I went to Skydive Miami when I was down there in January. It's a good dz with some really nice people. About an hr or so from Miami if i remember right.

I agree with the pro-rated fee thing. Also, I don't know if it's just me or if there are others that feel the same way i do, but I would go to the convention, or any other big boogie, to be able to jump with people in the sport that I normally wouldn't get to jump with, or to do skydives I normally wouldn't get to do. While I did the biplane a few years ago and still love the picture, I'm at the point where I don't really care about the airplane I jump from...it's more about the skydive and the people on it. So, as a Chicago area jumper, I am not really compelled to spend 70 bucks plus normal or slightly higher than normal jump ticket prices (even if the organizers are world class) if I can go to Summerfest the week before, where prices are a lot lower (and, as an SDC jumper, i can use jumps from my prepaid package during summerfest). I guess my point is that while lowering the price may not always be possible because of the magnitude of the undertaking, it's hard to go to the wffc when there's a cheaper, and in many ways very similar, nearby alternative.

my thought is...if you want a proper perspective as to exactly how fat this country is.... go to europe or south america and just see how thin people are. and as far as the situation you describe goes....jeez the laziness of some people.... 3 spaces is what? 20 feet? i am glad i dont own a car or need to living in chicago!

the whole hockey lockout thing was stupid in that they considered themselves one of the "big 4" in US sports. had the players realized that the big four is now baseball, football, basketball and (unfortunately) nascar, they may have actually used common sense. while i am all for the atheletes trying to get as much as they can, i can't say i agree with their stand which essentially proved the irrelevancy of hockey when it comes to the american viewing public. after all they wanted to stay with a salary system that actually paid more per player (average) than football. i'm not a big hockey fan, or really a hockey fan at all....so i hope i dont anger anyone with this rant...but i do find the dynamic of a league strifing with itself when its biggest problem is an apathetic public fascinating and i am interested to see how the rule changes play out. i also think the league needs to fix things so that one of the major cities (NY, Chicago, or LA) has a winning team to drum up interest. as i see it in chicago, i'd place the interest in the blackhawks probably below the Chicago Fire soccer team.... oh yeah, im kinda drunk as i type this....

Amen to everything you said.... easily the best batman movie... and i LOVE Tim Burton's first one. but this one was just so much closer to the source material. also, it was cool to see chicago as gotham, then walk out of the theater and see the same buildings... now, time for bed to sleep for 5 hrs before getting up to move.
