Fuck!!!!!!!! Damn this thread. Ruined my day. George Carlin made me laugh harder than any other comedian, not just because of the content of his jokes but his ability to paint a picture and deliver it perfectly. This the funniest shit ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6zj5nhASk0

I love how they are listing off the uses for it, and when it comes to the messed up looking dude smoking the pipe, you think its going to be "medicinal purposes" or something, but instead it says "inspiration". Lets get fucked up and invent some shit yo! P.S. Bill, is your beard still raging? That guy in the beginning of the video had a pretty nice one, ha!

SkyDance SkyDiving's 2008 American Boogie!
LongWayToFall replied to tiggershunny's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Its all good, I don't have to jump it for all of my jumps. Even when I am not jumping, I look forward to just kicking it and watching the big ways.... That will be cool. I doubt I will have my B license before the boogie, so it looks like I will help tap the keg before the midnight jumpers get on the ground... -
Badass. I wanna see someone shoot that thing with slugs, can u say recoil?

I love juicing too. Makes me sound like the guy from your video

Damn you guys are all super anal. 200lbs with a 150sq ft canopy gives you a 1.333 lb/sq.ft ratio. It also gives you a .75 sq.ft/lb ratio. They are both correct, just expressed in different ways. However, it is always better that everyone use a uniform way of expressing this ratio, and that way is lb/sq.ft. So, try not to give newbs advice that is confusing! OP: the advice was you want a canopy that is 1.0 or less wingloading, meaning the your weight with gear is the same as the square footage of the canopy, or less. Frankly though, you will learn allot about canopies in your training and should not worry about it now!! Just listen to your instructors and relax.....

So how do the loads work? Can you specify that you want to jump the CASA, or do they just assign you to a certain airplane? My buddy and I are dying to jump the tailgate. Who knows some cool exits for that thing?? -
Its a 4 cylinder, right? A new head gasket shouldn't run you more than 600-800, most likely less. How many miles does it have? It might be time to replace the timing belt while you are in there, if it has a ton of miles then possibly a valve job as well.

Why can't you use a catalytic converter? if the engine is tuned right, it won't load up the cat unless you are at high altitude like your example. Cat converters suck anyways Also, I think instead of "carbureted car in the shop" you mean "carburated car in your garage". Cleaning out the carb takes only a couple minutes, and if you keep your fuel filter clean it hardly ever needs it. Man, I love carbs. But alas, fuel injection is here to stay. I just wish sensors were of a high enough quality that they didn't require frequent replacement. 67 Malibu............ Mmmmmmm..............

150 jumps is a few, you might consider calling ahead to see about getting a room in the bunkhouse. Otherwise, there is room for a tent in the carpeted side hanger

That gas is coming from somewhere, that somewhere is probably your head gasket. Do like diablo said and get the coolant tested, or a leakdown test will also show the problem. When head gaskets fail, they can do so in all manors, they have oil, coolant, and combustion chamber gases in them, and they all can get traded one way or the other. So nothing coming out the exhaust means nothing. (and is usually not what happens)

Reattaching velcro to the inside of a helmet
LongWayToFall replied to VTmotoMike08's topic in Gear and Rigging
Be careful of strong solvents and glue, they can damage the carbon fiber. I just reglued the velcro in my new (to me) bonehead lid, using hot glue. The pieces are stuck in there real good, I'm not worried about them, and the hotglue isn't going to damage anything. Rubbing alcohol cleans the surface nicely (get the rag damp first, don't dump it on there). Apply the hot glue to the helmet, not the velcro, because it will stay liquid much longer that way. This will require you to use a sharpie to mark where you want them to go. Hope this helps. Oh, and rubbing alcohol doesn't contain oil. -

Why are you knocking carbs? Some very fuel efficient vehicles have come out with them in the past. They also are very simple, and when your brand new car is getting sensors replaced, it is still rolling down the road......

If you were an instructor, would you train him? No. Because you wouldn't know for certain he would be able to deal with problems properly, and if he died it would be blood on your hands. Thats a cool article. They also had one on him in parachutist (maybe it was skydiving?) that was equally interesting and fun to read.

If someone wanted to not make the info public, they could always tell the DZO or someone who is always at the dz, that way if they are injured the person who has the info could let first responders know not to exchange certain fluids

You can get everything you need to start making biodiesel for a couple hundred bucks. Check out the appleseed reactor. Also, 1.60-1.75 would be without the oil, just the cost of the methanol and lye. Oil by itself is only slightly cheaper than gas, so once you add it to the cost it becomes more. Waste oil is the only way to make it profitable.

Your numbers are off because you are saying 1 gallon of gas coming out of the pipe in your house is equal to one gallon of gasoline, which it isn't. You need to go by weight, or better yet the amount of energy per gallon compaired to gasoline.

I'm gunna sneak some LSD into your morning coffee and blast Floyd in your ears all day long! Seriously though, getting way high and spacing out on some PF is the bomb. You gotta turn it up to 11 though. +1 Shine on crazy diamond
