I understand why some of us quit the sport...

good to see more guys like you around. Most people I know give the whole its a business routine and ask ridiculous amounts for pack jobs and such. Good man don't try your bullshit with me!!! -
I agree whatever works for that certain person. I use clamps and aside from that use the least amount of tools possible. They help me have a more tidy pack job. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

Don't quit! I feel down lately because I am in college and don't have the money do jump. I probably won't for a while and i have just gotten to where it doesn't drive me crazy anymore. It will all pass. I did go and get my riggers ticket so that I am not at the mercy of others. Maybe doing that might spark you back up and maybe it is not the right time. Just chill out for a bit and try to stay positive. don't try your bullshit with me!!! -
I weigh anywhere from 215-225 usually and so I know the feeling of sinking out all the time. I called sherry at Firefly suits she built me a suit and I love it. Very reasonable on price. Mine cost $265 and that is with the shipping and tax. She knew the exact cut I needed just by hearing me tell her my weight and build and how I fly. She is really on it. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

There are a lot of excellent canopy pilots at eugene from a few videos I have seen. You have to bug people to help you sometimes. If you ask, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't help you out. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

I own a viper 150 and I think that it is an excellent canopy. If you go to the alpha and space canopy reviews (which is under Atair) one of the last reviews has a lot of details on the viper. It is fully elliptical, and has tons of flare. You could bring it straight in or really swoop the piss out of it. Has very solid and gentle openings. I guarantee, you will be happy with this canopy. edit to add I looked and it is the second review under the alpha. Also forgot to mention that the zp that is used is extremely easy to pack. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

that would have sucked! I pack with the least amount of tools possible. I keep a checklist too. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

that was the point I was making don't try your bullshit with me!!!

I totally agree. Given some people who do work jumps cannot avoid this though. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

the bic one is kind of like the one i have used before. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

Friend of mine bought the xaos 27 because he had neck problems and needed a solid opener. I don't fly x braced so can't say much more, but he is an excellent canopy pilot and he loves his. Precision canopies tend to be a bit cheaper in price too. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

ah i see don't try your bullshit with me!!!

what value would worn out closing loops have for the dz. Maybe I'm missing the point. As for it breaking while closing. You need to replace way before it breaks, you should be able to see the wear on it before it breaks. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

My PC 109 is dead, long live my PC 109!

I hope mine doesn't screw up! I liked my 101 a little better. Too bad the SOB flew off my helmet at about 7k. That will ruin your day. don't try your bullshit with me!!! -
I won't say that it is not true. I and others that I know have packed (really helped pack) our own reserves with a rigger, before I got my riggers ticket. I would really not doubt that a few pack their own. Screwing with reserves and not following the rules set by FAA can get ya bed in breakfast in a prison pretty quick. You don't sound like you would do that though. To all it is not a good idea. There are also people who will report you if they hear about it. I would do it on a personal level first, but once again not a good idea. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

usually the dz will give you one if you ask. Reason, is that if your closing loop is ragged and you jump it thinking that it might make it the rest of the day until you can get one somewhere else, and lets say you have a premi and screw up the plane (like hitting the tail or something) 1) that would suck 2) the dz has to spend thousands fixing 3)it could have been prevented by giving away a few cents worth of material. Good investment for the dz. So back to the point is that I don't see why the dz wouldn't have them readily available. Make friends with your local riggers. Probably way to much info and probably did not answer your question but you shouldn't really have to buy them yourself. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

I would tell those dz's to screw themselves if they wanted belly groups out last. That just stupid don't try your bullshit with me!!!
