Here is another way to figure it out; Add 4 months to your repack date. With a little practice you can do it without a calender.

For a D license you should do at least 10 night jumps. 1 solo, the rest should be either rw or crew. And we should not have to come look for you after you land! Oh yeah! And get rid of that pussy water jump training. You should have at least 2 ACTUAL water jumps. Preferably in swift, cold, deep water!

Side-By-Side:Do you induce a downplane and cut away?
peckerhead replied to onlyood's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This may not be the answer you are looking for but the smartest thing to do is avoid putting yourself in a two out situation to begin with. With proper gear checks and due diligence the most common cause of two outs in this day and age is lack of altitude awarness and AAD activation. That said, this subject has been debated many times and my best advice to you is have a plan and stick to it. Discuss this with your instructors. -
A few years back the best possibility would have been para-ski in the winter olympics. But, with all the new snowboarding events and a few others the WO are saturated. Para-ski to me would be the best fit. Since it involves skiing non-skydivers who like winter sports could relate. Accuracy is something people on the ground can actually SEE. Also there are other combined events in the WO. ( Biathlon; shooting and cross country skiing, Nordic combined; jumping and skiing etc.) most of the countries that compete in the WO also have Para-ski teams. As far as the motor thing all chairlifts, gondolas, aerial trams have motors. In some cases helicopters are used to ferry alpine competitors to the top of the mountain.

Call Ralph. He has a large inventory of materials, tools, spare parts, etc. He is a good source for those hard to find items. Better prices than Para gear.

It appeared in San diego and New York yesterday. I contacted the sellers and they both replied that their accounts had been hijacked and they knew nothing about it. Shortly later the listings were removed. As soon as it is removed it appears again under a different name in a different location. This jerk has hijacked a lot of accounts.

Do you have any pictures of the door on the four seater?
-
I am not so sure I buy that.... I have been around some very witty drunks. (especially at the DZ!) Quick, snappy comebacks even after a few cold ones is the norm for someone with a little brain power. He ain't got it. Of course his dumb, goofy, country boy persona could just be an act. Maybe he really is an evil genius?

I think he is an idiot. At least he plays one on TV

Vallejo was where The Altitude shop was located.

Here are some pictures of the rear left hand door of a Cherokee 6. The first picture shows the interior with seats, (plenty of room without seats) The second picture is a view from the outside. This is similar to the ones I have jumped. Pretty cool little plane. We went with four but I think you can haul up to six. (5 jumpers and a pilot) It had a jump step and floater bars on the top. I am not familiar with the four seater but I would guess it is much smaller and more difficult to exit from without the cargo door.

I've done 4 ways out of Cherokees many years ago and I don't remember any problems. They used to have one at Larry Bagleys DZ in Salt lake city. As I recall the door is about the same size as a 182. Oh yeah, it was a Cherokee 6, this was Utah in the winter so it definetly had a door.

Wasn't the classiflyer built by The Altitude Shop? As I recall it was the predesessor to the Corsair. Also, the Top Secret was a piggyback rig (both main and reserve on the back) hence the name.

That is exactly what he is doing.

Simply Amazing! It has crossed the ocean and is now in the UK. Once again a different Ebay user name and a different email address. Same rig, same scam.

$13,000 for a $5000 rig. But, if you email him directly it will only be $1050!

It has re-appeared under a different name again today. Yesterday it was in New York, today it is in San Diego. That rig sure does get around! http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Complete-skydiving-rig-mirage_W0QQitemZ130014019662QQihZ003QQcategoryZ1314QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This rig shows up several times each month on Ebay. It always has a 24 hour auction and is usually removed within a few hours of being listed. In fact I just looked at it a few minutes ago and it is gone now. The person selling it always has a different Ebay user name and the location of the rig is always a different place. In the last month this rig has been sold from Texas, California, and New York. The rig is like new with a cypress and new canopies, and the opening bid is incredibly low with no reserve price. Too good to be true. The seller always has the same line, don't bid just email me for a fast safe deal. Then it is for sale the next day under a different name. I wonder how many times this rig has been sold? His email address changes everytime it is listed. Ebay must be onto the guy because the listing is always removed within a few hours. Either that or some sucker contacts him and he removes the listing himself. This rig has been listed dozens of times in the last few months under many different names and email addresses. If you see this rig don't bid, it is a scam. I have attached the photos, it is the same photos he uses everytime...... This really pisses me off because many of us do legitimate, honest sales on Ebay. Edit: I just found it again under a different listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Complete-skydiving-rig-mirage_W0QQitemZ150018750768QQihZ005QQcategoryZ15719QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I expect it will dissapear again soon.

Are you still trying to collect on that bet from Ty? For what its worth I think you won.

Actually the SIM states that you "should" meet all the requirements of a B license or higher. It does not say you have to have one. My first night jump was #70. I never got a B license but I was B qualified at the time. (back then you only needed 50 freefall jumps for a B license) Most of us did not get our first license until we were C qualified. How you know when you are ready is up to you. It seems nowadays people wait until they have more experience than we used to. I only had 15 jumps on a ram air canopy when I made my first night jump so it was no big deal. I couldn't land very well during the day either

Ball park cost of a packing class?
peckerhead replied to AEsco48's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I do not charge students anything to teach them how to pack. That should be included in the training they are already paying for. -
Deterioration of skydiving
peckerhead replied to hymandd732's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have heard of such places but never been to one. I am just happy if the porta-potty gets pumped once a week. -
Thats a bold statement to throw out without even trying to justify it. It sounds like the feud in Eugene is still going strong.
