  1. Blevins wrote You are getting the hang of it Robert. Skydivers view most federal regulations as optional, at least at DZs. At WFFC we had an unlicensed FM station with enough power so that I could hear the manifest announcements miles away in town. In between announcements we played great music with no BMI or ASCAP licenses. Nobody lost sleep over the FCC and copyright issues. You also got it right about not ratting anyone out. Had Cooper been a member of our club in 71 we would have kept our mouths shut and then insist that he buy all the beer forever. All Cooper had to do is pull one silver handle and he'd have landed alive. The one thing that points to him cratering is the money. Crooks don't throw money away. The money drives me nuts. I just can't figure it out. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

  3. Neither. It was Cooper Vortex force. There's a Nobel Prize waiting for the person who can prove it exists and characterize how it operates. It can torque mental processes too. We see proof daily. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  4. Last major carrier flying them. Still a few exec 727s and a few small cargo outfits, but no more big 727 fleets will grace the skys. http://m.bizjournals.com/seattle/news/2013/06/24/fedex-retires-last-of-boeing-727.html?page=all&r=full 727 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 5. The SR 71 docs were one of many amazing finds by Snowmman. I wish Quade would lift the ban. Snowmman probably already had all the NSA documents that Snowden thought he was releasing for the first time. The designers of server processor chips have incredible opportunities for mischief. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  6. All good points Mr. Shutter. Sheridan Peterson who worked in technical documentation at Boeing arguably could have gained access to the flight test reports. He was a smoke jumper, expert skydiver, had made night jumps and had a huge grudge against the US Govt which he holds to this day. He just doesn't seem like a guy who would threaten to kill people just for money. He witnessed atrocities in Nam and abhors violence. His main screen name is Peacenik Pete. You'd be hard pressed to find a more qualified DBC as far as skills go AND he had at least some inside access to Boeing tech docs. The FBI interviewed him twice and only quit when his DNA didn't match the same they believe is Cooper's. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  7. Amazing. I have a hundred cheapo jumps and I can't imagine how you could get a 3 way round CRW formation with those canopies. Can't really call it a stack. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  8. I was an avid skydiver and airplane nut in 1971. I also owned a huge 727 flight manual then. I couldn't see any way to jump from a 727. The flight manual gave no hints that the rear stairs could be safely deployed in flight. I assumed that they couldn't. I figured there must be a locking system that prevented the stairs from deploying after takeoff. Most airliners have "squat switches" that are triggered by landing gear strut compression and can be used to disable or enable systems. I had no idea that a stock airline 727 could be jumped in 1971. Jo had insisted to me that 727s were jumped in SE Asia. I was sceptical but did some searching and made contact with Dr. Joe Leeker at Univ of TX who had tons of info on CIA and Air America ops in that area. He confirmed the use of 727s for test airdrops over Thailand. Leeker had fantastically detailed records of CIA aircraft and ops during the Viet Nam war. He was very gracious about sharing info. Jo was right about 727s. http://www.utdallas.edu/library/specialcollections/hac/cataam/Leeker/aircraft/ I still think Cooper must have known that a 727 could be jumped. Without that knowledge he was very possibly entering an aluminum jail cell that would prevent his escape until landing. With my 727 knowledge and skydiving experience in 71 I never wound have tried what Cooper did because I could not be sure I could get out of the plane in flight. Not any of the cockpit crew nor anyone at NWA ops could could determine whether the plane could be safely flown stairs down. They had to call Boeing. Turns out Boeing knew because they had done extensive flight tests probably for the CIA. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  9. Blevins wrote Talk about an optimist! LD allegedly drops the loot, can't find any of it and says "our money troubles are over" I like a guy with a positive attitude. Marla may be short on evidence but she sure lit up the symposium. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  10. Blevins wrote Funny. From time to time litigation threats are made and defended here. But actual lawsuits? Never. Ain't gonna happen unless you get a rich fool. Lawyers are too smart to see any contingency case money here. Nobody gets rich doing anything in the Vortex. The Vortex is like the Maelstrom. It wrecks books instead of ships. I wonder if the songs Jo is hearing are the Sirens? I've spent a lot of time at sea and never heard the Sirens call. Closest I saw were the hookers who would gather on the unloading docks at Eureka when the boats would come in full of fish. Tuna crews who had been at sea for a month or more were easy pickings for the strung out junkies who'd have a tough time attracting more discerning customers. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 11. CIA? Surely Marla can do better than that. I can't wait to see what evidence she has to support her claim. Blaming Norjack on the CIA is just the Cooper vortex version of "the dog ate my homework". I know, I know, MK Ultra shows just how crazy the CIA can get, but I see no credible evidence of their involvement in Norjack. What would the motive be? You can run mind control experiments without parachutes. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  12. Jo wrote Got that right Jo. It's a mess. Lawyer's prices are absurd. It's only three years of law school and a one day bar exam. Not nearly as difficult as med school or an engineering or science degree. When I heard a widow in FLA just won the 500+ million powerball lottery I was hoping it was you. Instead it was an 86 year old woman from ZHills. Maybe next time. Georger, have you seen the photos of the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck? Pretty spooky. