  1. My mistake on the specs... I was doing them from my head and confused them with the pre-update specs... I def agree with you about portability with the 12.. I just think the apple powerbooks are such great computers.
  2. the 12's got the slower processor, different ports, and doesn't have the back lit keyboard nor wi-fi by default... You're better off buying a refurbished 15 with the backlit keyboard, for the same price... Or spending the extra cash on the new 15... def worth it. (just my opinion)
  3. Thos pics are dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooope!
  4. I just bought the 17 inch Powerbook (1.5 ghz) last week, and boy am i impressed... I can't see anyone being dissappointed with anything about that laptop! It has the superdrive built in, and I also have an external cd burner, so I can use toast and the built in burn application to burn 2 discs at one... Very cool. And the isight works great also...

  11. It's interesting that the high up execs, that have all donated $2000 to the Bush-Cheney campaign, are all about the Victim Naming special not being aired on television... I personally believe that it's a nice idea to honor the kids in Iraq who have died, and although I wouldn't necessarily watch the show, I don't see why it should be censored: http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/04/29/abc.nightline/index.html 7 ABC affiliates ordered not to air 'Nightline' Order draws sharp response from network and angry calls Thursday, April 29, 2004 Posted: 11:37 PM EDT (0337 GMT) Ted Koppel (CNN) -- Sinclair Broadcast Group has ordered its seven ABC stations not to broadcast Friday's "Nightline" that will air the names and photographs of the more than 500 U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war. In a statement online, the Sinclair group said the "Nightline" program "appears to be motivated by a political agenda designed to undermine the efforts of the United States in Iraq." Sinclair's decision, announced Thursday, drew angry calls from the public and a sharp response from ABC News. "We respectfully disagree with Sinclair's decision to pre-empt 'Nightline's' tribute to America's fallen soldiers," ABC News said in a statement. "The 'Nightline' broadcast is an expression of respect which simply seeks to honor those who have laid down their lives for this country." Some of the stations have received many calls and e-mails in response to Sinclair's decision. "I have not gotten one positive response," said an assignment desk editor at WSYX, the ABC station in Columbus, Ohio. WEAR in Pensacola, Florida, has been inundated with phone calls and e-mails. A man who answered the phone in the station's newsroom said people mostly wanted to know why the decision was made. On the Web site for WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina, the station invited viewers to e-mail the station and said it would forward the messages to Sinclair. The company's other ABC stations are in St. Louis, Missouri; Charleston, West Virginia; Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Springfield, Massachusetts. The show, titled "The Fallen," will air at 11:35 p.m. Friday. In it, newsman Ted Koppel will read the names of the U.S. troops killed in action while their pictures are shown to viewers. As of Thursday, 533 U.S. troops have been killed in action in the Iraq war; another 204 troops have died from nonhostile incidents. Sinclair general counsel Barry Faber confirmed the company told its ABC affiliates not to air Friday's Nightline. "We find it to be contrary to public interest," he said. ABC said that on the first anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks it aired the names and pictures of all those who died on that day. "ABC News will continue to report on all facets of the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism in a manner consistent with the standards which ABC News has set for decades," it said. Sinclair's statement said ABC is politicizing the war. "Mr. Koppel and 'Nightline' are hiding behind this so-called tribute in an effort to highlight only one aspect of the war effort and in doing so to influence public opinion against the military action in Iraq," the statement said. According to campaign finance records, four of Sinclair's top executives each have given the maximum campaign contribution of $2,000 to the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign. The executives have not given any donations to the campaign of Sen. John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee, the records showed. Sinclair owns and operates, programs, or provides sales services to 62 stations in 39 markets, according to its Web site. In addition its ABC outlets, Sinclair's television group includes 20 Fox, 19 WB, six UPN, three CBS and four NBC affiliates, and two independent stations. It reaches approximately 24 percent of all U.S. television households, according to the Web site. ABC News will show the tribute live on its large television screen in New York's Times Square. What's up with that, huh?
  12. apple powerbooks were updated this past week, and there's really not much comparision with other laptops... especially for editing.
  13. that pic has been around for quite some time now...
  14. Search google for cwshredder... it restores all your internet settings back to factory and looks for any thing that would try to take over the browser settings... Make sure that you're in safe mode when you scan the hd with any of the ad aware/spybot stuff, and the same goes for nortons... pm me if you run into any problems
  15. I tend to try and be as relaxed as possible throughout the skydiving day... When it comes time to jumping and attempting to learn something new, I tend to sway away from the standard "put your arms here and do this with your legs, blah blah blah", and go more with fly what ever feels right. Try to be aware of where you are placing the tension on your muscles ( both consciously and subconsciously), and on the next jump try to consciously completely change where that tension is focused. Move your hands around, put your legs one in front of the other, one hand on top of your head, wave to your friends, throw the peace sign (or devil horns) at the camera... try to throw a 720 spin, or a 540 cartwheel... Laugh out loud in freefall... Do it every single jump and just change your whole mentality and approach to learning... You're already past the hard part, now it's only the minor details which you can already do, you just haven't yet...
  16. Why not go to the apple store for the ibook and order the software through whichever vendor has it?
  17. Ranchhand28... But you already had her on the list right?
  18. Yep... Toby the swing-a... (Of course, Steve, we hope that you come too!)
  19. Jimmy and Hunter (freedom of flight in deland) have used southeast air to the ranch... No complaints. That'll be sooo cool if everyone comes up to the Ranch for the boogie... especially if the guy from colorado tags along with the pd girls. Later Ya'll!

  21. what were the specs on the g4 powerbook? What was the version of the OS? What version of Photoshop were you using? Photoshop runs super nice on my powerbook, and it's 3 years old! The newer powerbooks/ ibooks are awesome for photoshop, final cut, whatever... the older ones were just a bit slower, but with a nice size RAM chip, they perform nice also. And, the newer versions of the os (10.2.8 or 10.3.x) both handle processes differently that the previous versions of the os... They are super fast... As companies refine their priducts for the newer OS, the speeds will continue to increase. Apple doesn't need a g5 config to edit on the laptop... Their machines are good enough, as long as they're the newer models... The g5 will run super hot, make the machine heavier from the fans, and run down the batteries super fast. If I had the money, I would buy a new, high end Powerbook and an IBM Thinkpad... Right now I have a 500 mhz g4 powerbook, an ibook 333mhz, and a toshiba running 98 (yikes!) which I use only for printing to my die sub printer. -drew

    Atmonauti

Yeah, but when you're tracking, there's a leader, and usually the other people follow behind... In autnomauti, everyone is one the same level, only they're flying at a 45 ish degree angle. (Everyone's eyes are on the same level) It doesn't actually look like tracking, and it definitely doesn't feel like tracking, and you're not flying like you track... It's more like flying head down, but you're flying at an angle of 45 degrees.
  23. Bush has twin daughters... I haven't really heard anything good about Kerry... except that he's actually a veteran, right? That's good!
