Dytter Flatline? (Not 1st or 2nd warning)
bob.dino replied to ntrprnr's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The Optima allows this as well. -
For the ladies: the same author also wrote a book called "He Comes Next: The Thinking Woman's Guide To Pleasuring a Man".

Dytter Flatline? (Not 1st or 2nd warning)

First depends on the jump type - typically 4k or 4k5 3k 1k8 -
Was that to her face?

Only in the United States. In the UK, for example, the period goes outside the quotation marks unless it was part of the original quote. And yes, I'm aware of just how sad knowing this makes me.

Next time Christine wants to come over and take up your day, calmly, confidently, and with a twinkle in your eye, tell her that you're taking her out on a date instead. Tell her that you'll pick her up at eight and that she'll need to dress nicely as you've booked a table at a classy restaurant. Then have a lovely meal, flirt a little, and escort her to her place like a gentleman. Kiss her goodnight, then go home alone. After the second date (she'll need time to get used to the new you), take her home, fuck her senseless, and send her to work with a big, sheepish smile on her face. This will not work if you are a) whiny, b) nervous, or c) anything less than totally confident in your success. Plus sides of this approach: You get a girlfriend. You get laid. Contrary to lots of drivel posted here and elsewhere, sex is not a big deal. It's a lot of fun and brings you closer together. It's not something to be saved as "an event". It's something to be enjoyed with someone you like. We get less in every single goddamn thread that has any fucking thing to do with sex. Downsides of this approach: You've gotta do something scary with complete confid... actually, how the fuck is that a downside? You jump out of fucking airplanes for kicks! How fucking hard can it be to take a chick home and fuck her? Every idiot does it. It's not exactly a big deal, unless you make it out to be. Your new motto: Veni, vidi, vici, and she fucking loved it.

Dude, all I thought when reading this thread title was.. "Oh fuck, I haven't had it this easy since I was taught to fish with dynamite." Funny thing was, even then I had to put some effort into lighting the fuse. It's been hard to restrain myself. Nice work.

Really? The language they're speaking in the video is the name of a town in Utah? Wow.

Not a lot, since I can't read it. Fancy reproducing it here for the international community? Parachustist don't demand copyright on submitted letters, do they?

Having Americans over for dinner... Help Please

Operative word bolded . -
I've done quite a few. No big deal if you deploy very shortly after exit as you're still travelling horizontally and the canopy opens behind you. I wouldn't do it. You have to wait to slow down to terminal, then pitch. From 2k, that ain't all good.

Check the NTSB report - he landed at an airport that was closed to jet traffic, on a runway that was too short for the aircraft even in nil wind conditions. Oopsy.
-
A wingloading of 1.3:1 is high for your experience level. It's not uncommon for an over-aggressive downsize to leave the jumper nervous of wringing their canopy out. This then slows their learning down more than staying on a larger canopy would have... Get thyself to a canopy coach and work out some drills with them.

Statement concerning summer Vigil AAD usage
bob.dino replied to billvon's topic in Safety and Training
????????????? I believe he's saying that the Vigil is EUR 50 cheaper than a Cypres2, and that it's not worth saving the difference given the problems encountered. -
Good to hear. Thanks for the update.

Statement concerning summer Vigil AAD usage

If you leave it turned off, then leave it outside to cool back to ambient before turning it on, you should be fine. -
Having Americans over for dinner... Help Please

When were you in the UK, and where were you? I lived in London for four years from '99-'03 and the food there was generally excellent, as long as you avoided the tourist traps around Leicester Square. Outside London, all bets are off. I've had some wonderful and some woeful meals. And motorway rest stops serve uniformly disgusting fare. -

ELMO - Remote Camera & SD-card recording
bob.dino replied to bob.dino's topic in Photography and Video
SUV-Cam records to SD-card with a remote lens. Looks pretty interesting. Can someone with more optics experience than I comment on the lens? -
A pox on you and your severe weather warnings. It's the first weekend of spring.
-
You'd need something like this (Firewire) or this (analog).

Yup, makes sense. Hopefully Mick isn't having too many problems with the bathroom.
