  1. Here are few..... Tandem 1 Tandem 2 Tandem 3 Tandem 4 Action©Sports
  2. Not bad at all for a first tandem vid. Just a few tips: Equipment - Remove the filter on overcast days. The rings in the middle of the picture look like those you get with a polarized filter. Better yet, get rid of the polarizer all together. If you want a filter to protect the lens, use a UV or Neutral Density filter instead. There is nothing wrong with the Kenko .45 but as has already been mentioned, zoom in a bit to get rid of the vignetting. Get some wings. Tandems come in all shapes and sizes and wings will help you control your fallrate and help you get a little beneath the tandem pair for a good shot that doesn't chop off the instructors head. Discuss the skydive with the TM - Work out a good exit count so you can leave with the tandem or just slightly before them (a drogue in the face hurts - trust me on that one ). Also agree on a time between wave off and deployment. That gives you a few seconds to move in to a safe spot to film the opening. If the TM is experienced he's probably seen tons of video guys fly around him and they can often give you some very good tips on what to do and what not to do. Deployment - get off to the side of the tandem pair. Tandems often have sketchy openings and depending upon the rig, they might experience a trap door effect. The trap door effect can easily put you above the tandem and that's the absolute worst place for you to be. The rest is all practice. Hope it helps, Z Action©Sports
  3. It's all good - burnin' in under canopy is all part of the learning experience The worst one I've ever had was at San Marcos a few years back. For once, I wasn't working so I left my camera gear on the ground. I pulled a 270 down winder on my Comp. Cobalt 120 at 2.3:1 and lost my right toggle. I hit as I was reaching for my risers but luckily I pulled a pretty solid 40mph PLF out of my ass . It knocked the wind out of me and I ended up with a bruised left foot, scraped up left calf, thigh, butt, back, and shoulder. Action©Sports
  4. I'd have to go with Hughes on this one. Not that I have anything against GSP - he's a very worthy opponent by all means. Hughes is just a freakin' mean and powerful little beast. Action©Sports
  5. Interesting - Have you tried contacting the USPA to see if they might have any records? Was your husband ever in the military? I don't know how common it was to get civilian skydiving training back in those days so the military might be worth a closer look......Might be tough to get your hands on those types of records though. Good luck with your search! It would be pretty amazing to find out who Dan Cooper really was after all these years. Action©Sports
  6. I saw a thing on A&E a while back about that guy. According to the retired FBI agent who was in charge of the investigation, her husband was looked at closely and cleared. They did show pictures of the guy and he did look a lot like the sketches....but who knows. Interesting case though..... Action©Sports
  7. But...but.....he tossed the drugs and settled for a massage Action©Sports
  8. Me thinks it's called the U.S Constitution and the prevailing law. Boy I sure hope you ain't a cop or judge Well, me thinks you've smoked too much crack if you think the the United States Constitution guarantees Mexican Nationals the right to smuggle large quantities of narcotics across international borders. Perhaps you should try reading the Constitution Action©Sports
  9. Sure you can. This is America - You can sue anybody for anything for any amount of money. Good luck! Action©Sports
  10. Now I’d have to say that your version is, well, dishonest. That was not their testimony - here is what Ramos said: Link Ramos said Aldrete-Davila pointed what he believed to be a gun at him. Ramos fired one shot. He did not know the single shot had hit Aldrete-Davila in the buttocks because the smuggler kept running and disappeared into the brush along the Rio Grande. Aldrete-Davila was later seen by agents at the scene getting into a van on the Mexican side of the border. He left behind a van filled with nearly 800 pounds of marijuana, worth more than $1 million. The U.S. Attorney's Office gave Aldrete-Davila immunity and free medical care at William Beaumont Army Medical Center for his testimony against the agents. And here’s what some of the jurors said following the trial: “Claudia and another juror, Bob Grouley, who teaches special-needs students, said the guidelines provided to the jury were at times difficult to understand and that several of the guidelines regarding the convictions were open to interpretation. Both added that several of the jurors, including the foreman, pressured colleagues to go with a guilty verdict because spring break was a week away and they didn't want to be stuck in a long deliberation. Grouley said the foreman told the jurors, several of whom were holding out, that Judge Cardone would not accept a hung jury. The foreman, whose