Sorry, as I said I meant no offence. It just looks home made to me. The edges look rough and it does not seem to have that polished finish look like other bonehead boxes I have seen. Is it functional? Does the camera stay secure when closed? The interior looks a bit rough and not smooth to me. It would be nice to see a thin layer of memory foam to help cushion the exterior of the camera. The whole idea is to protect the unit and have a stable mounting platform. Also I would like to have the option of the larger battery. Again, maybe it is just the photos Do you have any pics with the camera mounted in it?

I hope cookie cutter comes up with something better. I thought bonehead could do better than that.... I think I will wait. No offense but that looks like crap. Maybe its just the photo...Could you post a pic with the camera in it? And a wide angle lens attached? Mounted on a helmet maybe? $180 ??? for that? I assume that is a prototype and the finished version will be "ahem" more professional looking? Redkite still has the best so far.

Did you receive your 10 year tenure award?
peckerhead replied to SkydiveMO's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Never received my 10 year. I did get my 20 year but only after I requested it. Next renewal will be 25 but I doubt they will send anything unless I ask for it. -
Thanks for the replies and PM's. I guess I am more interested in camera settings. I mostly do Tandems and this was only my second attempt at RW. Specifically would a faster shutter speed get rid of the motion blur? I shot these on TV mode (shutter priority) with a 350 speed.

Ok, so I have been doing video for almost 5 years but I just started doing stills recently. (about six months) I am not a photographer, just a skydiver trying to take pictures. I am using a digital canon 300D with the stock lens. Any tips?

Do they make one?

Used for round reserves. You don't see them anymore.

I have had 8 cutaways and never lost a canopy or even a handle or freebag. I did lose a kicker plate once though. Even had one chop at 10K and we still found it the same day. But I do know many who have lost their trash. In most cases farmer McNasty was involved.

You tell him. It sounds like a tall tale to me. The spring is way more than two months ago. It is September dude. No worries, you can talk about skydiving on the internet or you can come out to the airport. Your choice..... Tough love bubba.... -

Funny! Now maybe we can just write "Chad" on a piece of tape and stick it on his helmet. You could have sold that rig to a Sam.....Too late now. Whatever! He will still always be Sam to me. -

That makes sense. I usually close my eyes anyway. Maybe he could just wear really dark sunglasses? But one thing is for sure....The next time I hear someone whine about night jumps I am going to laugh my ass off! -

Well ok, I am out of town for the next few weeks because I am going to a boogie in Oregon but I should be at the DZ in Maytown PA Saturday the 30th. Terry doesn't have a clue who you are and Dave doesn't either. When was your last jump? Were you wearing a gilligan hat and blueblockers at the DZ? Nobody remembers you. We were thinking maybe you were someones alter-ego. But hey, if you are real don't give up! and don't expect someone to come out to the parking lot and hold your hand. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Just dont squeek too much..... -

I have been on several wildfire assignments in Alaska during the solstice and the temps are quite warm in June....it does not cool off at night because there is no "night" The sun goes down and then comes back up. It is really weird if you have not seen it. But, it never gets completely dark.... I am just guessing that 24 hours of daylight might make things easier. Who knows? Maybe Jay jumps faster in the dark...... -

Zippo, Who are you? Your profile says your home DZ is Maytown but nobody at that DZ has ever heard of you. I am an instructor there and none of the other instructors has a clue who you are either. Continue, quit, or change course? As far as we are concerned you do not even exist. If you have somehow fallen through the cracks and none of the staff knows you then we have a big problem. But, I have looked at the paperwork and asked around and there is no record of you ever jumping at Maytown. It is a small DZ and students are treated like royalty. 4 jumps? Who was your instructor? We don't have that many.....I sure as hell don't know who you are and I teach the first jump course. I am also an IAD Jumpmaster and I know I have never tossed your pilot chute, none of the other JM's have either....None that will admit it anyway. You have 657 posts on DZ.com but nobody at your home DZ has a clue who you are. Whats up with that? I would be happy to work with you and get you into the sport. Our student progression is affordable compared to other DZs in the region. For a small cessna DZ we have an incredible wealth of knowledge and a very experienced staff. But, you have to physicaly appear and not just be a phantom on the internet. -

I had one from about 10,000 ft....It seemed like about half an hour. It was not my last one but for sure the longest.

The Triathlon from 98 has the better fabric and will be much easier to pack. I hoard that stuff because it is getting harder to find. Anyone with a clue knows the Gelvenor (SA ZP) is the best!

Fruit, watermelons, televisions..... Been there done that. Unless you are in a very remote area with no humans DON'T DO THIS. Sending a pumpkin through some ones roof will stick with you for ever..... Bad ju-ju Trust me on this one......

I didn't mean to sound stupid sparky....No doubt the faster planes had a hand in it I would also think the well oiled jumping machine had worked out a few seconds as well. This is obviously also a testament that the Pac 750 is clearly the most effecient jump plane available today. The Porter could not keep up with it. PS I wonder how many jumps Jay has made after he had a little nap? Probably more than most active skydivers make in a month... -

I will be in Portland Thursday afternoon. I am flying into PDX and will have a rental car if you need a ride to the beach. Should be a hoot! -
How long has it been since your last reserve ride?
peckerhead replied to peckerhead's topic in The Bonfire
Security Aero Conical (sac) A round 22 ft in diameter.... My only square (ram air) reserve ride was a FTS rascal 202. Stand up landing in the peas after a cutaway from a strato cloud delta. -

Focus on the positive.... Most of the dead skydivers I know crashed in airplanes or got old and quit jumping. I guess I have been lucky.
