USNavy catch/release program concerning terrorists
konradptr replied to konradptr's topic in The Bonfire
The US Navy today announced that it has released a senior terrorist after questioning him extensively for 27 days while he was held prisoner aboard a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea. In a humanitarian gesture the terrorist was given $50 US and a white Ford Fairlane automobile upon being released from custody. The attached photo shows the terrorist on his way home just after being released by the Navy. If you've seen it on dz.com 10+ times already, I am sorry.. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
How much are normal jump tickets at your US DZ???
konradptr replied to konradptr's topic in The Bonfire
There are discounts for cash everywhere, etc. The new price (eff 04-01-03) at Mile-Hi is $21, and add an extra 3% if you are paying with anything but cash. There are no block discounts, no referral discounts, no team discounts, etc... So jumps in Denver will be a minimum of $21, and if you don't have cash, $21.63... And they want to raise it more, we'll wait- I would assume it will go up before the end of the summer.... And these prices are to 12,000agl... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -

Yes, the secret is out, hehe. This weekend, a film crew from the UK came out and did an interview for a documentary concerning that slurry bomber that almost hit me. Should be entertaining, it took most of Saturday afternoon, and Sunday all day. As soon as I get a copy, I'll out a copy of it on ftp.skydivingmovies.com. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -

Well, Mile-Hi was thinking about raising it to $22, but then settled on $21 for now... Just wait, the season isn't over.... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -

Yea, I think I am limiting it down to US dropzone, since I heard that DZs in Japan charge $50-60.. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -

Not really talking about discount group and team rates, or boogie tickets. Just wondering if anyone else outside Denver is going to have to pay $21 for a ride to 12,000agl starting April... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
That sucks. My dog was born on my 18th birthday, and was with me for almost 11 years Last Monday, he was sick, so we took him to the vet, and it turned out that the reason for his illness was massive cancer. Within 6 days, he was gone. My dog left our world Monday, March 10th. Pretty much it is one program that loads up, but it has your user names and passwords saved. Then, just like AOL talks to AOL, Trillian talks to all of them for you, so if you have AOL/YM/ICQ, talking to people on all three is really no different than talking to all of them on just one of the services... There are little x's and check's that tell you which ones are connected.. Very easy, very simple, and very convienient... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

My only question is: How many terrorists can we kill with each one of these? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

I read an article in one of my business journals that AOL-TimeWarner was looking at how to get some income from the most popular, and free, service. Sounds like they are beginning to tighten the reigns. I would also recommend Trillian, it is one program that controls AOLIM, YahooMessenger, ICQ, etc... Very easy to use, and no AOL BS!!! ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

I was going to get upset that there wasn't more video of me in the movie, and then I remembered that I flew like crap that weekend... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

How accurate are sectionals and terminal pilot charts? Anyone seen any discrepancies, fudge-factors, etc built into them? How accurate are those skydiving wristwatch altimeters? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Jose, I didn't get a chance to check out the video of Team Denim/Rainbow, but as soon as I get near some extremely-high-speed internet hookup, I will have it within 4-6 hours. I noticed that there isn't a whole lot of good video of you, but there is this guy wearing white and yellow pants, and this other incredible jumper wearing a blue and purple suit. For you, I would stay away from the Wranglers. The possibility might exist that you would want to put a pull-up cord in your pocket, and as you know, those ultra-tight Wranglers wouldn't work. I was also going to ask you for the number of that chick that is in teh video, I think she is wearing a yellow Hawkeye, blue freefly pants, only sit-flies, and has a cute rainbow on the back of her rig. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

That sucks that other people's PC9s are falling from the middle atmosphere and still working, and mine goes 45 days out of warranty, and starts acting up. And Sony wants almost $300 to look at it and fix it... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

"Spinner", I really hope that you haven't updated your user profile for a while. Not only do you look really young in your icon, but I question the safety of video editing when you have under a hundred jumps. I would strongly suggest that you have at least 8,000-10,000 jumps before you attempt to use Pinnacle Studio 7. Remember, just like taking videos is more than sticking a camera on your head, video editing is more than just taking the video and cutting it into interesting and visually pleasing clips. There are many things to be considered, like how much P-Chong content there is, and if there is anything on the video that might cause P-Chong to be indicted. I'm just thinking about your safety, and video editing is full of dangers that you might want to prepare for. BTW, that video named "colorado.wmv" is awesome, it reminds me of this video that I made.. What was the name of your video? Just a detail that a couple of us were wondering about... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Yea, it is a PC-9, and the Sony manual just says that I should send it in, no user servicable parts etc... Just trying to figure out the free repair, before I shell out $275 for the Sony action, on a $500 camera... :( ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Ick, that canopy is WAY too big. How are you going to swoop into the combat zone with 120 of gear hanging off you without a tiny elliptical? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Just wondering if anyone has had a Sony that comes up with the error code C:31:23, and a lot of tape crinkling, especially in rewinding? Guess it happens quite a bit, just wondering how cheap it was to fix, etc... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Hey CrazyThomas: What is your motivation for annoying pretty much everyone on every board that you enter? It seems that you might be confused as to which is a BASE forum, where people talk about how not to get hurt and killed, and the Playstation2, GameCube, and X-Box sites that you might be more familiar with. Grow up and stop wasting my time and energy... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......
