  1. How are your openings? Have you chopped? I've seen people jump the crossfire and the stiletto... Heck, there are people out there who jump birdman suits with little velocitys. I think it really depends on your deployment position consistency.

    Atmonauti

I think I might be confusing it with what I;ve heard called crabbing. Is this just a totally separate thing from tracking though? Autmonauti is not the same as tracking, and is not crabbing... It is it's own entity, and is really really cool... Kinda like flying head down on a 45 degree angle... kinda.
  3. For a thousand bucks, I'm goign to go and pick up two! This thing is exactly what I've been looking at to finally get real serious about my camera flying. Don't make fun of me, ok guys? I AM going to make fun of anyone who I see using one of these!
  4. Uh oh... i bet gettin' that xf2 dropped you to the bottom of the demo list!
  5. I'm on the site too... From the calender, 4th of july at the ranch... Kolla;s write up w/ pics. Yippee!
  6. I bet it has something on it if it's running windows anything... These "infections" don't necessarily impact your computer directly, instead they flood the network you're a part of with a boat load of packets of information, which slows down the network for everyone else connected, and can actually cause switches and routers to stop functioning properly, which effects network/server/printer connectivity. I bet you're right if it's a mac If you go to symantec.com, you can download different worm removal tools... download the Sobig, MyDoom, and Welchia removal tools and see if they find anything. Then download spybot and run that and see what it finds. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised to see that there are in fact things on your computer that you don't want there. These are all free downloads... Edited to add: I've stopped runnign ad-aware on client machines because I think that it's not as thorough as spybot, I don't think that it removes all of the components on the things that it does find, and I think that it sometimes screws up the normal functions of the computer. I now use spybot for spyware, and cwshredder for internet explorer setting changes. This is only on other people's computers, as my personal machine isn't a windows machine.
  7. Airplanes with reverse are cool...
  8. His name is Marcus Antebi, he used to own pier, the gear store at the ranch. He still owns pier media which produced a lot of videos like pack like a pro, swoop I+II, snow dirt snow, dirt water dirt... He also published the pics of the girl in the bathtub with the hotdogs that created such an uproar. Marcus is a super good guy with a great sense of humor. I think he would agree that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and Bush shouldn't be re-elected... but that's just a guess.
  9. I've got plenty of footage if you're interested? (Thanksgiving boogie and Holiday boogie)
  10. I taught at a high school for a year... I still work at the school, but I only fix computers now. -drew
  11. C'mon wil, tell me about the swedish freefly festival, my friend.
  12. you finish the joe, you make some mo!
  13. Re read the post, my friend... "After you've made a few jumps..." Otherwise, we're all thinking the same things, just not writing them all down. Blue Skies, -drew
  14. I don't think the tube length increases or decreases your chance of a malfunction. It's important to understand that when you deploy with a tube, there is so much drag from it that you will have to compensate for it to avoid an unstable deployment. Flying a tube is weird at first... you tend to move around the sky a lot more than you would if you weren't flying the tube. Definitely a little different. If ANYTHING goes wrong, drop the tube. Maybe go on some tube jumps with other people... After a couple of jumps, ask them to pass the tube to you, see what it's like to fly it, and then pass it back to them so they can deploy with it. At least this way you'll know if it's something you're into before you spend all the time trying to make one that's airworthy. (I have one if you have any specific questions.)
  15. tick, tock, tick, tock... 170 Sabre 450 jumps 135 Stiletto 75 jumps... 120 Stiletto 150 jumps... 107 Stiletto 331 jumps... 1006 jumps and 0 injuries/malfunctions. I listened to the people who gave me advice, and watched those people who didn't listen, or wouldn't listen, get hurt. If anything, I wouldn't suggest changing canopies again... Try to learn how to fly this one first, aaaa-iiiight?
  16. and the clock ticks... To add to Hookitt's post: LAnding the parachute is the last of an entire sequence of events in which you can very easily hurt/kill yourself and/or someone else. By jumping down to a canopy you don't have the experience to be flying, you are making the sport that much more dangerous for the people around you. You won't understand that yer, but with time and experience, you'll see how much our own safety depends a lot on the people around us. Not only that, but by downsizing with this amount of experience, you may set a poor example for other new members of our sport, promoting premature downsizing. Be safe
  17. limewire is for windows also... definitely not as populated as kazaa.

  22. Hi Will The wall (pictures) were taken down, and then, after a few weeks or months, they returned. The great hall of the Ranch is once again covered with picturesof all sorts of things, including broken legs, neck braces, and swollen testes. Still people make mistakes and get injured. -Drew
