Ok...here is my story! In the middle of November I had a jump where my finger got caught in the three rings on opening (I know...don't grab there!) I ended up with a huge blood blister and a sore middle finger on my right hand. It was painful, but got better....until the last month or so when it started getting progressively worse. I was reduced to tears every time I tried to pack. I finally went to a doctor. Good news: not broken, no surgery needed (dammit, I wanted a four week cast and then to be done!!!) Bad news: torn ligaments, 12-18 month healing on their own, nothing can be done. WHAT!!!! My doc offered me a cortisone shot in the knuckle. I accepted. This was Friday at 9 am. My whole finger was so swollen after the shot that I could not bend it. The swelling extended to my other fingers and my hand and down into my wrist. I was in more pain over the weekend than I had ever been with my stupid finger....there is no way I could have packed. Throwing out is questionable!!!! Finally this morning (three days later) I am feeling a bit of relief. I sure wish my doc had told me it would take 72 hours for the shot to kick in and they would be a very painful 72 hours!!!!! Who would have thought that a little finger injury could wreak so much havoc??? Anne

and BTW.... A jumpmaster at my DZ watched my opening fropm the ground and said, "I hope that is not Anne....I bet she is freaking out about that snivel...DAMN!" It was an average opening for me! Anne

Wanna know what is worse than missing the boogie?? Being at work for 11 hours, including a stupid meeting that is nothing more than a hoop I have to jump through for my school district. Then checking my messages and hearing canopycudler going on and on about the CASA jumps she did today and how she was racing to get two more in..... I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!!!! Anne

That just looks painful!!!!! Anne

All I know is that i sat on the ground all day today watching the windsock do a crazy dance. The forecast was for 55 degrees, mostly sunny. The forecast for tomorrow just says windy. If they mention it in in the foecast, I KNOW it is gonna be too windy! Anne

Joe, I think that it is DZ specific...here is an excerpt from Quantum Leap's website: ""C" LICENSED JUMPERS ARE REQUIRED TO OPEN BY 2,500' AND MAY JUMP WITHOUT A HELMET OR PROPER FOOTWEAR "D" LICENSED JUMPERS ARE REQUIRED TO OPEN BY 2,000' AND MAY MAKE FRONT RISER LANDINGS " Anne

I personally like the mechanical screech that pulling down on the toggles seems to make in Dropzone. I don't know about you, but my toggles are pretty quiet!!! Anne

I almost got stuck with Biff.....something about trouble landing on my feet???? Thankfully it appears that I have mastered that (finally!) so the name never really took off... Tina (canopycudler) and I are called the toxic twins....we have a tendency to drink quite a bit..... Anne

Sweet looking rig, GS!!!! Anne

I think that the fact that that flag will serve as our national flag over the whole competition should be enough. Anne
