No need to do anything at all that will inconvenience you, or me for that matter. We will both be long dead before the effects of rising sea levels and other factors are known. There is no need for wisdom. None. It's just a good idea to act wisely. So people are starting to do so. Governments are best when they are by the people for the people. So they will act in ways that the people want. Which means they will promote less carbon intensive energy sources, because the people are asking them to. Even if there is a cost to the transition. Waiting for pure market forces would be foolish. Think of it just like saving your money. It's not as much fun as spending it, but in the long term it is wise. It's not just about subsidized Teslas for rich internet yuppies.

There is a strong moral case to be made for not foregoing fossil fuels. That does not change the fact that their use is changing the Earth's climate. You keep bouncing around from claiming there is no global warming, to claiming global warming is good, and sometimes claiming it's just too expensive for you to be bothered with. You and your inconsistencies are just plain tiresome.

That right there is offensive enough. I do suppose that if you favour a heavily patriarchal society, then you could argue that giving more power to women is destabilizing. I can live with that sort of destabilizing change even if Peterson finds it to be problematic.

You are an engineer? Great. Go for it. Parachutes are simple devices you should be able to come up with many improvements. But to answer your question, yes, suck it up. After you learn how to do it the hard way you will find it's not really that hard. Then you can begin working on ways to improve things for all of us.

It's a bad time to be a R office holder. Probably a third of them genuinely support Trumpism, and will go down with the ship willingly. The rest have to choose between doing the right thing and being cast out in the primaries by the 1/3 of the population who carry the "deplorable" gene, or just walking away and giving up their ideals.

Oh for crying out loud. Stop with the analyzing why people like guns. It's simple. Guns are beautifully machined pieces of art. They give power to their owners. And they truly fun to play with and own. It has nothing to do with how anyone feels about the size of anyone's body parts. Americans have a problem with giving that up because too many of them are just too damned selfish to let go of them for the betterment of society. There is no mystery.

I still know nothing about Peterson, and I don't care to find anything out about him. I did bother to look into Prager U. If they are promoting him that would be a strike against him. Apparently he is worried and trying to worry others about a new danger called "neo-Marxist professors". 'Nuff said right there. But you can donate, right there on the page you linked. I'm sure they will sell it to anyone who orders one without asking questions. But that doesn't make it a good idea. The 500 jump rule is likely a hard rule about who they will allow to demo it. No one wants to see someone they have lent a high performance canopy to get hurt and then have their judgement called into question for giving it to a person who is not experienced enough.

Yes, it is simple but very limited. It won’t do either of those things. All it does is record a new file when you push the red button and stops recording when you push it again. You can not skip ahead.

There are small details that can be classified as "fit and finish". When you spend more money you get a product more like a Caddy and less like a Chevy. However, Chevys are roadworthy and have seat belts and airbags that work just as well, if you get my meaning.
