People don't read anything anymore unless its been pushed to them in the form of a meme on fuckbook. Course, we might be able to get 100% vaccinated is there was a facebook meme, "Want a ten inch dick, get the vaccine!!!" You'll be proud and so will she!! No pumps, no pills, just your own natural ten inch self!! </smartass mode>

So, Kallend posts information from Michael Mann and you challenge him with a blogger that won the, "Tallest Climate Tale of 2019" Award: https://www.netzerowatch.com/we-have-a-winner-tallest-climate-tale-of-2019/ Do you not understand that you're embarrassing yourself?

I just had to look that up and this was first: "Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, the funniest report I saw stated, “My penis swelled to ten times its size.” It is easy for an anti-vaccine activist—someone who is categorically opposed to vaccines and who sees themselves as a hero saving humanity from a costly mistake—to simply cherry-pick scary VAERS reports and present them as proof that a vaccine is known to cause serious harm and death, a tactic we could call “VAERS scare.” VAERS, when utilized in the right way by the right people, can be a fantastic early warning system to detect vaccine adverse reactions, especially those that were too rare to be detected in the clinical trials that preceded approval of the vaccine. It is a tool and like any tool it can unfortunately be misused." SOURCE: https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/covid-19-critical-thinking-health/dont-fall-vaers-scare-tactic I guess my issue with weaponizing VAERS is the cost of data integrity both in time and in lives. Perhaps it's time for VAERS to be changed to a physician-only DB.

Brothers, they both said just about the same thing at different times in different forum threads together.

Perhaps he'll drink it over and over. Eventually his noise level will go down.

Umm.. not really. It can fire as fast you can pull the trigger. Something has to keep the sere depressed or the sere filed down to make it truly automatic. Both of these done in your garage is a felony (and additional felonies for each weapon). Not something you want to entertain. So, let's define assault weapon properly not by the liberal definition - cause just about anything that "looks" tactical and military is the scary "assault rifle." An assault rifle is any weapon that has a gas-operated blowback and is full auto. Everything else is just a rifle. With regard to storage - if you can afford weapons, you can afford a safe. If you feel the need to have one or two pistols at quick disposal located in a couple of strategic locations in the house - get a biometric release safe. They run about $189. If you're going to carry in your vehicle; the same biometric release safe can be mounted in the vehicle. If you're going to carry on your person, know what the laws for state are regarding carry (open/concealed/constitutional) and be trained on using it - and go to the range and practice - frequently. Note: If you're going to carry, you may wish to consider a slide safety - not that bullshit Glock or Springfield Arms - just have to squeeze safety. Give yourself that one split nanosecond to have to flip the safety lever down to ensure that you really really want to shoot this person AND look pass the shot. To Joe's point - THE BEST home defense you can have is a 12 gauge "automatic" or "pump" Not automatic fire - automatic reload the cartridge from the chamber, whereas, the pump needs to be wracked after each round - with alternating rounds of 00 Buck and deer slugs. And, if you do this - you need to put it in the safe when you leave the house. When you're in the house, put it up high in the bedroom over the closet door on a couple of rifle hooks, so wee people can't inadvertently get to it. NOTE: Not necessarily directed to you - but the group.

Apologies for just now seeing. I'm not sure if you're aware of a trucker's network that does just this sort of thing: https://www.facebook.com/OperationRoger/ Best to you & Lawrocket.

Evening Jerry, There are some crimes that make me question my position on the Death Penalty.

I thought we met at a WFFC. When Bill posted the Thailand Big Way, I recognized you. I was probably scoping out your date :) You're referring to a conversation we had a couple/three years ago. It revolved around my better half bringing up the definition of death as the heart stops. Therefore, can it be said that life starts when the heart starts beating. If memory serves, there was no real medical definition of the heart starting and when, so we left it at that. Or, maybe I left it at that. It got quite heated. This road is a bit fucked up for me - so I leave it at - I've had varying views on it over the years, from full opposition (as a form of birth control) to now; none of my business.

