-
So are ya opening yer own video store to rent them out or what???

Well -- I DO enjoy watching the Russians get beat -- so I got my Dad the '72 series Canada vs Soviet Union on dvd for Christmas! He has really enjoyed watching it, and I'll get my hands on it when he's done!

Spectre230 -- the only guy on dz.com to jump from the Space Shuttle! I'm still trying to forget...
-
Congrats -- but don't stop now! Remember, it's more about "how much fun" than "how many" ... I'm working on 2000, too! Only 1825 to go...

Sorry to hear that you are forced to move back home with your parents .. but I agree with Jimbo -- in fact, I almost posted just what he said ... but I took time to read all the responses before posting. Someone spent a lot of money setting up that bottled water plant, and the workers need to earn a decent wage ... and you can bet the shareholders want their cut, too! The charge at the landfill will should make us think twice about how much "stuff" we accumulate. Are any of the items in the basement recycleable?

Well The Jr World's Gold belongs here, 'cause we already got Men AND Women's Olympic Gold!!! Go Canada!

Chances are you'll assualt your children, too ... I don't believe children learn anything from a beating -- except that use of force to achieve your goals is acceptable... Hey -- I wonder if George Sr. beat the snot out of little Dubya when he was a kid???
-
Sorry to hear about your friend ... that really sucks. Last night, a 23 old woman pushing her baby across the street in a stroller was hit by a big transport truck... she's critical, the kid is ok. I don't know the woman, ibut it'ss shit like that that scares me. You never know what tomorrow holds...

Short version (at least my limited understanding of it): Way back when, a British man (named Bob) rose to prominence and success in business, and eventually took a role in government. But he had a habit of appointing his "less than fully qualified" relatives to positions of power. Eventually, anyone who was a bit of a screw-up would be subject to the criticism "So Bob's your uncle..."

So this brings up a new question -- can a somewhat "animated" character win an Oscar for "best supporting"? It's gonna be a lonnggggg year waiting for the King! I started reading the triology again last night -- about 25 years after I first read it!

I wonder what the fall rate is in Houston?
-
Awww, c'mon ... let's fight about it... Sorry, but this forum is a free-for-all, and since you put it out there ... some us are gonna have a go at you.
-
I'm with Flyangel2 on this one ... from what you've posted, you were going more than 20 mph over the speed limit... what part of that isn't speeding?
-
Alright, Quade ... what's your cut?
-
I'm sooo there, brother! Today I was talking to Nick, one of the other guys on that jump. We are both counting down the days!!! Cya there...
-
I knew it all along! I'me sure Phree is, too... we just had a POWERFUL gust of wind here -- it is crazy out there right now, outside my house... STORM!!!!! Earlier today, a road on the coast of Vancouver Island was closed because of logs thrown up onto the road in the storm... I guess though, it nothing like that storm in the South Pacific, where the winds were 360kph -- yes, 360kph! Now that is outrageous! Did you see that copy, Jessica, on the wires?!?

What's the longest stretch of time you've gone between jumps?

I really think it would be good if "Industrial Firstaid" was taught in high schools. Expensive to conduct the training? Yes ... but if it saves someone you love... if it is taught widely enough that people are saved daily around the country... then we would all have a better chance of being rescued if we were in a crash or something! I mean ... hell, there is a dance class for gr 11 & 12 males at a H/S nearby -- and they put on a great show -- but why not fund and teach industrial firstaid in high schools???
-
That's just great, Wingy ... but I wanna know your association with "Wingnut Films", the company that made LOTR

Maybe Bush should declare war on Venezuela as well?!? I think I'm gonna try to be nice this year, too, just like Sinkster! btw, as I type this, at 11:50pm, the wind is blowing HARD!!! My whole house is shaking, and I can hear the 100+ fir trees near my house shaking, too ... all sorts of flying shit -- cones, little branches, needles, etc are hitting a window 3m from me ... COOLIO!
-
Mike, I hope it's someone like YOU who comes across me if I'm in a severe accident. I've never scene a "bad" accident -- but my brother (who is now a Dr.) was first there when an old guy walked into highway traffic. He did all he could, but the old guy was beyond help... too bad no one would stop sooner to help you out...
-
Ya, but do you get to jump into lost prairie with me?????
-
Also, your administration is drawing attention away from the internal crisis underway ...

I DO go to only one boogie each year ... the Kamloops May Meet. We get picked up by the twin otter at our dz, fly there, and jump in, then fly home when it is all done, and jump in there, too (weather permitting, of course).
