Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross

I'm not sure what he means by that either. I think he needs to clarify. It's not 'nuff said at all! -

And...the Proud Boys in action.... https://us.cnn.com/2020/12/12/us/stop-the-steal-protest-washington-dc-trnd/index.html It looks like there must be some kind of gun control working in DC because miraculously the 4 people in the hospital in critical condition were all stabbing victims. -

I think we do understand them just fine. The current levels of hate in the public sphere are there because leaders on the right whipped them up and caused them deliberately. It is not an accident, it is a goal. -

I just added an edit to my comment as your reply came in. -
Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross

That's pretty mushy. What are you saying? That they are racist and bigoted but it's not too bad because they are soft racists and bigots? Edit to add. The problem is that there are both Christian fundamentalists and white nationalists out there and there is a fair amount of overlap between these groups. Then there are those who lean that way, or have varying degrees of sympathy with them. That is the group that Trump is calling to when he says things like "there are good people on both sides". If that kind of thinking is tolerated it emboldens the extremes to become more extreme and it encourages those leaning to fall off the fence and join them. Stephen Miller and his ilk are counting on your understanding and acceptance as they go about their mission. -

I doubt that you even know what Luciferian refers to these days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luciferianism -

In other words, you don't have a clue what your god wants. Which is not surprising given the state of confusion you are in. But I'm sure you have some sort of a shaman or priest you see as a leader who will shortly be telling you. -
My mon died this morning Things are pretty grim covid-wise here now. We have a pretty strict bunch of orders and no visiting is allowed so we can't even gather the family together. 3 weeks ago the nursing home got its first case. They only have 155 beds. At last report 2 days ago they had 72 residents testing positive along with 37 staff and 19 deaths. And counting. Although in the end it was the virus which killed her, it was really the evil of Alzheimer’s dementia that took her away from us some time ago. She had a life long weakness for, and love of ice cream. Up until a couple years ago when she was beginning to be less independent but could still live on her own, I would take her grocery shopping. I liked to buy a pint of butter pecan, it was her favourite. I would sit down and split it with her as a treat we both could enjoy. It was almost like watching a child, or being one of two children enjoying it together. It just so happens that I bought some and brought it home the on day before she died. It’s in the freezer unopened and I’m not sure if I can eat it now without breaking down. Maybe someday soon. I wish I could go out and find a child to share it with. But that is not allowed. Not even my grandson for now. But this to shall pass and brighter days are in the picture for the future.

Meh.....just a bunch of malcontent drama queens.

I don't know. But I'll surprised if they don't turf it this evening.

Yea, I grew up watching "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show". But I'll let you in on a secret. It's actually American. I'm pretty sure that Snidely Whiplash was an illegal alien from south of the border.

You can block it from FB.

Canada seems to be losing people at about a rate 50% of the US. A reasonable place to compare to. It is hyperbolic to be blaming all the death on Trump. Much of the blame lies with state governments. But you also can't deny that the POTUS sets the tone and influences the response.

Damn. Foiled again by an engineer using math.

Maybe it’s just another form of virtue signalling!

This randomly showed up on my FB feed. It's the funniest thing I've seen for a while. But why does it stop at today? It should continue till the rapture. Wait a minute! Maybe that IS today!!!! https://amazingbibletimeline.com/

And Mark. What will he say? Something about Scottish Mosques maybe.

I have to say, this is what freedom is supposed to look like. Not the freedom to discriminate on the basis of belief. https://www.npr.org/2020/12/10/945000341/supreme-court-says-muslim-men-can-sue-fbi-agents-in-no-fly-list-case

I agree with you.

I say no, after reading the story.

Thanks for the report. And for the attempt to talk sense to him. I guess with the level of anger and the sheer number of people involved there is bound to be some fringe group that slips through without a warning and commits some kind of outrageous crime. Usually they tell too many people and at least one tips off the police. Like with the plot against the Michigan governor. But you can't count on that everytime.

That completely changes the message of the post alright. I read the story and i don't see any announcement of non prosecution except possibly this sentence: Under his announced reforms, children will no longer be sent to adult court; low-level crimes associated with poverty, addiction, mental illness and homelessness will be diverted to health services; and his office will review cases in which lengthy prison terms were "inconsistent" with sentencing and charging policies. It's hard to know exactly what this means, but I assume it is what you are concerned about. It also say this: Prosecutors won't file sentencing enhancements — like California's "3 Strikes" law — that can send people to prison for far longer terms. But that is not the same as not prosecuting.

Suffice it to say that I'm glad you are not in charge. Can we move on and talk about the vaccines now? The latest I'm hearing is that there is still no certainty that being vaccinated will prevent asymptomatic cases and vaccinated people being spreaders.