I'm in a discussion with a Christian Motorcycle Club when one of them quotes Hagin. I ask him - doesn't it bother you guys that he lives in a mansion, has maids and butlers, flies a jet around the world and is everything opposite of what the bible teaches. Well, you simply don't understand the Doctrine of Prosperity. The what? The Doctrine of Prosperity. I guess not. So, I look it up later - yup, it's a thing. Prosperity Theology

Cari & I had lunch yesterday and the subject of this abortion thread came up. She is very religious and goes to church a couple of times a week. We are both of the mindset that we are personally opposed to abortion, but who are we to judge what others have to, want to, or need to do. Your question is the perfect example and we discussed that exact scenario (except it was any woman who had been raped). To make some law that she could not have an abortion would make her have to face that incident in a very different way than most rape victims. A law like that would be criminal in itself. We are both opposed to rescinding or modifying RvW in any way.

They didn't do very well this year.

Agreed.

Huh? Are you kidding, or do you really thing religion is governing policy? Tell me about all the Christian values and how they form the core of the Republican Party policies. Tribalism is the only influence religion is having. The Taliban. or the Cristian fundamentalist it is all the same. They completely ignore the "word of god" that they claim to believe in and only care about power for their group. You do realize that your entire rant brought you back full circle to supporting the point I was making. And, you could have googled,, "do you really thing religion is governing policy"

Thanks, Phil. I don't do it for Baubles and Bling. Extremely satisfying when a Vet finishes a program, gets a job, keeps his/her marriage and says, "Thank you."
-
How often does THAT happen? :) You do realize that most of the world influences social/political policy based on their religious beliefs. And, given that about 85% of the world has some form of faith; I can't help but wonder if they are concerned about people with a lack of faith influencing social/political policy.

That's no longer valid. Chicago Public Schools - Free University of Chicago - Free to Low Income (<$125,000) All across the county - Colleges are offering "Free" education. Arizona Promise, California Promise, etc. Here in Tulsa, a High School student can start attending college for free under the Tulsa Achieves Program and finish their Associates the same time they finish High School. They can attend Tulsa Tech (for free) at 16 while remaining in HS - which has a matriculation agreement for most of the trades to get hours in college towards a degree in that field. Google has certificate programs that one can take on-line - for free Solar Power Installer Programs - For Free The list goes on and on. Maybe you could go to an under-privileged neighborhood, open a store-front and teach them all the ways to get an education - for free. Cause guns cost money. I spend about 10-20 hours a week helping Veterans get in colleges or trade school - even down to a foundation that helps Veterans with PTSD become a Blacksmith. Help your community out.

It'll never work, Jerry - Most believe in a God. And, we all know that those who believe in God are idiots for looking up to a sky wizard. No way a bunch of idiots can turn things around. Lift Every Voice Oregon (LEVO) is a coalition of faith-based communities: Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and other people of goodwill. Our grassroots organization, run primarily by volunteers, is advocating for safer schools, houses of worship, and communities. We now number in the thousands from all over the state in our shared commitment to challenging the status quo as we work towards this important goal. Our voice has been heard by people throughout the state as we push to reduce gun violence in Oregon and the nation.

Thanks for the detailed response. It requires that we give a shit about everyone. What I mean is - be an educator, not an agitator.

Sky, my point begins with tone. There was a time when we were more decent, civil, courteous, and all the other synonyms that go with decency. We all remember a time when you got to a four way stop and everyone would wave each other through instead of trying to blast through and flip each other off. The true beginning of the loss of decency came about with social media. When everybody started hollering at each other and nobody was talking. Right here on DZ.com. We talked. Not only did I enjoy the conversations, but learned things, learned about myself. I didn't feel as though I was in a constant verbal tennis match with the ball being hit harder to drive me away from middle, but softer to being me closer to that center net. This is my view of the world now. Tone & Decency. Not everyone on the other side is an extremist and yet we talk to each other that way. Nothing starts out with a point anymore. It starts out with if you're on the right, you must be a Nazi trump loving idiot. And the left, tree-hugging, gay loving, Marxists who believe in unicorns and fairy dust. Dare bring up God and YOU are the antichrist and your religion is responsible for ALL the world's problems. We had some right-wings that brought up Muslims as enemies and the left cried foul, but that same cry can't be heard when the discussion is about Christianity. Maybe we've grown apart over the years since we're no longer in proximity, but it seems we could do a better job of talking with each other instead of at each other. Decency - argued past or present. How about we start here and now and work towards the future. Not all the world's ills were started by ALL on the right, or Christians, or Left, or Atheists', or Marxists, or Muslims, or Jews, or Black or White. There's always been a fringe to each stirring up the pot.
