Good advice - Dress for the wreck, not the ride A good set of frame sliders will save you a bunch in the case of a get off too...... I nearly got pancaked between a Volvo and a Ford F-150 goin' 75mph yesterday cuz some tard decided that 12mph was fast enough for the hammer lane (75mph speed limit). The guy two cars in front of me didn't catch it in time and punted the freakin' tard and the guy in front of me slammed on the brakes and hit the guy in front of him. I put myself on the center stripe and split the lane between the wreck and the Pontiac next to me while the truck behind me ran straight in to the pile. Treat everyone like they're out to kill you - because they really are. Nice scooter by the way. Peace, Z Action©Sports

***And yet i still remember following you down Hwy 80 at well over 100mph on the way to the dz one morning. Moi? Speeding? Never Those greedy little bastards in Martindale never got me though Action©Sports

Martindale is a freakin' joke, 2 trailer parks, 1 flashing light, 1 gas station.....and 397 traffic cops When I lived in San Marcos I would drive the back roads around Martindale just because they were such a pain in the ass. We used to warn every single tandem student both when they made the appointment and when they were on their way home, not to speed through Martindale - most of them listened but I'd still say Martindale made a pretty good profit off of SSM......... Yey - I have an idle? Personally, I think the comments on there are totally jacked. Sure, I think the kid could have smiled a little more but other than that, I thought it was different, and I liked it. The editing certainly took some time - not to mention how much time it took that kid to change shirts Don't be discouraged if some people give you shit - if you're trying to make something a little artistic and somewhat out of the norm, someone will always bitch. But who cares? You obviously put in a lot of time and effort in to this and I thought it was well put together and quite original. Just my 2 cents, Z Action©Sports -
You've got a bad switch out of the bag. You can check it with a multi-meter if you have one.... Sorry bro - those switches are nice but some times they're a crapshoot. I've had one last me for nearly two years and then I've gone through 4 in one month. Peace, Z Action©Sports

Actually I did notice the shirt - To be perfectly honest, I thought the pacifier on your thumb was a bandage Action©Sports

Well, there seems to be an obvious lack of carnage as compared to your normal posts. Congrats, Billy Peace, Z Action©Sports

I always flew in either a shorty or a camera jacket and shorts while I was working at SSM - Too freakin' hot for booties down in Texas. You get used to it pretty quick and the lack of drag on your legs helps put you in a nice steep position where you can just "hang" on your wings. Peace, Z Action©Sports

From pull to canopy, 5 frames or 1/6 of a second. 2 herniated discs in my neck and 2 in my lower back. Of course, the 13lb camera helmet didn't help... Out for 4 months Peace, Z Action©Sports

Well, the safety of the tandem should always be your top priority - I'm sure many will argue about what is safe to do around a tandem i.e shaking hands etc.... and even the amount of experience one should have before they ever get in the same air space as one, but that's a discussion that's been had many times in this forum. Other than that, I'd say my priorities follow the skydive. A nice close exit shot, several shots from above (not directly), below, and from the side. And then I wait for the money shot, usually below and directly in front of the tandem so you can see the funky facial expressions. Once they spaz and make faces at me I wait for the wave off and get the opening on my back either below and in front of, or from the side and on the same level as, the tandem. I usually discuss what I'm going to do with the tandem master prior to the jump so there are no surprises. And if there is anything they don't want me to do, I don't. The TM is the guy with the passenger strapped to his belly, not me - what he says goes. Just my 2 cents, Z Action©Sports

Stop sayin' that stuff - yer gonna jinx me - I'm taken the 1000RR to Arroyo Seco Raceway tomorrow to pop her cherry. Don't need no more broken legs, broken arms, herniated discs, bruised palms, or road rash - I just want a fun day at the track, bring my scooter home intact, and then go drink some beer Peace, Z Action©Sports

It gets freakin' HOT wearing a full face down there. I wear mine all the time cuz (besides the obvious) it keeps all the road debris and flying critters out of my face. I took a hit in the neck from a bumble bee once and it gave me a welt the size of a golf ball for about a week. I figure I might as well protect myself as best I can when I straddle this thing -

