  1. If you are gonna go, go all out. I believe that if you are going to do something, do it right and do it big. You are right, it is only a true faceplant if you need dental floss!!! (and by the way, the spray and wash is not getting the stains out of my jumpsuit!) love ya, anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  2. Yeah, but did you jump? Did you ever take that darn test??? GET ON IT! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  3. NICE???? NICE??? Santa kicked ass for you....I don't think I was as good this year...I don't expect Santa to be quite that nice. Lucky dog! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  4. Ok. I'll play: FBF: 1. Learn to tell time- when you say five minutes don't mean 30! 2. You do NOT have to flirt with EVERY boy....let some of them go. 3. Confession is good for the soul. "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  5. I don't know about witty, but I buy incessant! "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  6. Here's mine for Clay: 1. Let a coule threads go by without chiming in......just a couple!!!! "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  7. I think this is an excellent idea. This may make me sound stupid, but it had never occurred to me to feel for my cutaway and reserve handles in freefall. I touch and retouch as I gear up, in the plane, once I stand up in the plane, but I had never thought to feel for them in freefall, which is when you may really need to find them and fast. I guess I know what I am doing on my next dive! Blue skies, Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  8. If you start him all over, you'd really be subjected to Clay's post whoirng....I think Carpel Tunnel should be it....No new titles to aim for or to reward the unemployed!!!! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  9. What would I have done? I would have reached back and tried to pull the pin myself. I would have tried once. If that didn't work, I would cutaway and pull silver. I, too, would cutaway in any situation. I don't want the stress of deciding whether this is a cutaway and pull or just a pull situation. I would chop first no matter what. Glad it all worked out ok! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  10. By the way, my DZ (2 C-182s and a King Air) offers S/L and a tandem progression. "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  11. I know that most of the bigger DZs are dumping S/L training in favor of AFF or a Tandem progression, but I would bet that most smaller DZs still offer or ONLY offer S/L. Do you guys think this is true? Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  12. Ya had m worried for a minute there, Pyke! I am glad to hear that your spirits have picked up. Hang in there, cuz you are right. This, too, shall pass. Blue skies and healthy leg soon, Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  13. Congrats! Very exciting...When is he due? Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  14. You can search by dropzone. From the home page click skydivers on the left column. Then click on power search on the left hand column. You can fill in as many or as few search fields as you want...you could search for Perris jumpers who own a Mirage containers, if you wanted to! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  15. I get harrassed at the DZ. I get harrassed on dz.com. I deny everything. Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  16. Congrats, girl! your gear is gonna be so SWEET!!!!! Love ya! Anne TT2 (that is the only name I will claim) "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  17. are they doing away with the golden eagle, too or just the silver falcon? I agree, the silver falcon should stay....it takes some talent and coordination to pull something that g off! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  18. While I agree that you should spend the rest of the skydive keeping an eye on the formation and fighting to get back up, I COMPLETELY disagree that going low means I should pull low. When I hit break off altitude, I will turn from the center of the formation and track til my pull altitude. I check the air above and below me everytime I open. Why should I have to pull low? Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  19. I have asthma and have never had any problems while jumping (knock on wood) One suggestion that an instructor gave me a while back was to carry my inhaler in my jumpsuit in case i have trouble on the plane or on a jump....just a suggestion! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  20. 2001 for me: # jumps- 96 so far, half of which are in the last two months highest- 16,000 on #100!! lowest- 4000 firsts: new rig, new rw suit, first cutaway, first dropped handle...., falcon, double falcon, eagle, porter jump, otter jump, new dz jump, sit fly, B license, I am sure there are more.... next year.... learnng to freefly, learning not to go low on RW jumps, leaning to not always be one of the drunkest...... blue skies, Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  21. For my hands I use 3mm neoprene scube gloves. Anything thinner doesn't keep them warm enough and anything thicker makes feeling the handles too difficult. Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  22. How did I start? I lost 25 pounds and was looiing fora way to reward myself. I had alwas wanted to skydive, so I boked a tandem. Loved it, but someone asked me afterward whether I would do it again, and I said, "No Way!!!" Three weeks later I started my static line progression and 18 months later I am a broke, but happy skydiver!!! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  23. You guys are being foolish to think you will drive back Saturday night. Why not plan on having a good time, crashing at the Days in with the rest of us, and leaving in the morning?? Just seems like it is more likely to happen that way....and you will get to party with us! Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  24. I had to take one of my buddies to the hospital last year after a bunch of drunk skydivers thought it would be a good idea to build a human pyrimid in the packing area.....He was toward the bottom of the stack and twisted his knee when the pyrimid tumbled.... "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
  25. Hey John I bought a Mirage sized to fit a ZP 170 canopy. I am easily fitting my Sabre 190 in it. I have been told that I will also be able to fit a 150 ZP canopy into the same container... Hope that helps, Anne "by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
