I'm a trucker and I actually spend about a third of my time in the US.

You say that like you think there is something wrong with it! To the OP, that is probably a question you will not get a good answer to.

Why do you hang out on this international forum?

Where can I find left handed pilot chute container (rig)?
gowlerk replied to David Wang's topic in Gear and Rigging
Possibly. But a large number of people have had dislocated shoulders and still skydive. And it does not change the fact that if a person can not use their right arm to pull, then they likely can't use it to flare either. As I said earlier in that case most people would do far better with a more stable reserve type canopy. Preferably a large one. -
But I would say the largest factor of the three is the load. And the speed would affect it as well.

My wife gets hers tomorrow. She is quite excited.

Some lists put healthcare at the top of the list for what sectors are the largest in the US. I can find none that put it lower than 3rd.

You may be getting ahead of yourself here with the whole plan. Left side pull rigs are usually used by jumpers with range of motion issues that make it hard to use the right hand. I don't think it's a good idea to use one because you are afraid of a shoulder dislocation. The standard reaction to that would be to use your left hand to deploy your reserve. And even then you still have the very serious problem of only having one arm to flare with. Reserves are generally better than mains in this situation. If you have any serious chance of a shoulder dislocation on a jump you should stay on the ground. -
The AG from the State of GA is absolutely not going to prosecute Trump. But we don't know yet what other attempts have been made or what else he may have tried. It certainly is possible that multiple people have the goods on him but are holding their cards close to their chests until after he is out of office.
-
Yes,. I agree that such an attempt will not work as in not succeed in keeping him in power. However there is still a strong possibility of a very serious crisis with long term implications. I can easily see Trump as a man who at this point in his life wants to be remembered and go down in history in the biggest way possible.
-
So far the system has been stretched, but not broken. The attempt by Trump to overthrow democracy is astounding. It is just short of a crisis. A dozen or so more R votes in the House and we would all be wondering if he could succeed. My feeling is that enough Rs would not support him and the result would be the same. But who can say? At this point he is nothing less than a mad man. I am truly concerned that when his plan B fails in two days time he will use the days remaining to launch a plan C. Which would be to foment a military or civil crisis of some kind.

Save your money until you can buy a rig. Get advice from a local you trust. If you are at the stage of knowledge that you need to ask about this here you are not ready to go about piecing together a rig from parts. The best idea would be to work with the rigging shop. Let them know what you need and maybe they can help you. I guess a DZ like Perris can be pretty large and impersonal. If you were at a smaller DZ you would probably get to know more people on a closer basis. If there was a young jumper here in your situation I would come up with a solution. But my solution would involve older cheaper gear that would likely not even be considered at a place like Perris. -

Yes, you jump at Perris I believe. I am sure there is full service rigging available there and likely other master riggers around. Pretty much any rig can be converted for a reasonable cost. Don't go shopping for a left hand rig. -
I just can’t believe it. I’m doing an 8 way donut and seven people turn the wrong way. I’m the only one doing it correctly.

Now we know why Billvon has been quieter lately

Yet some people would accuse him of hating America! -
A further hypothesis on the popularity of Trump
gowlerk replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
I hope so. Nothing quite like doubling down on a loser. -
Does that mean you hate Canada, the way you think the majority of people here hate America?
-
Apparently your comprehension skills are not that high. Just for the record I am a Canadian who right now is in America and I find America to be anything but hateable. The reason I question your comprehension skills is I don’t recall anyone here indicating that they hate America. Could you explain why you think they do?
-
All heroes have feet of clay. The difference between those we continue to honour and those we are now deciding to no longer honour is simply the needs and desires of the new majority taking power. Nothing more and nothing less.

Yes I agree. People who complain about political correctness are really complaining about not being able to be rude without having any consequences. -
The raven is a reasonable fit. And a PD 9 cell is an older non ZP canopy. This would obviously be an older rig, it’s a combination of canopies are acceptable in sizing. But that does not mean that the rig is appropriate for you. It may or may not be depending on condition.
-
She opened her main and then managed to do up the b-12 and land safely. She was very lucky and very determined. This rig belonged to my wife who put about 2000 jumps on it before selling it. I have b-12s myself. B-12s have a long track record of being used safely. This incident is proof that one in a million events can happen. About the 218 in the J-4. The question is, what 218 do you have? I have put a Raven 2 which is 218 into one with no problem. PD makes a reserve in a 218 size that packs larger and would be a problem.
