Well, actually that IS an important question. If we are going to eventually have humans living on Mars, we need to know where the water ice is, and how to extract it. We need to have a better understanding of the engines that drive the weather on the Red Planet (those dust storms could really ruin a colonists' day). If wealthy nations could get past this trillion dollar war thing they have going, some real dough could be spent on the planetary sciences, and we could start spreading OUR seed in the solar system. As you know, the surface of this planet hasn't always been as hospitable as it is now. And you are making assumptions about extra-terrestrial life. As we have never had the opportunity to study an alien organism, we have no criteria for establishing a set of circumstances under which it could survive. -

I learned IAD ... was having trouble getting a good arch on the 5 second delay, so I did just one PFF jump. After that my flying skills quickly improved. That first jump was in May, '98. 175 jumps now.

I'm always surprised to hear that people don't have insurance coverage of their possessions ... what happens if your dwelling goes up in flames -- with your rig inside?

Well ... my life is pretty fine as it is -- but if I could go back and change anything: I'd go back to high school, and study the sciences wayyyy harder. Today I produce a tv newscast -- but I'd really rather be an astronomer, preferably in astro-physics.

Well my non-skydiving wife and I have been sweethearts since high school ... our next wedding anniversairy will be #19 ... I couldn't imagine living my life without someone to share it all with ... the friends we celebrated New Years Eve with tonight are our age, and have been married 22 years ... if and when you find someone, you'll know. There is nothing better. Last night Shelley and I went to LOTR #2 together. Tonight my friend Mark and I played on our guitars and sang love songs we have written about our wives. There is nothing worng with marriage -- it's all about WHO you marry. Quite frankly, I couldn't be happier. How 'bout this: I started skydiving after being married for 14 years! Now THAT'S a cool lady!!!

I taught myself to juggle one summer back when I was in high school! It's funny how some people are so amazed when they see that you can juggle!

I haven't checked my log book, but I did about 50 jumps... and I am satisfied with that. You know -- 1 plane dz, mortgage, 2 kids, busy life ... it's all good!!!
