Alright, I've had enough of you jabones coming to the State of Oklahoma and making fun of our Okie twang... For the record, when you arrive, the proper pronunciation is Okla - Homa with a definitive pause between the "a" and the "h" For those of you who have some form of learning disability, lemmee draw you a picture of how it works.... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

You do know Weight Watchers is only about $10.00 week and would have been a much cheaper and and less painful weight reduction program? Look, Pete... You have to do what's best for you, your family, your situation, and your future. No one can direct you in that decision-making process, but you. All we can do is support you and hope you'll swing by the DZ on occasion for some grub and Get well soon. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Or the internal logical guy who spoke softly and told me to get up and cash it in when I was up to 800 bucks only for the loud mouth gambler inner voice guy to bitch slap logic guy and tell him, "NO! you dumbfuck, you're up to $800, sit down, shut the fuck up and take it to a grand before you leave." That's usually when the bleeding starts and that was the VERY NEXT hand. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I was feeling moody and insecure - I needed a hug and the dealer threw something shiney at me. I knew I could rely on my fellow skydivers to kick me in the nuts for reinforcement. Keep it up... Maybe next time I'll remember this spanking before making a dumbass move like that. Actually, if someone could kick the shit out of that gambler persona living inside me that takes over; I'd appreciate it. Yup... You're both right. Hence, the title "stupid" beat instead of bad beat. I know better. He was 84.9% to win pre-flop. But, sometimes the gambler in me comes out... I hate that guy Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Got off the plane a little after midnite and was still wound up from being up 36 hours, so I went to a casino and the only thing open at two in the morning was a 1/2 table with $200.00 max buy-in. Easy enough table and within an hour and a half of aggressive play am up to $800.00 Dealt an Ace & 10 of Diamonds. Sitting in the small blind Pre-flop betting is normal - five bucks around the table. Big Blind calls five. Flop comes Diamond/Ace/Diamond (four Diamonds to me with the Ace high in the hole). Board checks around as do I. Big Blind next to me punches $100.00 Obviously has or is representing trip Aces - so you have to assume it is. Table bows out - gets to me - I'm up $600.00, so I think it's worth the call. Turn comes - 5 of Spades , no help to me so I check it, Big blind goes another $100.00 - Definately has trip Aces - I call. River turn and it's a diamond - Ace high flush to me - got him! Push him all-in $200.00 and he calls. As soon as he calls I look at the board and realize - DAMMIT it's a five of diamonds; pairing the board and giving him the boat. So focused on seeing the Diamond, that I forget to hit the pause button and analyze the board before making the all-in move. $400.00 mistake. But, do you think I remember the other rule of - when you make a mistake like that; you should take a break and gather your thoughts - hell no... I conitnue to plow into them being aggressive, but now I've lost the momentum and they're all callng to the river... (one of the reasons I hate 1/2 and prefer 5/10 or 10/20). Lesson reinforced: Hit the pause button and analyze the board before you push someone all-in. Final rule - not good to start playing a Hold'em money game after being up 36 hours. Speaking of Anvil Brothers... let me jump in here. I'm 6'6" and 250 TallGuy was pointed to me when he first got in the sport a few years ago (he's 6'8/9" and 265) Your experience at SDD kinda surprises me, having both worked there (tandems) and in knowing most of the staff. My guess is their student H/C gear is TSO'd at 254#, so you're kinda _bumping_ their level of comfort on the rigs. Having said that, talk with Ernie about it and your goals in buying your own gear as soon as you're cleared for solo's and get the guidance of those in the Instructors area on gear purchases. There's no need to go down the _modified_ tandem rig route. Most H/C's are now rated to 300# and will be a matter of personal preference (I like the WingsEXT best - just cause the hackey is lower on my back - but like different things about all the rig manufacturers and have owned just about all and jumped them all). Finding the proper main & reserve is a discussion best served with your Instructors at SDD. Feel free to PM me as you go down this path. By law, the telecomm's HAVE to report your complete bill. By selection, she could have taken the time to select the "Do not send me a paper bill" option which still affords her the ability to view all charges in "Detailed Billing" on-line. Traveling with allot of gear..? HELP!!!
BIGUN replied to freefall80's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I use the pelican case 1660. You also need to check with the airlines. I fly Southwest quite a bit and with two rigs, helmet, jumpsuit, etc. finally got it to 98 lbs which SW charges an extra $50.00. Then one day I show up at United, 1) They don't take anything over 70 lbs (so the in-airport shifting of gear began - one rig as carry-on and the laptop case) which got it under the 70 pounds), 2) then the wench comes over with a soft tape meausre and starts meausuring the damn case and tells me it's over the maximum allowable for cubic inches?!?!?!? OK. Now what? Well, it's going to cost you $100.00 for the extra weight (but its 70 pounds!!! You told me 70!!!!), Yes 70 is the maximum weight whcih is $100.00 and for being oversize is another $50.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same airlines that is now blocking all seat assignments on the Internet EXCEPT the upgrade to Business Class. -

Almost old enough to jump - AFF is 1595, good price?
BIGUN replied to Philly215's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It's not that the AFF program has changed as much as most DZ's have recognized a certain increase in AFF Level 1 performance (or should I say a decrease in first jump anxiety) if a Tandem is done first... The more we use all or most of the tools in our arensal (tunnel, tandems, etc.), the greater chance that when one chooses to progress beyond the "Do it once in my lifetime;" the greater their success and higher retention. At our DZ, we've incorporated AFP, IAD & AFF and educate the customer on the categorical steps towards the "A" License and the full ISP. Student retention is up as is the number of first time students (Students are selling skydiving more than we are). We've gone from needing more students to needing more Instructors and another airplane. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -

I think the real question is, "Where the hell have you been?" We haven't talked in about five years since I split my Safire 189's 4 cell from stem to stern. It's about time for me to get a reline on my 169 and heard you were in Chicago, then back to SC... You back at home now so I can send this puppy in to get the reline this winter?
