    And both of you have conveniently ignored my question: If you don't know your maximum vertical descent rate how can your argument be based on the premise that everyone should? Mabey if your doing things at high speed under canopy, and you still jump an AAD, you should find out what your decent speeds are... Last time I checked some data loggers (i.e. the Neptune) monitor and record canopy speeds. This just seems like one case that ignorance isnt going to help you at all. FGF #??? I miss the sky...     We have a dog that roams around the DZ.. I think that it was a stray who just found a great place at the DZ awhile back.. If you dont see the dog all you gotta do is get some food and start eating and it will be at your feet in no time ... Think its pretty old, kinda in rough shape, but really sweet.. Kinda funny when going through the packing area the dog even steps over peoples lines instead of on them (from what I've always seen).... Most dogs would annoy me walking around freely, especially in a packing area, but this ones alright.. I'll get a pic next time I'm at the DZ.

    :4:0 4 awsome, but interesting due to wind, jumps on saturday! 1 track (which I didnt hardly move due to uppers), 2 freefly (attempts), and one hibrid.. Working right now, all day sunday, till monday morning

    At Perris we call it 'Green Light'. Don't know when it got changed from 'Beer Light' but it has. Or is it just a more 'politically correct' term in this commercial day and age? ltdiver Interesting.. only time I've ever heard green light was in the plane

    You can offset ground elevation to account for higher terrain. Derek And increase my risk of a pre-mature fire when I'm actually in freefall or opening canopy over the DZ? I'll pass.. I'm not landing from an area that is different from where I take off or anything, there is just alot of areas of high elevation surrounding the DZ and I just found myself over them a couple times yesterday.     I also have never ever thought that I could rely on mine.. I like having it, but hell, in two of the four jumps I did yesterday my properly operating turned on cypress probably would not have saved my life due to the ground elevation below me during the dive... I have no problem with DZs requiring them, my DZ does, and if getting a cypress changes someones outlook on what they can / can not do during a jump to survive I think it's time to hang up the gear and go try something else.
