't happen at the current time because the huge amount of political will needed does not exist.
  10. You must be kidding. Or deluded. Or both. The USA is special in that it does not have gun laws. At least not in the context of the rest of the world. You don't have laws, you have guns instead.
  11. This is a prime example of an R politician whipping up the white base about immigration. https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/28/politics/fact-check-matt-maddock-invaders-gonzaga-madness-detroit/index.html
  12. I know that right wingers are hoping he will draw from the left by attracting those who think Biden is too old. I think the reality is that Trump supporters have a large number of crazies among them and that RFK is their kind of people. Plus he will give those true conservatives who can't bring themselves to vote for a D POTUS another place to go.
  13. Can probably figure something out.
  14. Illegal immigrants go through a lot of trouble to leave their home and go to whatever western country they are aiming for. They tend to be highly motivated, like all immigrants tend to be. They also have good reason to keep their heads down and not attract the attention of authorities.
  15. Yet he is careful to say that he is only watching to see if it is true. He wants it to be true but he doesn't claim here that it is. Instead he quotes someone else and disclaims that he believes. Why? I can only speculate that he knows deep down that it is nonsense.
  16. The interesting part to me is the intelligence gathering prowess of the NSA. They predicted this attack just like they warned Ukraine that Putin would attack. All without even having TikTok under their control.
  17. Not that much need for research. Some people just believe or want to believe in the truth of the quote generally attributed to Robert Heinlien about "an armed society is a polite society". Most of the world can see the inherent untruth in this. https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/ethics-everyone/202205/is-armed-society-really-polite-society
  18. Finally, here is a "good guy with a gun" story. It's all in the family. Both father and son were armed and luckily between the two of them the right one seems to have been killed. https://apnews.com/article/west-virginia-shotgun-maxwell-laham-f832d1c365832c44a88ac6054c8cc5e3
  19. Apparently the US embassy in Moscow warned that it had indications that extremists were planning something like this. Putin was not amused and it seems did not take the warning seriously. Earlier this month, the US embassy in Russia said it was “monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow,” including concerts. The embassy warned US citizens to avoid large gatherings. In a speech Tuesday to Russia’s federal security agency, Putin called the embassy’s warnings about potential terror attacks in Moscow “provocative,” saying “these actions resemble outright blackmail and the intention to intimidate and destabilize our society.” https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/22/europe/crocus-moscow-shooting/index.html
  20. Joe, will a PT6 run on purple diesel fuel?
  21. A significant number of democrats have said that if a motion to vacate does come up they will vote to keep Johnson. Apparently they have had enough. Leadership is signalling that they are willing to make a deal to continue to support him in exchange for an up or down vote on aid to Ukraine.
  22. What Nobel prize winners actually say..... https://fossilfueltreaty.org/nobel-letter
  23. Videos are fun. Here is a good one.
  24. Actually I have no idea how tax collection works on US airport fuel sales. I just know that if you have different tax rates on fuel depending on who the end user is then you will need a way to identify the end user at the pump. My assumption is that the same fuel vendors who service other aircraft also fuel "biz jets". A term which doesn't really have a legal definition. The devil as always is in the details.
  25. Self reporting? I guess you can trust everyone to be honest. That's why it's okay to cut the IRS budget. No one cheats. Everyone always pays their taxes fully and completely.