Hey man - I know you're happy about your new purchase and I can certainly respect that - Just be careful down there in Houston man - I used to ride all over Texas and they're just as unpredictable as anywhere else. You're right on about Chicago too - all bumper to bumper but they're still smokin'. Congrats on the new scooter, Keep the shiny side up, Z Action©Sports -
See the motorcycle?? A dead dumb ass was riding it

Well, your first "point" is completely baseless because I never compared the guy on the bike to the dude in the van - I simply provided the story an example of what not to do on public streets. Try reading the thread. Your second "point" is also completely baseless because, as you already admitted, my story was completely legitamate. Try reading the thread. Once again - The article was example of what not to do in traffic - not an example of what not to do in court. Do you not have internet access, Jeff? You have heard of Google, haven't you? I provided all of the requisite information needed for you to perform a search if you were so inclined - I've already pointed this out to you on several occasions. Try reading the thread. And yes, you're backstroking - You found out that your original argument was completely without merit and now you're backstroking, trying to blame me for the unfounded and stupid remarks you made in response to my post. A little advice: Since you're obviously not good at this backstroking thing, try the doggie paddle, cuz you're drowning in a pool of your own bullshit. Z Action©Sports -

You said it yourself, Jeff - They story is completely legit - There were no significant facts left out. Dude, you haven't made 1 point, let alone 2. You've been flip flopping and rambling on like a politician and you still haven't supported your original argument. As a matter of fact, the only thing you've accomplished with all of your bullshit is to prove that your initial argument was completely without merit. You are nothing but a waste of time. Nah, falling asleep behind the wheel of a van, crossing the center line, killing three people - You're right. It certainly sounds like the motorcyclists were at fault. I think you found a story that victimizes bikers killed by cars. It was an excerpt from the Des Moines Register pulled from the AMA website and there was ample information provided so anyone could do a search. And by the way, your "credible" source states the very same thing as the article on the AMA's website.... Fifty-one-year-old Gary Butler, of Des Moines, was driving a van on June 22nd, 2002, when he crossed the center line on U-S Highway 30 near Chelsea and hit six motorcyclists. Three of the motorcyclists were killed. Three others were injured. A state trooper's report said Butler probably fell asleep. What? The motorcyclists didn't kill themselves now? Get your story straight, dude.... So you're of the opinion that the guy on the bike intended for this to happen? I think you have some issues..... Our sources stated the very same "facts". How is mine so "obviously" biased? Congratulations, you finally got the point of the story. I would assume that is why the AMA used this particular article in their efforts to promote harsher penalties for people who kill motorcyclists in this manner....... Uhhhh, J...... I know this is probably wasted on you but, it wasn't the attorney who screwed up. It was the dude who fell asleep, crossed the centerline, and killed three people, who screwed up. And by the way, J, I am perfectly relaxed. You went off on me before even reading the thread - I'm just supporting my position - something you are quite obviously incapable of. Peace, Z Action©Sports -

Well, for starters, it is readily apparent that you never bothered to actually read any of my posts in this thread. Had you done so, you would have found that I never said a single word either about, or in support of, people pushing themselves in traffic. Not one single word. It's quite comforting that you know this. Had you bothered to read the article, you would know that the guy in fact -was- brought up on multiple charges of vehicular homicide and two charges of serious injury by vehicle. Maybe the author did have an agenda - or maybe the guy had a good attorney. So you think the story was skewed to support my position - All of the available information was provided in the story -Date and time of the original incident. Age, home town, first and last name of each victim, and the source of the story ( the Des Moines Register). Feel free to do some research on the story if you like - I didn't hide or skew anything. So I'll ask you again (and feel free to actually read the fucking thread before you answer this time), what part of my position do you disagree with, and why? Z Action©Sports -
I have a feeling Emeril would be cruzin' the truck stops with Walt if that were the case....... Action©Sports
