Anyone have problems with Premiere???

If I can treak my system, that would be ideal. Let me see what I can throw out there... Dell Inspiron 8200, P4/1.6, 256RAM, 32mb video, 40gb hd, and I have Premiere 6.0, getting 6.5 again, Avid 3.5, and Studio 7. I can't figure out the first thing with Avid, and love Premiere- here are the problems... When I export to tape, everything is great for about 30-45 seconds, and then tehre is about one second of either blue screen inserted, pixelation, freezing, gray screen, etc. I thought taht this was part of the chipset problem mentioned earlier, but if I can tweak this, that would be great. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -

Pretty much spent my whole life being the person that can go to sleep at night with a good conscience. I've only met one girl that I think really was looking for a nice guy. But throughout the history of Peter, I have been screwed over by every girl, one by one. I think they misunderstand my being nice as an oppertunity to push the limits and take advantage of things. I'm always on the lookout for the nice girl, and instead of being a dick that I know might be more attractive to them, I am going to keep being me, and continue to wait for the right girl, with the right values, to come along, and accept me for the nice guy that I am... No doubt. My friends took me whitewater rafting, and I don't think I'll ever do that again. Didn't make sense to them, and I don't think I can explain it. But I felt scared and didn't like it the whole time I was doing it, and couldn't wait for it to be over. Kept on thinking about falling out (I'm an excellent swimmer), but kept thinking about getting my kidneys ripped open on a sharp rock when I fell out. Jumping out of a plane is perfectly safe, though, I can't remember the last time I was scared getting out of a plane... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

So since I am lazy, and looking for the easiest alternative... Is there a way to get Premiere 5.0 to work with my PC9 for exports? Kind of like working in 6.5, and then opening 5.0, bringing in the timeline, and then sending it out? This really would be a lot easier if Adobe and everyone else would solve this chipset problem that I cannot even begin to understand.... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
Ouch, forecasting 10 days into the future in Colorado? I'll go out there just for the change, and that has nothing to do with Mile-Hi slowing down, and having to be there 6 hours for 2 jumps... Yes, school is getting in the way of having fun... Out of high school, went off and got a double BS in Aerospace and Criminalistics. Didn't want to repay student loans, went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ for a Masters in Aerospace. Still didn't want to repay loans, now I am working on two more Master's Degrees, an MBA, and a MS- International Business at Univ of Colorado... Please tell me it will be over soon... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

I just fly camera to film my friends and I freeflying, and therefore just set it to film where I am looking, most of the time. I know if I go out with a friend of mine who is a student, and we go on our belly, I just remember to look up and stretch my neck... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

What does everyone use for DV capture and editing?

Well, I just got a new Dell Inspiron 8200, P4/1.7G, 256mb/40GbHD/WinXP/etc. The firewire card is built in, and I don't have any problems with the capture of video, and I have little gremlins in there with Premiere 6.0/6.5. Sometimes is just stops at a certain frame in my finished video, and moves in slow motion. (1 frame/5 secs...) But on exporting to tape, teh problem is that every 45 secs or so, it just throws a gray block in for about a sec, or just freeze frames it. I guess Cahones knows about this, and it seems to be a known problem, but everyone just keeps pointing a finger at each other, as far as software/hardware/etc... Sucks, and I think I am going to try Studio 8 to see if I can get something done.... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
