    Gun laws that prohibit certain configurations that are readily changed ONLY hurt the people who intend not to do harm. Here is an example how you could very easily, and legally, possess an assault rifle that has no serial number. Buy an AK parts kit online, as well as a stamped receiver. Bend the receiver, and assemble the gun. Here in California, you cannot purchase high capacity magazines, but you can buy "parts kits" which just means it is disassembled. Fully automatic parts are legal too, the receiver just can't accept the parts. So, in a short amount of time, all you have to do is (illegally) modify your receiver and (illegally) install full auto trigger group, (illegally) assemble the 100 round drum magazine, and you are killing spree ready!

    I had no plans to see it, and honestly thought it would suck, but was invited by a couple friends so I went this afternoon. It was pretty good! I certainly feel the comment about it being a propaganda piece, but it didn't take away from the movie. The affects were cool, and it was a good movie overall.

    I read some of the rules, I guess the unlimited class is just that, no restrictions on the engine. Nitrous, turbo, supercharger, whatever. I dig it!

    Those cars are sweet. I saw a video once of them driving across water, I guess with enough speed and large enough paddle tires they just skip along the surface. It was impressive!

    What does the state have to gain from legalizing/decriminalizing? I can tell you with absolute certainty that if you go to one of the club's doctors and tell them the right things, you will get a 1 year pass for the clubs. Letting anybody into the clubs is already being done, but keeps the ignorant happy because they think it is only accessible by "patients". It is a win win. The state is already charging taxes. I am in favor of reducing the penalty of possession from misdemeanor to a simple fine, for those that choose not to become medical MJ patients. I think that if you grow in your own house, smoke in your own house, and don't operate a vehicle for a reasonable amount of time, then the government has no business to interfere.

    Can't tell you anything about boogies, but when I was in Cabo they were doing a tandem operation that was landing on the beach. Looked sweet! They said 500 jumps minimum experience. Looked like they were putting up plenty of loads though.

    I gotta give a thumbs up towards Monterey. The views are sweet, and so is the plane. Don't expect to make many jumps though, they are geared for tandems. I have not been to Hollister but they are much more up jump friendly, so it depends on how many jumps you are trying to do. If I was you, I would take the coast all the way down from SF, past Santa Cruz, to the Monterey DZ. Then, I would cut back over to the 101 and head down that way. Lompoc is right there if you wanted to try that. The 5 sucks, 101 is much nicer, and 1 the whole way down the coast is slow and very very twisty. If you have a sports car or like that sort of thing, its a very scenic and fun option though. Stop by big Sur. Anyways, hope you have a good time!     Sort of like motorcycle chains, lots of lubes are sticky because they last longer, but in reality they just attract dirt and destroy the o rings faster. WD40 is the best. Also something worth noting, is that rope gets weaker when it is wet, I would think that wax dissolved into it might have the same effect.
