Back to the cost of mining it. I now have a better understanding of the issue. There should be no problem. Supply and demand and the profit margin will take care of it. If it gets too expensive to mine some people will drop out and that will lower the cost. Although I don’t trust bitcoin it is a genius system.

Try to sell your diamonds if you bought them retail. They are nearly worthless. BTC may or may not be the same, there are enormous differences. One thing for sure is that without technology they are worth nothing. Less than thin air.
-
I think I found part of the answer here. Although it was written a month ago and BTC has fallen another 25% or so since then. https://www.forbes.com/sites/colinharper/2022/05/20/bitcoin-miners-face-shrinking-profitability-amid-crypto-crash/?sh=70843b774bf0

And of course both Putin and large parts of the US Christian right believe their god wants Russia to control eastern Europe in the name of Her church.

This just popped up on my FB. I couldn't posting resist it here.

I'm one of those who never trusted and never "invested" in any of this fad. The people I know who have are among the least sophisticated working class dreamer investors that I know. Which made me think of the fact that there's one born every minute. That did not stop me from watching in wonder and doing my best to understand this market for currency with no government involvement. Now I'm wondering if the current pricing still allows for those invested in mining it to make a profit. There is a lot of energy and hardware being wasted on it. And if they stop mining it how is the blockchain going to be maintained?

Six of the SCOTUS members are Catholic. You figure it out.

The world owes us nothing. And the world needs no people at all. We each need who we need individually.
-
I wonder where she learned of such methods and strategies?
-
They have done well in state houses. SCOTUS has just forced the battle for basic rights into individual states. Which now will become the focus of woman’s rights in America. The right wing has picked a fight that will cost them a lot of power as the pendulum swings.
-
The wins they just had this week were a long time coming. It is my belief that the backlash from them will be very strong, and lasting. The Rubicon has been crossed.
-
The fight is no longer national. It has shifted to the state level. That’s how Rs see it and they are correct.

And....you can work hard and still not have success. Don't pat yourself on the back too hard airdvr. Yes you worked, but you also didn't start from nothing.

Maybe if you count suburbia. Soccer moms are not going to take the bus. When I say "heavily populated urban areas" I mean city cores and places where parking is too expensive for the average person.
-
I'm guessing mass transit will never reach any DZs. Mass transit is only viable in heavily populated urban areas. It will never be a solution outside of them.

Winsor! We agree on something.

A lot of words and still no answer to the question. Why do you care and how is it any of your business?

How is it that Chinese and Muslim nation censorship is now celebrated by the US right wing?

The oceans are rising, the glaciers are retreating, the CO2 levels are increasing the childish arguments keep on coming from the troll and people keep acknowledging him. The world keeps right on turning anyway. -
Support for the death penalty in Canada is consistently over 50% of those polled. It is the same in nearly every nation that no longer imposes it.. Abolishing it is basically an elitist position. I do not support it even though there are people who I know deserve it. I am one of the elite I suppose.

Soylent Green anyone?

Interesting. What is "The American Dream"? A national myth I suppose. Is there a Canadian Dream?

Your definition does not really matter. Some people want to live as well as they can as a different gender from the one that comes most naturally with their genes, or in some cases their genes are not arranged in the standard way. Either way, in the most plain terms, it's no skin off your ass. Why does it upset you and Winsor and some others so? At the same time I also am inpatient with those who look for biological arguments to justify it. There is no justification needed. Just let people alone. Why should you care? The world is not going to fall apart into some abyss of gender dysphoria. The social order will not collapse. Boys will still mostly like girls and girls will still mostly like boys. Nothing will change except that some people will feel less oppressed and more free. Move alone now, there's nothing for you to see here.

Most likely the secret service would have had enough bullets to drive off the hoards. There could have been several casualties. Pence would not have been taken without a bloodbath.

Why can't Wiccans, Rastafarians and Satanists have control of their children's publicly funded education as well?
