  1. Well considering I deployed at about 2800' I wasnt even considering getting stable before pulling silver, and to be honest the fact that I have an RSL never even crossed my mind, I did exactly what I was trained and practice. Never even looked at my handles so I guess the fact that I times I touch them multiple times on the way to altitude paid off ... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  2. Andy I also dont get the question, but to be clear - it was an extremely hard opening, I looked up and saw multiple broken lines and was spinning on my back. One hand at the cutaway the other on silver I pulled the cutaway heard a "ching" and pulled silver. I had it probably halfway out when the freebag came up between my legs. So yes I pulled both and yes I kept my handles. And yes the RSL beat me but not by much. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  3. He will get his bottle this Saturday and this was my secong cutaway but my first high speed malfunction As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  4. Reserve was flying stable as I kicked out the twists. I didnt expect a miracle from my reserve but a few people commented that it was unusual for it to open in linetwists so I wanted to hear other opinions or experiences about spinning cutaways and whether the reserve spun up... 5. The canopy was a Sabre 1 190. I got it and my freebag back and kept my handles. The canopy had 9 broken lines and a ripped port Cell 4 had A, C and D broken below the cascades and B actually ripped the attachment off the bottom skin of the canopy I hope it wears better than it flies (getting a jacket made out of it) edit to add I had silver halfway out when I saw the freebag going up between my legs so yeah I pulled silver but the RSL beat me As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  6. On Saturday afternoon I had an extremely hard opening that resulted in multiple broken lines and put me on my back in a hard spin. I looked up, saw the lines and immediately cut it away. My freebag came up between my legs and my reserve opened and started to spin me up resulting in 8 complete twists. I landed out in a soybean field about a quarter mile from the dropzone (stood it up too). My question is how often do spinning malfunctions result in reserve linetwists? I gotta say it sucks beyond sucking to get your llast chance out and have an issue (even if its kind of minor) As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  7. So are you going to be doing any fun jumps at the boogie or just tandems? As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  8. I was disapointed that USPA discontinued these "awards" for the simple fact that there are NO "awards" that lower number jumpers can qualify for. Any 50 jump wonder could get a Falcon or Eagle if they applied themselves, now you have to have 1000 jumps to get any kind of recognition from USPA as far as "awards" go. It would be nice (and maybe help membership retention) if USPA would come up with some kind of award that applied to sub-1000# jumpers IMHO. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  9. MY rifle uses both. I have a Yugo SKS, it takes clips in the original configuration or magazines with the floding stock/Tapco conversion. It also has the integral grenade launcher As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  10. Agreed Lawrocket. Problem is, this is the NATIONAL OFFICIAL position on the Second. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  11. So, we’ve been getting a lot of comments about the ACLU’s stance on the Second Amendment. For those of you who didn’t catch our response in the blog comments, here it is again: The ACLU interprets the Second Amendment as a collective right. Therefore, we disagree with the Supreme Court’s decision in D.C. v. Heller. ------------------------------------------------------------ A civil liberties union defends ALL the civil rights of a US citizen. A political activist group interprets which rights a citizen is "entitled" to. ACLU claims in its mission statement to defend all of the Bill of Rights, then turns around and says they interpret the 2nd to be a collective right. Name one other place in the Bill of Rights where the term "the right of the people" is interpreted as a collective rather than an individual right. Perhaps you should read the comments left on their blog. Seems they are losing members left and right over this stance.
  12. Considering that as I understand the laws you have to be a US citizen to qualify for a CCW, and that as a CCW holder the Government (Federal and State) trust me to carry a firearm in public, why should I NOT be allowed to carry at an airport? As far as I am concerned, that should include not only the non-secure parts of the airport but the flight as well. If CCW was allowed in-flight (and it currently is for pilots and air marshals only), 9/11 might have had a very different outcome As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  13. http://blog.aclu.org/2008/07/01/heller-decision-and-the-second-amendment/ The ACLU has decided that your Second Ammendment rights are a "collective" right despite the SCOTUS decision, even though the SCOTUS was 9-0 for individual right if you read the dissenting opinion. Hypocrites. Check out the link for their blog, over 800 comments, and only 4 of them positive (yes I read all of them ). Anyone else think they should lose their tax status for this? Its now obvious they are a political activist organization and NOT, as they claim, the defender of ALL of the Bill of Rights and ALL our Civil Liberties... 14. Knowledge of your gear = LIFE!!! I cannot imagine a reason for a licensed skydiver to not know how their gear functions and how it can malfunction Yeah.....I have all of 110 jumps and thats my attitude... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  15. "As far as words are concerned, the ARE the primary medium" THE are????? Seems you are not immune to improper use of/spelling of words yourself... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  16. To what analogy are you referring? Who made an analogy? ??????? You complain of not understanding an analogy, but the only analogy in the thread appears to be the one you made to a parachute. Do you often complain about yourself? Actually I complain about myself quite frequently. Okay, I give in. I cannot compete with your verbal linguistics and knowledge of proper grammer and sentence structure (and likely spelling). So, can you answer a simple question? What does the story you told about the murder of the gun shop owner(s) you knew have to do with the topic of this thread? Seriously, I am asking what your post means in context with the subject matter of this thread... Did you read post #1? Did you see my name mentioned? Did you read my response? etc., etc., etc. As far as words are concerned, the ARE the primary medium we use to communicate ideas. If you can't be bothered to use them properly, not my fault. Damn, I even concede defeat and ask a straightforward question, and you STILL refuse to answer? As far as you lecture on words being the primary medium of communication, you are correct. However, I could have asked the same question to a 12 year old and they would have understood exactly what I was asking them - I am assuming that a Professor would have known exactly what I was asking as well. You are a fellow skydiver, and at one time listed my home DZ as yours (WTS) so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Just so you know (and I am sure you don't care), when you play these word games you come across as a big fucking asshole . Not saying you are as I don't know you. I bet you would be fun to debate in person though As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

  19. I also do not understand the gun store murder analogy. Yes, is a statement of fact but what is the point? It is also a statement of fact that there are many instances of the availability of a parachute during a skydive not preventing a fatality...sometimes its all about the timing of your actions. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  20. Bullshit. Thats a real pet peeve of mine with the USPA "rules". The A license allows intentional water landings but according to the SIM you are not REQUIRED to have water training until the B license If one of you up jumpers want to explain please feel free... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
  21. Obviously I'm not an instructor, but my FJC opened my class by introducing himself and telling us "Please pay attention during this entire class because you will be jumping out of a plane at 15000 feet, and you need this information I am teaching you to avoid hitting the ground and dying a bloody death. We have never lost a student but there have been two fatalities here. I intend to keep that number at two." He went on to give us some details about the two fatalities (one low turn and one knee to the face during RW resulting in unconciousness and no AAD). I was actually relieved as a student that the instructor was not bullshitting me, and you can bet your ass I payed complete attention. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
