I personally think that a 230 would be a better starting place for him....I am a firm believer in a 1:1 wing loading for your first canopy. Does this mean that he can't handle a 210...no....I just think that 1:1 is best for a new skydiver.... ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

It is natural to be nervous about getting back in the air....I am nervous myself....I have been sick for the past nine months....I may finally get back in the air tomorrow... You better believe that I am nervous. But in an excited kinda way. If I let the nerves win then I am a whuffo...and I SO don't want that! Go, refresh you rmemory, and jump! Be sure to tell us how things went! I know you will have a blast! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

yeah....I do find that it is hard to go back...seems easier to just stay rooted to the ground. Thankfully my love of flying is going to win...I have to be in the air again, and soon. I didn't feel this way until recently...when my headache finally broke...since then all I can do is think about jumping.... Sucks about the money issues...I am having a few myself....but I know that my mental health depends on me leaving an airplane from time to time! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Even though I was sick I kept my rig in date....on the off chance that I would be well enough to jump. I had it repack this last time just recently...amking sure that it would be good through the end of Rantoul.... So tomorrow I have to reattach my main and pack it before I jump...that may be all I really have the stamina for... Nah...I am sure I will find the energy to jump! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Skymedic and I are headed to Archway tomorrow. It looks like I will do hop & pop for my first jump back.....then wither a jumpmastered full altitude jump or a 15-20 second delay from the Cessna....I don't care, as long as I am in the air!!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Ok, girl...I am here to give you virtual ((((hugs)))) I went to the wineries today...slept all evening...am awake now.... I might actually make a skydive tomorrow!! Is it weird for me to be a bit nervous after being out of the sky for 9 months??? ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

How many jumps before you purchased your own rig?

This is exactly what I did, jumping it for the first time on jump 74. Rental gear at my DZ never fit correctly...i have a really short torso. I also ended up waiting around for gear to be available. (Thankfully Archway solved this last year by purchasing brand new Wings...and lots of them!) I now have 200 jumps on my gear....and will probably downsize the main this season. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!! -
Totally agree...it was great to listen to people who could not only sing, but write their own songs. That is real talent. One of Clay's final songs was an "original," but I think that meant that it was unreleased, not necessarily written by him. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I never did get a firm diagnosis.... AS for what finally cleared the headaches up?? I don't really know that either....I came off all my meds including birth control.....three days later the headaches finally broke. At this point I don't really care about what caused them or what cleared them...as long as they are GONE!!!!!

Welcome to dz.com....and to the skydiving obsession! Don't try to fight it....thinking about skydiving all the time is completely normal. ( at least amongst fellow skydivers!) I must confess...I am a reality TV junkie..... I loved American Idol....except I did not like the winner....I so wanted Clay to win. I was also hooked on Survivor and Mr. Personality. I am pathetic....I can admit it! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I just wanted to share my joy!!! I have been experiencing terrible headaches since August. So bad that I have gone through periods of time without driving. I haven't jumped since September first..... I woke up on Saturday morning (4 am) and I thought something was very wrong. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the difference was that my headache was gone! What a great feeling!! I hardly recognized it! I have been headache free since, except when I am really tired. I am so happy that the nine month ordeal seems to be over!!!

I have had only great experiences with my credit card company. Ten months after I was in Finland for a vacation, I had a bunch of charges from Helsinki. Yes I had been there, but not for 10 months. CitiBank didn't charge me a thing for the fraudulent charges. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!
