  1. Jerry, Revising interpretations (regulating) is different than doing away with the 2nd - which is what I believe Biden is saying. If he means less than that; I'd ask him to be more specific. In Heller, the issue was a complete ban on owning handgun weapons. It also stated that the right to bear arms is not unlimited and that guns and gun ownership would continue to be regulated. But, after that - it was like everyone just dropped a hot potato on regulation. Hence, my continuous point on "Well-Regulated."
  2. ? “The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.” “We are aware of the problem of handgun violence in this country, and we take seriously the concerns raised by the many amici who believe that prohibition of handgun ownership is a solution,” Scalia concluded. “The Constitution leaves the District of Columbia a variety of tools for combating that problem, including some measures regulating handguns. But the enshrinement of constitutional rights necessarily takes certain policy choices off the table.”
  3. Some days you make it hard not to love you. :)
  4. Welcome Back!! You want the serious answer? Upsize your canopies.
  5. Both guilty. And, as a Canadian, I can understand your opinion - not agree, but understand. I do vehemently believe in the Bill of Rights. Uncompromising, in its entirety and as a whole.
  6. That's incorrect. Read it again. We can have both. I'm beginning to think you're being more obstinate for another reason.
  7. it's one suggestion. Charge the manufacturers five cents per gun in exchange for a hold-harmless. I've owned guns (and am a former FFL) in which all my guns have been registered - not once has anyone knocked on my door and asked for my guns. All guns. That's one of my issues with our friends across the aisle. Hunting guns can do more damage than the scary looking ones. For me; it's like saying the Ford F-150 should be outlawed because it kills the most people in accidents. Well, it's the most popular truck, not the most lethal. But, yes, all guns. Incentivize.
  8. I cannot, Phil. It's an old stat from the 90's when CCW was entertained by additional states and the stats from Vermont (I think) as a constitutional carry state were being analyzed. I was using it more as an example of sharing information, rather than memes. As long as "illegal" guns were concurrently confiscated and smelted.
  9. Your friend is incorrect. Robbery and theft are two separate commissions.
  10. That's bullshit, Ken. I've posted a plan on here several times over the past three years. I've sent it to representatives. We've had a fellow skydiver use it for their platform to run for office. Please don't talk about my "willingness." I've had the balls to go against one of my party's biggest platforms. I'm tired of getting a call from the school (as recent as yesterday) that my daughter's school is on lockdown. You have any idea what that makes the soldier in me want to do. I can go to other countries to protect theirs, but I can't even protect my own.
  11. A challenge; yes, but not unachievable. A database with cradle-to-grave ownership and transference not unlike vehicles would allow for a three-five year process of removing unregistered arms.
  12. I also have a theory that the "safety-less" preferred Glock is an issue. I'm a big believer in a slide safety. I wonder if sometimes, in an adrenaline-induced state that gripping the glock too tightly has caused a round to go off resulting in a flurry of following rounds by the cop or fellow cops.
  13. You're right, you have contributed additional information, but after a few pages the link to the thought process gets eaten by the Internet. I think that not unlike drivers not having insurance, we can reduce the number of criminals who have guns without shitting on the 2nd amendment. When Biden says, "The 2nd amendment is not an absolute;" I cringe.
  14. I disagree. The two are separate and distinct issues.

Ahh. OK. Except the Army believes the whole world is a DZ, therefore . . :) I was wondering if I hadn't had enough coffee or if Joe was having sunrise Mimosas on the beach again.
  16. I'm not sure why you cherry-picked one memey-looking thing from 2nd Amendment, but the end result is you've set yourself up as a target. Why not expand your point and provide some depth, rather than doing the fuckbooky thing of a single post. Why not go into the actual number of crimes prevented each year by CCW's - cause the news won't. Share the FBI Stats on CCW's lowering murder rates by 8.5% and rapes by 5%. Make this more of an intellectual discussion. I don't "think" anyone on here fully supports removing the 2nd Amendment - they're just discussing ways of keeping criminals from having easy access to guns. Feel free to join the discussion - but, it can't be done with a one-liner and some fuckbook meme.

    covid-19

Yeah, but it's hard money to make; and the toll on your body in later years... sheesh.
  19. Ummm. No. You can't adjudicate while sipping Pina Coladas at Sharky's. Well, Zoom. I guess you could use Zoom.

    covid-19

According to a recent NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist poll, 49 percent of Republican men do not plan to get vaccinated, a higher percentage than any other demographic group in the United States. I see that as 49% more available Republican women in the near future.
  21. You & Jerry are both right. There's just some things . . ya know.
  22. Gary Ronald Lanham of Hominy/Skiatook, Oklahoma October 19, 1952 - March 12, 2021 Gary Lanham, age 67, passed from this life on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was born October 19, 1952 to John and Rosella (Wibberding) Lanham in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Kansas and California and was a 1970 graduate of Long Beach Poly High School in California. He entered the US Air Force in 1973 in which he served for over 29 years. He retired from the Oklahoma Air National Guard in 2004 as a Chief Master Sgt. (E-9). We lost Gary last month. While not a big name in skydiving, he was a big name in skydiving to the local community here in Oklahoma. Gary was one of those guys with a perpetual smile on his face, a kind word for and about everyone. He would go to the WFFC and local regional skydive boogies around Oklahoma. He put the "fun" in fun jumper. Every year; he hosted an accuracy jump at his property north of Skiatook, OK and would put out a big white "X" with a bottle of crown in the middle of it. Closest to the bottle won and then he would fire up the grill and there would be a feast. He did this in conjunction with a picnic for the local Air National Guard. Gary was all about community. When the local Skiatook Airport's entry aircraft became unsightly and dilapidated, he put together a committee to raise funds to renovate the aircraft. Gary was a Project Manager in Telecomm and his PMP skills carried over into everything he did for the community after he retired (although, he never really retired - he was always doing something). He will be missed by many of us here in Oklahoma and we will always cherish his friendship.
