We're going to have to disagree on this one, Mykel. A few years ago to prove my point, we split a class in half. I taught one without radios, the other Instructor taught one with... The students who did not have radios landed EXACTLY in the center of the DZ. The one's who were taught with radios didn't fare as well. You wanna know why the radio is the hardest thing to master? Because it's not the radio... It's the Instructor knowing they relied too heavily on the radio and taught for the radio, not for the landing pattern, crabbing, landing downwind of the DZ, etc. In fact, you want to see an Instructor panic? Walk up to him while he's on the radio, take it away, turn it off and say, "Now what?" Ever since DZ's found ways to shorten the period of time and cram 'em thru a 4 hour course... now don't get me wrong... Instructors want to be professionals, but DZ's need to generate revenue and so they press the Instructors to churn 'em and burn 'em and since the DZs pay the Instructors.... Let me ask you this... How long would the FJC be if we didn't have Radios, AADs, or RSL's? We should be teaching to that standard. Everyone keeps talking about the number of skydivers diminishing. It's simple math, we're not loading the front end as the back end drops off. We're teaching people to jump from a plane, call it a skydive and they walk away feeling "lucky," rather than confident. Plain & simple, we're not teaching them confidence in their abilities to come back. Just one man's opinion. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I thought it was cool. Kinda reminded me of James Cann playing the part of Mississppi with John Wayne. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Oh c'mon Mike.... You been in Injun territory before. 'sides that if it weren't for Oklahoma Cowboys and Mexican ladies; there'd be no Texas. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

It's an hour & twenty seven minutes from Houston, less than a $300.00 airline ticket, with flights literally leaving almost every 20 minutes to hour. I go to Houston a lot. I've left on an earlier flight and literally had a later one beat us on the ground. There was a time when Muskogee was the skydiving Mecca in which all skydivers were expected to make the trek once a year. They came from both coasts, North & South. Some flew, some drove, some car-pooled, all had fun. There was a time when the USPA considered relocating its headquarters to Muskogee. It has a 10,000' runway and is an old WWII base. There's enough camping and RV space to house 30,000 people. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=35.656004,-95.358324&z=14&hl=en&t=h It was the home of the Nationals and to Skydance Skydiving. Anyway......... more in the article in the coming months. Oh.... you'll come - if for no other reason, than to be a part of history. Not old history, but a new history that will be discussed 50 years from now. Bigun rolls up his sleeves... sticks his hand in the hat, Now, watch this..... Thanks to all the upjumpers for their help in trying so many times to get SCR/S's. There never seems to be a lack of volunteers to spend their own money in trying to help those attempting to get the awards. There were so many volunteering to help that I can't name them all. Jumpers from other States and countries all rallied to help as much as they could and truly embraced the "Pass it Skyward" theme of the boogie. Safety first and fun second was our motto and there were no injuries on any of the SCR/S jumps. Skydive Spaceland is to be commended for continually reminding everyone over the loudspeaker to observe the pattern, maintain safety and the staff at Spaceland was always courteous, friendly and professional. Thanks to all the vendors who took time to educate the SCR/S candidates on equipment. So many vendors working together, contributing certificates and other items for the auction and for contributing to the success of a fun boogie. Finally, it was good to see so many faces from years past; meeting many fellow dz.commers and meeting new people that all share the same passion. Sangiro, thanks for giving us a way to stay in touch. While I agree with the rest of the Core Value Corporate Speak of which Peek speaks... Action Item - comes from the project management cycle and has been around for a long time. Taking ownership of an action item is someone having the responsbility for a task that has to reach a critical milestone where there is probably finish to start subtask. Course, it does irritate me when corporate types use it, but now that I'm one of "them;" my roots will always be operations and project management. Perhaps I shoud say, when those corporate types who haven't come up through the ranks use it.... "Oooooooooooh, so you have an MBA?!?!??!? OK, I'll go over it r-e-a-l slooooowww." --FedEx Commercial. Doesn't matter. If your palms scrape the pad, it'll move. ANYWAY, you can disable the pad so it doesn't do that. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Unfortunately, now that I've told you the story... If you should ever find yourself in a similar position; you'll always wonder if.... I needed hypnotherapy to remove the burning image from my mind. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Army buddy and his girlfriend are getting after it with some serious foreplay. They're in 69 with her on top, his tongue is knee deep in her hoohah and she explodes in orgasm. At that exact secoond, she drops a turd on his forehead They stopped dating shortly afterwards. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Both are in sequence. The front loop is added as an additonal point of performance for the C License with the same 18 second criteria (you have one more manuever to perfrom in the same time frame). Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Check both mine in a single Pelican box and pay the extra freight fee. Never been an issue. I put neon colored zip ties instead of TSA locks on the box so they'll have to cut them to open and inspect - and then I know I REALLY need to inspect my gear when I get to my destination. Lots do care. For one reason, they know that it won't be a throw-together scab load where the amount of money invested does not have a return in sucess. How would you feel about spending money going to a big-way focused boogie, money on 10-20+ skydives, repacks, hotels, etc. and the result was failure. Those "X" or "Y" L/O's have a demonstrated history of success. They'll cut someone who's making the team fail. It's not just your $20.00 for the load if someone regularly shits the bed; it's $20.00 times the number of participants on the dive. Not hard math to see that a 100 way with ten fubared attempts is twenty grand in the shitter. And, success is what draws participants to an event. In addition, L/O's who work with low-time/jump numbers are also the ones who observe skill/numbers and act as a conduit to recommend skydivers to the next level of L/O or as a filter to prevent the next L/O from spending time and money to learn that someone's not ready for that next level. Yes. The one on my right forearm. While OK in the military, its different in the business world. I advise that if one's going to get a tattoo, get it somewhere that can be covered by a polo type shirt or pants. Nothing below the shoulder on the arms. .
