    I am a firm believer in balance. Too many skydivers make jumping their entire life. It is healthy to pursue other interests. I never want the DZ to be my entires social life. I admire you for making your choice. If you can, though, I would encourage you to keep your rig....You will hear the call of the sky again. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    Protrack for me..... I conned my parents into buying it for me for xmas....I sold it as a safety item....i just didn't tell them about the cheaper options out there! I like all the features of the protrack...the info it gives me about each jump, plus I was sold on l&b's service. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    To this I must reply......YES!!!!!! I am a teacher in a school of 2200 students that was originally built for 1000. I get seven minutes to get from my classroom to the bathroom, do waht i need to do, and get back to my classroom before the next class starts. Stay on the right side of the hall!!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    My dad was actually proud of me the first time I jumped. It was the second, third, fourth.....etc. times that he has had a problem with. He refuses to even listen to me talk about it. Most of the people I work with have asked me about it once....the usual set of whuffo questions and then just accepted that that is who I am. Kinda cool. I really never get sick of people asking those whuffo questions....it gives me an excuse to talk about my favorite topic! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    I, on the other hand, love finals. I am a teacher, and finals means half days with kids, time to finish up grades, and that summer is here! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    Just let this serve as another reminder to never have blind faith in what you read in the internet. There are plenty of people here who do have thousands of jumps and tons of valuable advice for us newer jumpers. There are also people who think they know more than they do. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    I guess I have a similar story to some of you.... Skydiving is something that my dad and I talked about doing for years. I always wanted to try it. To be able to say that I jumped out of an airplane. I never expected to do it twice. My Dad was too ill to do it with me, so I did a tandem by myself. After the jump, someone asked me if I would ever do it again, and I said, "NO WAY!" On the drive home, I was already planning when I would return for the FJC. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

    You are totally right, Jessica! And you rock, too. I think this sport has come a long way in terms of accepting women as equals, but we still have a ways to go. There is certainly an element of the "good old boys" club left. We do need to support each other. I always try to seek out the female students and give them a little extra attention and support. I make sure that they know about the after hours plans. I do what I can to make sure that they are comfortable enough to come back and keep jumping. That is what we need, more awesome skychickies!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!
