Vote for other - broken/wrong routed leg's strap (or other harness mal's) which makes the rest of your free fall trully free...without your rig anymore. May be it isn't worst of mal's, but most likely fatal... Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Actually I have it, but the kill line hasn't the mark so I will mark it to be more confident, thanks... Understood, thanks for clarify, what is your opinion about PC cocked after the pin inserted? could it be cause of deployment delay (the PC was cocked fully I am sure)? or I was lucky;) Thanks again Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Did you go unstable trying to pull the pin? If yes, that can contribute to losing altitude awareness. Again, glad everything worked out OK. Derek I have my friend (who packed my rig) asked before (and of course after :) ) the jump - did he cocked my PC and he said yes. Actually now I can't remember how PC was look when I had it in tow, only remember the bridle… After discussing this incident with local instructor (I was on other DZ that day) and my friend we came to conclusion, that malfunction was caused by improper pack job: My friend said that he passed the bridle under right flap (from down to up) then closed left flap, and insert the pin (from right to left), Instructor said that if there was a twist of bridle then this order can cause the pin's stuck and most likely exactly this happen with me, so he checked the next pack job (the bridle was not passed under the flap but over it) was satisfied and deployment on my second jump that day was perfect… However, I saw a few rigs there packed with bridle passed from down to up under the flap and down to BOC pocket again and the owners says that they had no any problem with deployments…so I will discuss this with my instructor in details when I meet him (especially tacking into account that I had some problem with deployment on my third jump that day)… At 600m I was under fully inflated main with my hands collapsing the slider (so, taking into account soft/slow opening of my Spectre - I was ready to cut away at about 700 – 800 meters). During this jump – not I was quite stable while trying to grab the bridle I just wanted to say that after I felt that hit the bridle I turn my head and hand forward (to “box” position) and after get prepared to EP. But on my third jump that day after I thrown PC and didn’t felt nothing after the time which I used to felt the risers out - I waited for a moment (after first jump’s incident I thrown PC at 100 meters above my regular pull altitude) then looked back and at the same time try to reach back. I probably did it a little bit lubberly so I was tilted forward and down, my speed increased and at this moment I felt the jerk my main came out and start to inflate. The opening wasn’t too hard but tilt position cased the 4 line twist however that wasn’t a big deal with square main… I haven’t discussed the last issue with instructor and doubt what can it caused…(suspect the pack job :) and fact that PC was cocked after the pin was insert). I am too Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Mine wasn't... the pin was set with normal force and as we checked after - there not much force need apply to pull it out. Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Well, it wasn't take much time from discussing your posts with guy's and instructor here till I was lucky to test the discussed action myself - Had a PC in tow yesterday...1st jump this day - throw PC at 1000m, waiting for g-force...nothing! looking back - just PC's bridle...put my arm on cutaway handle then think "not good to deploy the reserve, while that thing are behind of my back" and remember this discussion... looking back again try ro grab the bridle and pull out the pin - well, now I can say - it's not so easy! actually I didn't grab the bridle I can only hit it,,, return to normal belly position put my arm on cutaway handle again and prepeared to EP, then felt the g-force and few moments later was under my main at 600m. It seems to me, that this thread (and your posts/replies) saved me at least from spending $$ for packing of reserve So, thanks and... as we like to say here in such cases- "S menya pivo" . Need advice on a TEMPO 170 loaded at 1.15
NWPoul replied to Signo's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I think the same, as owner of one of the TEMPO reserve I only hope that PISA has made not only reinforcement (which actually a very good for me :) ) but also improve their manufactouring process since 2001 (or at least that tempo in my container was made to fly straight:) ) ;) your post wasn't too hostile for me (and it's statement was mostly right) so I wasn't hurt:) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -

Thanks for advise, I actually didn't asked was revision made or not, I want to know whether the "built in turn" issue solved with new design or not Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -

NWPoul replied to Signo's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I heard PISA made some revisions in Tempo's design in 2001 which made it more "strong" (but increased the pack volume)... Do anyone know something more about that? Was "built in turn" only an "old" Tempo's problem or not (or may be opposite this issue of a new desing?)? Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -
Yep, actually about only this type of PC I was talcking Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

You had 20 PC in tow? How fast the main was inflated with collapsed PC (or you had to cut away it)? Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

When I disscused this with my instructor I was told that: 1. there is a possibility to bridlle to turn around my hand. 2. this take the time during high speed malfunction So I was recommended to cut away and pull the reserve... Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

At present day's, mostly kill line PC system is used in order to eleminate the parasitic drag from PC and flight performances degradation. With pullout PC you will have it following you like small brake parachute:) if only you'll don't have it over your canopy before your nose - one more fun things that could happing with pullout PC :) (I had that once :) looks really funny:))... BSR proposal take 5 (or, the details of mine)
NWPoul replied to billvon's topic in Safety and Training
Then why downsize? This requrement for category not only for allowed W/L One may have "D" still jumping at low w/l and don't swooping at all P/S Also there can be a various reasons to downsize even I won't swoop...(just IMHO) regardless of above mentioned he Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -
You forgot one more force - Archimedean force -lifting force which allow us to make baloon jump :) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Why A holder can't land on the small DZ? I never saw such restrictions, We have here DZ which have landing zone about 50x200 meters (between runaway and service track) so jumpers have to learn how land on a limited spot right starting from their AFF programm:)... P/S actually you did wrote about smaller LZs not small DZ so if my understanding of your post is wrong I beg your pardon:) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Actually no I just wanted to hear what robo z is, how does it fly and if I'll be advised that I defenetly should not to try it, I will consider other variants (for example used triatlon it's has more jumps# and cost a little bit more $$$). BTW this is what exactly happened (thanks to hookitt, he has provide me with a perfect review and advice) so at now I am choising between Tri 165 and falcon (no, now only Tri because falcon is 150 sq/ft =/) Yep!:) thanks to everyone for your opinion/suggestion/advices;) blu skies! & Be safe P/S I had read this thread (Learning my lesson) P/P/S Sorry for my english Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -

NWPoul replied to NWPoul's topic in Gear and Rigging
Thanks for info;) but triathlon I can consider only as a quick replacement until I'll get safire or sabre2 or spectre, so I can't spend 1000 euro for it (for example this robo i can buy for 450$ and as I was told here already is guy, who will buy it few month later). Well, at least I'll be able to make 3-5 jumps/week so I just don't want waste the time espetially at now I realized that gain the expirience (for current WL :) )much better when there is a lot of snow in the forest:) I don't won't to completely change my rig (which will be nessesary to fly on 190) and speaking honestly dont want 190 anyway:) I intend to lose a few kilos:) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -

Well I ordered my rig with this respect (WL was ~1.25) but I find out that during last 2 month I gained weight so WL become 1.36 (It's sad cause I can quckly get safire 149, but now....) but I was quite statisfied how my spectre fly and land. Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? -

Agree it's be a little bit more than it should be but we have a lot of deep soft snow here:) How did I end up in the tree? well it was a nice day with almost still at the ground so when I deployed my main (after a realy fun jump) right over DZ I didn't expect any trobles but after I collapsed my slider and grab the toggles I was find out that I am move backward even on front risers under my spectre with w/l ~1.36! and already far from the DZ! (there was a strong wing about 17 m/s at the 300-800 meters) so I was forced to land into the forest. I chosed a narrow cutting for landing but there was a trees across the cutting and my flight was finished on one of these trees:) deep snow saved my ass but didn't help to my canopy...
