  1. The only thing I want to add is the following. L&B which makes the pro-track has without a doubt the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with in or out of skydiving. Many people here will tell you the same thing. My experience with Alti-2 (the company that makes the neptune) was quite the opposite. Just my 2 cents... -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  2. Don't invite people to our house, that would be a really bad idea. We are probably the most unprepared people in town. We just decided about an hour ago that we should probably start to take this a little bit seriously, so we just went and bought some basics. Like Marc said, there are no batteries to be found anywhere. Oh well, we will see what happens. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  3. I don't disagree. I was just answering the question asked. But some people would rather squeeze the last few hundred jumps out of a canopy and jump it until it blows up. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  5. I know plenty of people who sent canopies to PD where they were pull tested and declared un-airworthy. The people were perfectly happy jumping them in the current condition and probably would have gotten a few hundred more jumps on them, but once PD says no it is all over. I am not saying PD over tests, because I appreciate it, but some feel otherwise. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  6. We did an ash jump a few weeks ago and used a large ziplock bag. The bag was completely covered in gaffers tape so it wouldn't blow up and a notch was cut so the top of the bag could be easily ripped off. Once person held the bag with both hands and 2 of the poeple in the 17 way held him while someone else ripped the top of the bag open. It worked perfectly. Here is a great picture of the ashes coming out of the bag http://tonyhathaway.com/fotoserv/preview_large.php4?event=1102004/140April&image=042404-01.jpg -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  10. It is my understanding that Robin Lau is currently in jail awaiting trial for burglary and a few other things. One of the things that was found in his apartment was a rig that he had stolen from someone's apartment. He doesn't own gear and never even graduated AFF. I am assuming that the stolen rig was the one that he tried to sell to you on Ebay. If you still have not gotten your money back, PM me and I can put you in touch with the person who had him arrested and maybe you can be involved in prosecuting him somehow. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  11. Looks like another big turnout is building up for this one. Hope to see you all there. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  12. I think you misunderstood the question. He asked how many computers you have. Those aren't computers...they are Macs Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  13. I know of a case a few years ago where a jumper went it with an out of date reserve. That had nothing to do with the cause of him going in, but when the did the incident investigation it was discovered. The Pilot was investigated and he had to spend a lot of time and money defending himself. He ended up having to pay a pretty hefty fine. He didn't lose his license, but I assume that incident is on his record. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  15. We were so close to that 4th point too. Another 500 feet and we would have had it. Don't forget that you were on a completed 22 way and a smokin 13 way where your piece partner was a former GK that day as well. All in all a pretty good day. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  16. You did a great job on those jumps. Congrats on all of your firsts while at the hills. Come back down and play anytime. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  17. Thanks to all of you that came out last weekend. Since the weather didn't cooperate we are rescheduling the meet for Sunday April 4th. This is the first weekend of the annual Z-hills Easter boogie, so the turnout should be as good if not better than last weekend's 15 teams. If you are not sure what to do for Easter, this is the boogie to go to. All skill and experience levels are welcome for the scrambles. Email me at okalb@yahoo.com or PM me for details or to let me know you are coming. Check out www.skydivecity.com for more details Look forward to seeing you all there. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  19. I don't think it is an issue. I know of 1 person at z-hills who has thousands of jumps with dive loops like that. As far as I know, he has never had a problem with wear. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  20. That is a problem with almost every rig on the market. Ever look at a Javelin XRS. It is pretty much all pop top. Don't quote me on this but my understanding is that the pop top and spring is part of the TSO, so to change the size would mean having to re-TSO everything. That is certainly not worth the time and expense, so the manufacturers don't bother. They just use the same pop top regardless of container size. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  21. Alright thats it... I left the NY area 4 years ago to move down to Tampa. I have been at z-hills minding my own business and now this. All of you people need to find some other place to take over. We are just a peaceful fun loving community and we don't need the riff raff -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  22. At z-hills we have the best of both worlds. We sell tickets. The tickets are printed on a receipt printer and all have barcodes on them. That way if manifests systems crash, you still have your tickets, but if you wash your tickets in your jumpsuit (not that I have ever done that) they can be reprinted by manifest. It also makes it much easier at minfest since they just scan the tickets with a barcode scanner to put you on a load. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  23. I wouldn't worry about it. Florida weather changes on a minute to minute basis. There is no way that they know about Sunday yet. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  24. The turnout is getting so overwhelming that I am starting to seriously worry about having enough video people. If anyone out there is interested in coming to z-hills to help out shooting video for the meet this sunday, pm me or email me at okalb@yahoo.com for the details on what we are paying and all that other good stuff. Thanks -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  25. As of 1 week before the event we are now up to 12 teams worth of participants. This is shaping up to be an awesome event. We have lined up some great prizes and coaches as well. I look forward to seeing you all there. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
