I bought a NVertigo-X, without a chincup, and jump all the time with my PC9 and D-box attached. When I bought it, I had ~60 jumps, wasn't on here and didn't have access to the information that everyone else has here on dz.com at the time, but this is my opinion. I spent $290 for my Nvertigo-X, and although it works well, if I knew then what I know now, I would never have bought it, and would have bought a Bonehead. Jose jumped mine, and I think it is a lot like motorcycle helmets. Arai helmets are the only ones that fit me. Shoei are great also, but I can't wear them. Regardless of the size, my head is shaped to not like Shoei, and perfect in Arai. So long story short, try a couple of your friends, or if you jump near a Square 1,2,3, then try all different types and sizes, and see which one fits you best. Simple answer, (agreed, wait until you have more jumps, then note my suggestions), is: Used PC9 New PC101 New PC120 I think that by the time you get the 150-200 jumps to know what is going on without the distractions of a camera ready to snag everything that comes out of your back, I'm sure there will be plenty of used PC101s and PC120s, and perhaps some used boxes also... But my most important suggestion, GET A SONY mini-DV!!! ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

I feel sorry for the guy that thought he was a pimp over at Rantoul with his micro-dv... It sure was small and cool, but I agree, skydivers should run from those micro-dv cameras at all costs... Maybe a solution to the PC101 problem would be to not let it go into it's hibernation mode or whatever it does after 5 minutes of activity? (just keep taking a 1 sec record every 4 minutes?) Or maybe drill a large hole out of the back so you have access to the little switch that controls the VCR/off/camera/memstick, but doesn't mess with the integrity of the box???
