  1. Jesus. It's going to be a long, hard, four years. "I'm getting too old for this shit." ~Roger Murtough
  2. OK. so you and I are done on this subject.
  3. Here is what they would return to: https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/gaza-destruction Who would rebuild it? As to the Palestinians: Follow the Oslo Accords. Totally unnecessary.
  4. This is the most plausible. Well, there is that. Welcome back.
  5. Ken, I think you're overreacting. I listened to and read all three items you posted. In the BBC article; it states that the 25 mile strip of Gaza would take 21 years to make it habitable again. Relocating people during a reconstruction effort is not ethnic cleansing. After walking thru the streets of New Orleans with Gov. Jindal after Katrina; he said it would take ten years to rebuild. It did. Everyone was given a chance to relocate until the reconstruction occurred, many returned, many did not. They'd made a life elsewhere.
  6. As mentioned, I have not been staying up on the news cycle, but this sounded very ominus, so I sought out to find his actual words. In the end, it was quite an exercise to try and find them amongst the similar noise you stated. Every media outlet is hair on fire enraged and then I found this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Kud_7va2VYg It's temporary and if you look at the pictures of devastation, how could anyone safely and healthily live there. It sounds like a rebuilding effort. I still haven't found what he actually said, so if you have a source, please feel free to share (not what others said he said)
  7. I'm there. This past year hit quite the crescendo.
  8. No argument, brother. A more methodical phased approach.
  9. I did not. Permanent or Temporary? I'm trying to stay off the news cycle. Seems to just piss me off lately.
  10. We took over Japan after WWII and rebuilt their nation, then handed it back. What Trumpo is saying is that with our help, it could be a beautiful as Rio. I "think" what he's posturing for - is the Arab nations to step up and do as they did in Abu Dhabi. I envision a Skydive Gaza
  11. Afternoon, Nigel. They did it for one month. Here's a more in-depth article than the false X meme going around the internet https://www.newsweek.com/mexico-national-guard-soldiers-border-make-any-difference-trump-tariff-talks-2026177
  12. I've got Jakee blocked, but my guess is; he's making my point, not his.
  13. If you continue to engage Jakee; you will find yourself in a never-ending circular argument. I and several others blocked him a long time ago. https://www.skydiveforum.com/forums/topic/271501-more-sacrifices-to-the-2nd-amendment/page/140/?tab=comments#comment-5034531
  14. I doubt it also. I was speaking about the facts of the situation, not the politics. I don't know anything about this Beattie person.
  15. Well actually, that's exactly what they were doing. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/07/22/what-we-know-about-unauthorized-immigrants-living-in-the-us/#:~:text=Here are key findings about,of 6.9 million in 2007. That is per year. There's "almost" not a day in my town where an illegal immigrant isn't in the news for anything from theft to murder. In the graph in the following article, the exponential increase in drugs seized is getting silly - keep in mind, that's just what they confiscated. https://immigrationforum.org/article/illicit-fentanyl-and-drug-smuggling-at-the-u-s-mexico-border-an-overview/
  16. RIP Jim. I did not know him other than by rep. Thank you for all the stories you've been posting lately. I started jumping in '81. IN '83; I went to the nationals in Muskogee since it was close to home and I was on leave. I had the pleasure of working with Jerry Bird on SCRs and in 2001, was at the WFFC working with Hutch on SCRs when we needed some more applications, so I picked up the phone and called Bill Newell. He sent them to manifest and we carried on. When I got home; I called Bill again and asked why he didn't have a website that we could just download the application and show young skydivers the criteria. He didn't know anyone that could do it, so I built the first scr-awards.com website. As I built it, we would talk and I wound up writing the prologue for "The Arvin Good Guys." which is still on the site today. At that time, I also planted the seed of considering a gorup of Vertical Skydiving Awards and he got busy. In 2003, we got him to come to SkyFest at Skydive Dallas to participate on the SCR jumps, awards, and ceremonies. He had a blast. Still have a pic of him in my office doing an SCR jump. Again, thank you for posting these wonderful stories. Keith SCR #14304, SCS #8080
  17. Evening, Jerry. It was temporary. Two schools; one saying an outage, the other a shutdown. In either case, “We have confirmed no payments have been affected — they are still being processed and sent,” Leavitt said. “We expect the portal will be back online shortly.” It's back up and running.
  18. That generation not being well-versed in the Bible, probably thought he was attributing his father to the - greatest. of. all. time. DJT jr without his father would probably be selling hot dogs on a corner in NYC
  19. From the article: Burchett implied in the wake of a classified briefing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), [don't mean shit] “When they tell me something’s moving at hundreds of miles an hour underwater, and our capabilities … and these things, this one was, it was large as a football field underwater. And this was a documented case, and … and I have an admiral telling me this stuff,” Burchett said Wednesday. The movie, "The Abyss" has been rerunning on streaming TV lately.
  20. Morning, Jerry. Lotsa things running thru my head with this one: They walk among us. Perhaps Elon is their leader. Imagine spending billions to get to Mars only to find out they spent billions getting here.
  21. Wow. Freedom of speech and expression is the freedom not to.
  22. See was a good prosecutor. After that, Peter Principle.
  23. Brother, I'm not sure this would bode well. One oopsie and you're in deep shit. I would be more inclined to have a no vote party. Everyone just stay home on election day. Unfortuately, people have agendas and too often it's not for the greater good.
  24. So it would appear that, "President Trump’s sweeping agenda took its first hit Thursday, when a federal judge put a temporary hold on his birthright citizenship executive order." Perhaps if there were an AG, they would have explianed it to him.
  25. Is that a non economist or a nonconforming economist? [runs]
