Hey Aussies, need some help. I'm running away to join the Australian Circus
bob.dino replied to DJL's topic in The Bonfire
Why? Mooring is unlikely to be over AUD 2500 a year. -
I'm seconding: Ray's Pizza. George Washington Bridge. Other things I like doing in NYC: Walking over the 59th St Bridge. Take the A train to Coney Island to eat ice-cream and ride the Cyclone. Go to this street corner.

...they have faith that even though they can never understand it, if they pray enough, it'll all work out in the end?

To a European, yes. To an American, no. A good friend of mine is a yank doing his MBA in Sydney. Fun with visas: if you do full-time study here for two years, you can get Permanent Residency. More. -

Sydney. Live on the harbour right in the middle of the city, and Picton (4 turbines) is just under an hour away. I know a couple of skydivers who work in the HVAC field. PM me if you want me to put you in contact with them. -
He was truely in a class of his own, wasn't he? He was pretty good with a football too... and retired at 27.

$600 * 0.03 = $18 .

I'm buying an old ragged-out F111 79sq ft canopy specially
-
A Crossfire 119 is a pretty damn aggressive canopy - maybe borrow a 135 or similar for a while?
-
you haven't seen the new tony suit wingsuits have you then. Bugger. Ah well, last time I checked Tony was an Englishman. So I'm still kinda right .
-
Weren't you the one who didn't want to start the debate??? However, in skydiving and BASE and just about anything else that's leading edge, I must agree! No wingsuiting for you then?

Pack on a cushion sounds like a laugh; I hadn't heard of that one... ...maybe at Equinox or the Picton Christmas boogie? Although, Toogoolawah does have a phone booth. I need to downsize before entering that competition; it'd be not fun in a phone booth with a 170. I'd probably suffocate

so rephrased, what should one have to do a zoo load at the end of the day - say 12 people. For a regular tracking dive: A good organiser/leader who can fly rabbit on their back rather well. A solid break-off plan, including what to do if you go low/are left behind. A core of people that can be trusted to go where they're supposed to, and only a couple of newer folk who've proved themselves capable in smaller tracking jumps. I don't know exactly what you mean by a zoo load, as we don't use the term here in Oz.

I think you've got that backwards. Sure the hardcore French fans will remember his career, but for most of us mortals, Zidane will forever be remembered now for his head butt. No excuses ... he fucked up. Actually Steve, I'd say you've got it backwards. At least in countries where football/soccer is closely followed, he'll be remembered much more for his abilities - such as that magical volley to win the European Cup in Glasgow a few years ago - than for this headbutt. Not to say it'll be forgotten but, much like Eric Cantona, who drop-kicked a fan and got an 8-9 month suspension for his troubles, his outbursts will in time be overshadowed by his abilities.

The Bag O Crap is up now: I love their style.

Buying a car in Sydney: Ten minute ticketed wait for service. 2-3 minutes to get all the paperwork completed and signed off. Cost: under $50. Nice.
-
If you don't trust it enough to jump it, then it doesn't count as a packjob.
-
Yeah, I believe Rel Week at Batchelor in the Northern Territory used to (and may still) have phone booth packing contests on a regular basis.

I'd love to see the DZSO's reaction if Cecilia tried to get on a Stiletto 97 with a board strapped to her feet. Ben/Rodney/Macca would have a heart attack. Possibly all simultaneously . ps: hi Cecilia!

You, apparently. This thread is from Dec 2005 .

Bill Booth is on record as preferring flat packing for Sigma tandem mains.

How your canopy flies. How to fly a pattern. How to flare properly. How to correct early/late flares. Riser exercises (up high). Dealing with turbulence. ...and plenty more. I've taken both Brian Germain's and Scott Miller's Essential Skills course. I'd recommend both. Scott's is more practical while Brian's is more focussed on theory.

Hey motorcycle crew, I think I picked my first bike :)

$50 registration before Dec 1. $27 slots. As much free beer as you can drink every night. Skyvan, Otter, 750XL, Turbine Beaver. Huge swoop pond. Lots of organising. Dec 26-Jan 2. That's the normal stuff - last year there was a wingsuit boogie as well. -

You could only afford to have one of the two cells repaired?