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 13. This is just part of TIGHAR's annual fund raising campaign. There is no believable evidence that Amelia was headed anywhere but Howland Island. During her last radio transmissions, she was close to Howland and trying to find it, while saying she was low on fuel. The flight down to the TIGHAR site would have taken another three hours and she simply didn't have fuel to get there. Not to mention that there are a number of other islands closer to Howland than Gardner. A few years ago, TIGHAR was claiming to have found a heel from Amelia's shoe. More recently, they claimed to have found a "freckle cream" jar similar to ones Amelia reportedly used. Last year, it was a "wheel" sticking up out of the water and now it is a blip on a sonar map. Next year? Who knows? Robert99 Whatever TIGHAR finds, they always try to link it to AE. Any aluminum is from her plane, even if the rivet spacing doesnt match. Any shoe is her shoe. The freckle cream jar? AE had freckles so of course it was hers. Here is TIGHAR'S side scan sonar image: https://www.google.com/search?q=sonar+earhart+plane&safe=off&rlz=1T4GGNI_enUS522US522&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=twStUZv-B6WbigKB84HoDw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1680&bih=849#facrc=_&imgrc=qaBMkStVFcHapM%3A%3BDKx6FqQTpWR2zM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fstatic.ddmcdn.com%252Fgif%252Felectra-sonar.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fnews.discovery.com%252Fhistory%252Fus-history%252Fsonar-may-reveal-earharts-plane-photos-130529.htm%3B660%3B433 Its so noisy and low res that I dont think you can draw any conclusions about what object produced the echoes. Here is what good high res side scan sonar images a sunken plane look like: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/52050000/jpg/_52050305_52045949.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13000925&h=360&w=640&sz=68&tbnid=Rv23WPES35HeJM:&tbnh=67&tbnw=119&zoom=1&usg=__-DN-qT6XhqNj8b8F7HahJX3XEgU=&docid=mZ4PeCj0PweAFM&sa=X&ei=YAWtUeW7C-aYiALKwoG4Bw&ved=0CFkQ9QEwCw&dur=174 Sure, target depth and boat speed play a large role in image quality, but if TIGHAR thought their image was noteworthy why didn't they do more while on scene? The could have lowered a camera or towed a magnetometer over the suspected aircraft. They could have slowly worked a pattern over the site and obtained better sonar images. There is always tantalizing evidence that is used as bait to fund yet another TIGHAR trip. Sigh... 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  14. Did you get Bureau of Prisons eyeglasses Mr. Shutter? Still got em? And Blevins, the food contraband explanation is certainly plausible, but you're just speculating. Gotta hand it to Mr. Shutter. When he's not flying his vitrtual 727 he's doing some serious document research. I'm impressed. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 15. Don't know about the significance those release dates Mr. Shutter. I do note that our boy Duane couldn't stay out of trouble even in prison. It's hard to read all the notes but I see pilfering, contraband and dealing. He seems to always get caught. Inside, outside, didn't matter. He really seems to fit the old description of "habitual criminal". On the other hand he appears to have spent a few years going legit, and was successful as an insurance salesman. Jo, I sincerely appreciate your offer to mail me a copy of what you sent to the FBI, but I'd be hypocritical if I was part of a selective disclosure deal. Post it. Share it. Air it out. Look at what Tom and the Sleuths did with the TieTanium findings. Look what Bruce did with Norman's chutes. My prediction is that the FBI won't do anything with the info you are sending. They may not even open a sealed package. Too much fear of poison or booby traps. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  16. Blevins wrote Not a good investment Robert. I have a lot of experience with FOIA and federal discovery in criminal cases. It's naive to think that the Feds are going to show you anything juicy just because you fill out the right forms. They have many legal ways of withholding requested info through FOIA exemptions, redactions, etc. They also have the opportunity to "overlook" the existence of targeted info should they choose to do so. You never see what is withheld. Call me a cynic. The Feds involved in responding to discovery and FOIA requests too often think laws are something you must obey absolutely, but their own compliance obligations are flexible. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 18. YouTube has a few videos that demonstrate hungry stadiums munching on demo jumpers. Orthopedic surgeons love stadium jumps. Be careful Airtwardo. I watched Jim Wallace abort a stadium approach before he reached the point of no return and land outside. It was the right choice. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 19. Airtwardo, we with ground jobs were pretty happy until you posted about getting PAID to swoop the St Louis Arch and jump into a Cards game. I'm glad you left out the part about the adoring groupies. That was merciful. Post some pics here after the event. You gotta wear a helmet cam for the Arch jump. The approach footage could be absolutely spectacular. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  20. Just because the FBI says the butts are lost doesn't mean they are. I have no inside info, just sayin. Loss of the butts makes a successful prosecution. VERY VERY unlikely. The govt had possibly exculpatory evidence and failed to preserve it. Motion to dismiss material for sure. It's a moot point if the find other highly probative evidence such as a big stash of Cooper twenties. But if its a highly circumstantial case then loss of those butts doom it. I wouldn't be surprised if those butts are still in govt possession. Maybe they ought to look in that big warehouse where they put the Lost Ark of the Covenent. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  21. Airtwardo wrote These days "finding the truth" seems to take a far second place to "pushing my suspect." Sigh... Sluggo, Orange, Snow, Safe, they had no favorite suspect. 23. Yes, and the Herc FOUND and trailed the 727, something that the F 106s and the mighty SAGE integrated radar system were not able to accomplish. Can you imagine the Herc pilots' pride when returning to McChord and running into the "masters of the universe" F 106 fighter jocks? The F 106 was equipped with the MA1 control system that had a two way data link (radiotelemetry) to SAGE. This allowed intercept commands from the ground based radar to control the F 106 autopilot. The F 106 not only had air intercept radar but some models had an IRST infrared heat tracker that could be used to find jet exhaust from a taget aircraft at quite a distance. The Herc only had weather radar which was nearly useless for air intercept functions. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  24. C 123 was a real beast Amazon. Single engine performance at full gross weight was miserable. Later versions (C 123K) added two jets. Whats a "vibro" model C 130? I and many other happy WFFC campers jumped the oldest Herc still flying: N131EC, an RAAF surplus C 130A with three bladed props. I think it was built in 1958. It's still active today. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
