  1. Hi there. Student skydivers use gear provided by their skydiving school. Until he's passed certain proficiency tests he's unlikely to be allowed jump any gear that he does own, and the choice of gear to purchase will be related to his skill level. In short, I'd suggest that your nephew learns to skydive before starting to acquire gear. Here's a list of dropzones in Argentina. They'll be able to train your nephew and when the time comes, they'll help him choose appropriate gear.
  2. She's going to go to the DZ and fuck every guy there in front of you. Get over it.
  3. Last time I checked, the US military was having difficulty reaching its recruitment targets - they may simply not have enough personnel to do the job. Or maybe, like in many corporations, contractors come out of a different budget to staff? Nice way to end a post about war .
  4. I'm sure you know this and were just being facetious, but he never claimed to have invented the internet.
  5. It wasn't quite nil winds by the time we arrived, but it was maybe a little under 10kts and fairly smooth. I got on the last two loads, as everyone had buggered off... bar was open before 4pm.
  6. Item cost: $1.93 Shipping cost: $19 Ouchy.
  7. Region and encoding are separate. If burn a DVD, it'll be set to Region 0 or "any region". Then the only issue is encoding - NTSC or PAL. Many DVD players and TVs sold in PAL regions can also decode NTSC. I don't know if the reverse holds true.
  8. At Picton, but I only showed up at about 14:30...
  9. I've had a similar situation during a 4-way jump. A botched attempt at Stardians (block 6) left me with a floating reserve ripcord. It was pointed out to me during freefall. I elected to hold the ripcord to the MLW and deploy my main. Opened alright and I tucked the ripcord in behind the MLW and landed. I was aware of the possibility of a two-out but thought that the odds of that were less serious than using my reserve directly - I wanted to keep my two chances as long as possible.
  10. Per the manual, adjusting the pitch away from the default will reduce the volume by about 5db, as the speaker is no longer at its natural resonance frequency. The Optima is definitely significantly louder than the Pro-Track - I own both.
  11. Remember the good times, and good luck with the rest of your life. There are lots of other cool things out there - seek them out and enjoy them
  12. Not exactly the same, but didn't Aerodyne release a Technical Bulletin in 2005 related to sand getting in the cutaway housing causing hard pulls?
  13. I'm shocked and disappointed that it took 32 posts before someone said "in the airplane". Tsk.
  14. I need to watch that video again.....a classic for sure. What video?
  15. Do a Search. I've posted the specific differences at least twice.
  16. No idea. It was an Irishman living in Australia's paraphrase of a Belgian lawyer writing a press release in his third or fouth tongue on a technical subject for general consumption. Who knows what the original problem was... So, to reiterate:
  17. In case you haven't noticed, they are POW's not criminals. Maybe you have to have severed to know the difference. Interesting fact: call it a war and do it off American soil, and you have no pesky oversight or legality issues. Johnson v. Eisentrager, 1950. That's why Guantanamo is on what is technically Cuban soil. My thoughts on this are better placed in Speaker's Corner, so I'll stop now.
  18. There's a trojan on that website in a javascript file. Please check your machine for spyware.
  19. I'm jumping a 9yo Talon with significantly more than 500 jumps on it. It's in good nick & it's not getting retired anytime soon.
  20. Honestly? You shouldn't release two pieces of information relating to the same subject in the same press release and not expect people to get confused. Two separate press releases, a month or so apart, would have made the process of communicating the changes to your customers much simpler.
