NO I'M NOT. I am a copy editor. This is not editing copy. This has nothing to do with editing copy. This is an entirely separate department. At any other newspaper, this would be considered "free-lance" and I would get paid for it. Here, it's just a "personal favor" for the research guy who doesn't feel like doing it himself, and since I'm so new there, I feel pressured into doing it. You sure like to argue, Scott. right back atcha. Now somebody give me some triva sites, waaaah!

OK, I stupidly let myself be talked into providing trivia for the newspaper once a month, and now I need 10 "fun facts" that were due like last week. Does anyone know of reliable sites where I can find stuff like that? This day in history, that kind of thing? I know of uselessknowledge.com and infoplease.com, and sometimes I use snopes.com, but that's ALL I KNOW OF ARGH. Can you help?!

It's how many cases you owe under the beer rules. 5:5:1 means you got lucky 5 times, made 5 skydives, and owe 1 case of beer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think DZ-bashing on this public forum is wholly inappropriate. There's no way we can know the facts; personal problems and animosity can color assessments, rumors become fact, etc. It's happened numerous times on here.

I bought my gear off Enclave.com. The seller contacted a rigger at my dropzone, and they agreed that he would ship it to her for inspection, and I could demo it to my little heart's content. If I liked it, I'd send him a money order; if I hated it, I'd ship it back. I liked it, so I sent him the money order. I got a Reflex with three jumps on it, a PD 170, a Raven reserve, a Cypres, a gear bag, packing mat and a jumpsuit for $2600. I'm happy as a clam with it.
