    I think this would be something I would definately not mind "get caught up in" as a surprise on run to altitude... Who cares if it cost a jump ticket, it's safety day, it happens once a year, and I am for everything that can be done realisticly to help me learn or feel comfortable with a given situation. If I catch drift that any SoCal DZs are doing this for safety day I think that's where I'll be.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     Jump #4 didnt initiate EPs like I should have, and as the log book says (from my instructors) "Took cross wind landing @ high speed just missing obstacles" ... Somehow I walked away with nothing but a scratch and a bruse.. Just a bit shook up for a good hour.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     Ofcourse, not ALL providers say this is illegal.. Infact Speakeasy DSL actually tells you how to share your internet to the world on their website... There are alot of networks that *ARE* setup to allow people to connect, on purpose... I used to keep mine open too... I also will use someone elses connection if mine is down for any reason (happened a couple of times)... I dont think there is anything wrong with using a shared network, if you spend *ANY* time looking at what your doing it's not hard to lock it down.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     The monkey commercial just reminded me of it, but since nobody has mentioned it, that Verizon wireless commercial with the monkeys was pretty good too, IMO...     Funny thing is that at work, our saftey harnesses (much like what is on the ebay listing) actually have Parachute or something like that in the part description..     Jumps 1-18 scared shitless of the skydive.. I am still afraid of the plane ride, I really dont like being IN THE PLANE.. I think my reason for that is that it is the one point where I dont really have any control over what's going on.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     I would have never thought, until reading this thread, that anyone would be able to expect a packer to do jack if you have a malfunction.... I always figured that once you took the gear it's your responsibility and your problem.. Figured it was a disadvantage of using a packer, you wanna know it's good do it yourself? Dont really know what I'm trying to say, but I know that personally I would not think of holding a packer to be responsible for what happens to me in the sky... Always had the feeling that I am 100% responsible for myself and everything that happens once I choose to exit that door.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     lol... wow... ok... Yes, infact I have jumped at skyride related DZs, one of which stopped accepting the certificates.. IMO I really dont need to be a 10 year jumper to realize when something stinks, .. I really dont care if you think that because I am pretty new to the sport that I dont get an opinion, but IMO I pay the same dues you do, and I've lived in this world long enough to know some things... It's not only about skydiving, it's about a scam (which you call business), .. Making fake DZ websites is a scam and it's just not good for the sport. (not to mention all the other crap they do). Edited to add: I'll jump with you any day.. I'm sure your not an asshole, and nowhere did I ever say you were.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     They are siding against the side which is doing nothing but cause damage to the sport... I have spent way to much time reading about skyride, I see them as nothing but a parasite which needs to be removed from our sport. I am happy the USPA is taking a stand with it. I also agree with what was said above, where do you draw the line? The GM's pay dues, so the USPA is going to have to continue to help the DZs as well as the jumpers, .. Bottom line is that helping the DZs helps *US* at the same time, keeps the places we want to jump in business.. What's the problem with this? FGF #??? I miss the sky...     I know how my AAD works, and I know that it will fire 750 feet above where I take off and land at (DZ altitude).. There are hills that surround my DZ, very close to it... If above one of those hills the AAD just might be too late.. I dont count on it for anything. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     LOL.. Great story.. I had one "stick" during freefall once.. Thing started working again under canopy ? had a post somewhere about it.. Isnt that just a horrible feeling when your at the same altitude two checks in a row Anyway ... Now I jump neptune, so if it fails I'll most likely just have blank screen instead and not think I'm still at xxx feet (Yea yea, i know, it can fail and say the wrong thing too).... And people wonder why I also wear my Suunto altitude watch with my regular alti FGF #??? I miss the sky...     Oops, 90 days I have been known to ask a coach to do a jump with me, covering his slot, if I go too long, even if the USPA says I'm current.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.

    I would never trust my AAD for two reasons... The first one is that the place I jump is not level, the AAD firing at 750 feet above my DZ LEVEL may not be even close to 750 feet above the ground i'm over! The second reason is one that people have already mentioned a couple times here, in fact it was just 4 jumps ago that I realized that I had forgotten to turn on my AAD prior to my first jump of the day.. I'm not sure how this happened, as I am usually pretty anal about my gear check, especially before my first jump of the day, but I still missed it FGF #??? I miss the sky...     I too found two streaches which made a world of difference for my arch,, both stretch the back.. The first one is laying on the ground, then pushing the upper body up (like doing a pushup) but keeping the waist on the ground The second is started by getting on my knees, I then "fall back", basicly knees and back of head on the ground.. Dont know what it is, but I found I was able to get a much larger arch much easier after doing these.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...
