Agreed. You were typing as I was editing. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

He was a politician considerably longer than he was an actor. But, not to make light of your point. He will be admittedly playing on the public's knowledge of him as a person from his acting career. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

That's because you put a question mark at the end, rather than the period; which implies a rising inflection of curiousity to illicit a response. Now, If I ask the question, "What is a PLF?" with that rising inflection of curiousity, I will probably illicit the response, "Parachute Landing Fall" which is the correct answer. However; if I say, "Tell me about a PLF," what would your response be? Okay, Okay, Okay... I'll stop now.... Agreed? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

"...because I've found you have to make it clear that you're asking a question if you expect an answer." Ahhh... You were not looking for an answer; you were looking for a response. Sometimes the answer is an illocutionary force. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I wonder when the last time Turtle got some hoo hah. Tell me what a PLF is. Tell me how you'd perform your emergency procedures. Consider the number of hook-turn related fatalities. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Imperative questions do not require a question mark. Do they? Or not... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

They are an embarrassment to us, There is nothing "security" about them. Lazy, unprofessional, slovenly, little people with badges to pump sunshine up their egos. Most of them wouldn't make a good gas station attendant. You want security? Bring in some folks from Blackwater, Triple Canopy, The Steele Foundation, etc. to run it. 757 landing approach at Tegucigalpa, Honduras - yikes!!!
BIGUN replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
That's exactly how I remember landing there (but in a 727)... I was sitting on the left side looking at the runway. Yes, there is a cliff at the end of the runway. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
How does one abbreviate "abbreviated?" Hmmm... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Good. Never buy a Harley again until you've ridden the Suzuki Boulevard. Owned 7 Harleys in this lifetime and bought a Suzuki Intruder 1500 (now the Boulevard). Half the price, finer ride and with some Vance/Hines pipes on it... Well, no more Harleys for me. Ever. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Sure looks purty, but till you show me a pic of a 427 bored out to 433 under the hood for starters, she could be just another 6 cyclinder with a cool-ass paint job. Need some specs, ma' man. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

your thoughts on the main story on front page?
BIGUN replied to caspar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The article on the home page has been shortened a bit from the original case study. The original case study was done during a time and the sources cited were from an era of learning more about how our genetic and chemical make-up affect personality. During the late 70's to the mid-80's, (which was actually kind of a pinnacle of studies originating in the 50's) there was a complete shift in our understanding of Psychology and Psychiatry. Within 15 years, we went from treating those with "mental illness" using shock therapy to giving people the ability to function in society through chemistry and science. We learned that having a mental illness is no different genetically than having diabetes and in some cases - is now "treatable." Great strides are made every day in the field of genetics. One could hypothesize from my comments so far that skydiving = mental illness. Here's a clip from the original case study that leads up to the conclusion to address your question/statement....
