  1. Agreed. 100% We are facing a recession. Bulls in a china shop.
  2. We're kinda debating towards the same goal Reducing the debt-to-GDP ratio depends on how the deficit is corrected. If surplus is increased by raising taxes, the downturn in growth raises rather than reduces the debt-to-GDP ratio. Deficit reduction policies based on spending cuts have almost no effect on output, so they are a sure bet for a reduction in debt to GDP. I think for me/you; we might like to see a solid congressional law as to a firm debt-to-GDP ratio. Course, it all goes to shit during war, disasters, et.al. Course, I'm not an economist, so I can't lay out the best plan (Hell, I don't even think they can come up with one).
  3. Side step. As opposed to increasing taxes and increasing spending? Both sides are responsible. Don't you think it strange that neither side jumps on a balanced budget bandwagon. There's always talk, but when it comes up, both sides scatter.
  4. Both sides are equally responsible. And, for the first year, the debt incurred is a result of the last administration until the end of the following fiscal year in October. Here's a chart of each adminsitration's contribution to that debt - and the main issue is paying or preparing for fucking war. https://www.investopedia.com/us-debt-by-president-dollar-and-percentage-7371225
  5. Thank you. I wasn't aware of these. As the S/O leans into retirement; she wants to do more with Marine Biology, so we are scrubbing their web site.
  6. They have ruled out any toxicology issues and are now focused on Tesla. Perhaps Elon oughta get his ass back to his own fucking efficiencies. https://basentinel.com/two-holland-hall-teens-killed-in-tulsa-crash/
  7. And why it or anything even close to it should never be done again.
  8. Trump is creating an entire class of other than Trump votes in the next election. I believe that if the Dems put up a fiscally/somewhat conservative Democrat that communicates well - the pendulum will swing back. It is the nature of our two party system. But, they need to start strategically planning now.
  9. Well, I don't think Elon should be involved in politics at all and am completely opposed to anything that even closely resembles a nazi salute. I am of an age where my parents served during Korea and had great Uncles that served during WWII. Anything Nazi or Commmunist goes against the grain.
  10. Sounds like Dr. Walker doesn;t have a plan. He's making this shit up as he goes. No granularity on his website. https://www.brianwalkermlc.com.au/priorities
  11. No argument. Nor, does it take into account the revenues generated from areas other than the sound bite of "Every American Owes X." IMO: Bill Clinton's Workforce Reduction Act, while somewhat brutal, still had a methodology of assessing the need, then submitting it to Congress.
  12. Firm believer in Deming's methods. He used his knowledge from the Hawthorne Effect and perfected it to a bottom-up approach to change. TRIVIA: Juran was an engineer at the Hawthorne facility and Deming was a young doctoral candidate.
  13. See. You talk about religion and then you're the first to point out sin. Mortal sin is the poor choice in wine. No. You!
  14. Brother. It's kinda hard for me to see these two statements in the same missive. The US Constitution was instrumental in Latin America, Africa, Phillipines, etc. etc. Well, except Britain - they still have a monarchy and fuck the Manchester Foot Ball team. . https://prologue.blogs.archives.gov/2021/09/17/global-influence-of-the-u-s-constitution/ Ya know, I think this is the most you've written on here in years.
  15. You don't get it. Now, you get it. *Just fuckin with you, Joe.
  16. It's any religion (well, except Buddhism), Remember Iran in 1979. Western influence.
  17. Thank you for adding to the conversation. You are 100% accurate. At the end of 2003, it went from a liberation to an occupation.
  18. Didn't King Abdullah recently say he's take in 2,000 refugee children, so it may be a start towards something.
  19. Afternoon, Jerry. I think we should start a Elon's Last Day pool. It'll be something along the lines of a mutual - "Done all we can do here; have to go back and focus on my business' kind of thingy."
  20. See! Application is the third step on Bloom's Taxonmy of Learning. Good job.
  21. <puts down his cheese sandwich> Ahhh, so we're back to boiling frogs - wringing our hands and pointing our wagging school marm finger at 'em.