name is being withheld, could not be reached for comment. Grouley said he contacted Mary Stillenger, Ramos' attorney, several weeks after the trial was over to let her know he was not comfortable with the verdict. "We had to go by the judge's orders, but this punishment doesn't fit the crime," Grouley said.” Feel free to check out CNN’s interview with Jose Compean Link You're basing your remarks soley on the prosecutions press release. There is a lot more to this story than that. It makes absolutely no sense that two decorated agents would just pull the guy out of the van and without being provoked in any way, start shooting at him while he's waving his hands in the air. I'm sure there's more to this story than the Agents testimony as well - but there is no way in hell these guys received a fair trial. What else is to be expected when when you pay a criminal for his testimony? Action©Sports
  11. Quote I'm still flabergasted that Yanks BANNED vegemite because it has a friggin VITAMIN in it That's just fucked up Action©Sports
  12. I'm not defending the actions of the Boarder Patrol Agents. I just don't see how they can justify giving a known drug smuggler immunity against prosecution in exchange for his testimony against the very Agents who were trying to apprehend him. Do you honestly think that his testimony will be true and accurate? Why in the hell should this drug smuggling asshole get a free pass plus government aid in filing a $5,000,000 lawsuit - he was shot in the ass during the commission of a serious international crime? Action©Sports
  13. But it's totally ok to smuggle over $1,000,000 worth of pot across an international border? I'm not saying the Border Patrol agents are innocent but, neither is the damned drug smuggler. How can you justify tossing two Border Patrol Agents in jail for 10+ years based on the testimony of the drug smuggler they were trying to apprehend while giving him immunity for crimes that would otherwise send his ass to prison for at least an equal term? Action©Sports
  14. There are a few different versions - that's why I suggested people Google the names to get the whole story. The simple fact is that the U.S Government gave complete immunity against prosecution to a freakin' international drug smuggler in exchange for his testimony against two Border Patrol Agents. In addition, they're also aiding the smuggler in a 5,000,000 lawsuit for Civil Rights violations. Guilty or not, that's fucked up. So now the drug smuggler goes free while we have two less agents and a demoralized Border Patrol. Even if they are guilty as charged - how can we prosecute one guilty party while letting the other go free in exchange for his testimony? Total bullshit. Action©Sports
  15. They forgot to mention that they were pursuing a Mexican drug smuggler who had 800 lbs of pot in his van. The smuggler beat up one of the officers before running across the border. The smuggler was shot in the ass while evading capture. I believe it was a couple of weeks later a Homeland Security agent in Arizona received a phone call from the smuggler's Mother who complained that her son had been shot in the ass while smuggling drugs across the border. The U.S Government then offered the smuggler complete immunity from prosecution and free medical care in exchange for his testimony against the Border Patrol agents. Several other officers including their supervisor was present after the incident and also knew about the shooting but they also failed to file the paperwork for discharging their fire arms while on duty. They did not know if they had hit the smuggler since he was picked up by a waiting car across the border. Just Google the agents name and you can find the whole story This is total bullshit. 16. Jumping out of planes with 13lbs of camera gear strapped to my head. Just doesn't seem that crazy in this company though Action©Sports
  17. Well, I guess it would be pretty cool to have taken that one in freefall - then again, maybe not Action©Sports

  19. Thanks - don't know how high he was but it's zoomed in to make it look a lot lower than it really is. Probably 250 feet would be my guess.. Here's another pilot chute Pic Action©Sports
  20. Somethin' like this? Action©Sports
  21. Well, Crossland certainly has the talent. That one little video review thing that him and Ryan put on downtown Austin a few years back was funnier than all hell. So far all is good. Haven't been skydiving for a while but I picked up motorcycle racing instead. Not as safe by any means, but just as fun, more expensive, and no need for air planes
  22. Congrats, man. Did you put the video together yourself? Action©Sports
  23. I'll be there - my company has two balloons that will fly all week and one of my co-workers has his two of his own. Now all I have to do is convince these people to let me jump out them.........neither has given in yet but, I'm slowly grinding them down Action©Sports
  24. Did you check the Shroeder Valve? Action©Sports
