Maybe, maybe not...I DID suck it into the basement on that jump because I had someone in my airspace at deployment time and had to track a bit more than I am comfortable with. I saddled out at 1900 Would have sucked for me to have a mal on that jump seriously though, why isn't anyone else having this issue who uses Neptune? Lee has no problems with his. Maybe I just need to upgrade the software in mine? As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

Has that changed in the last few years? I jumped at Skydive Hawaii and all 3 of my tandems were in a King Air...Pacific was closed at the time (this was in July 05). As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

Hey Will, thanks for the info. However, I was in the first group out, thats why I was wondering about the 97 seconds. We didn't take that long to climb out, I was in a 4 way base for a 10 way... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

I have a Neptune altimeter which I love, but lately it has been giving me (obviously) false freefall times. I did a jump Monday where we exited at 14,500 and I saddled out at 1900 and it shows 97 seconds of freefall. Our pilot does a parabolic at the top of jumprun to help everybody stand up, could the Neptune be reading that as the start of freefall? Noone else at my DZ that uses a Neptune seems to be having this issue... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

RE: Surviving the No Wind Landing
crotalus01 replied to hexadecimal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Really odd threat to me. I don't mind no wind days and never have. Its when the winds are gusting and squirrley that I get nervous (and often sit out). As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... -
Did my first tandem skydive at Dillingham, does that count? Seriously though, Amazon posted a thread with no replies in Events and Places looking to find out if anything was going on at Dillingham around Christmas...perhaps she can help? As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

SUCKS that he is gonna be remembered as the guy who was implicated in the Olympic bombing at Atlanta. What a shitty "legacy"... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

I wear a Zampf halfshell, smallest I can get away with in Tennesse since we have a damn helmet law...fortunately I live in Memphis, so I cross the bridge to Arkansas and no helmet required on weekends as long as you are 18+ and have medical insurance. 27 times from a single bumblebee. I was 12, walking across a field and must have disturbed it somehow, it flew up and stung me 6 times on the face before landing on my neck and crawling down the back of my shirt, pausing to sting randomly. I came out of the field running, screaming and slapping at my back. My friend pulled my shirt up at which point the bee flew out and stung him 8 times. We both ended up at the minor emergency clinic. Got a couple of shots and it was okay except for the swelling - I looked like I had been in a fight with Mike Tyson As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

Time to do away with the "coach" rating
crotalus01 replied to Airman1270's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't get it myself, but surely you qualify for a D license? D licensed jumpers were recently granted approval from USPA to jump with those off student status but not yet licensed... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... -

crotalus01 replied to Philly215's topic in General Skydiving Discussions

Which EP Method is taught at your DZ?
crotalus01 replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was taught look grab (right) look grab (left) Peel punch (right) peel punch (left). Thats what I did on my only chop, and it worked for me. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... -
Sure you can do part-time jobs, you just can't be employeed...see if you can work odd jobs in a neighborhood for cash, cut grass, trim bushes etc. That's the same as packing parachutes on the weekends. edit to add I guess in your neck of the woods I should have said shovel snow instead of cut grass... Just my opinion: If, at age 18, you are old enough to decide to join the military and get sent to war, are old enough to get married, are old enough to skydive, old enough to decide to work a job that is "dangerous", old enough to be tried for crimes as an "adult", old enough to fuck on film or pose nude in a magazine, and old enough to use tobacco in any of its forms, then what the FUCK is our government thinking by saying you have to live 3 more years before you are old enough to drink alcohol????? Booze is the ONLY thing in this country that requires you to be 21. You get all the other benefits/burdons at age 18. Oh, sorry I forgot....you have to be 25 to rent a car. What jump number was your first cutaway?
crotalus01 replied to illusioneer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Jump #51, my second jump on my new J4 (reserve repacked earlier that day of course). Sunset load, solo (last out after an 8 way FS). Opened at 4K with 4 linetwists in the center of my lines. Fought it down to 3K and chopped because it was already dark, I had not gotten a single twist out, and I was flying away from the DZ. Landing out sucks, so I figured landing out at night would suck much worse, and landing out at night under a reserve I had never flown before would be the worst of the available choices. Even chopping at 3K I had to get on the rear risers and still barely made the edge of the DZ. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... -
Ask your instructors. They know how you fly. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

Cuba - should we end the embargo? the poll:
crotalus01 replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Castro has used the embargo to stay in power by blaming the embargo for all of Cuba's economic woes. Ending the embargo a long time ago would likely have facilitated a revolution against Castro. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... -
My nephew has pretty severe ADHD. It's caused by a chemical imbalance. Most people with ADHD have the reverse reaction to stimulants/depressants, that is speed will slow them down to normal and depressants will amp them up. My nephew takes an amphetamine because it slows him down to normal. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

Opinions please. I have a kill-line PC that likes to uncock when I am packing. Bungee would solve this potential malfunction. Any drawbacks to a bungee PC? Thanks.... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
