  1. I'll thank you for not including me in that "ya'll".
  2. I'd be surprised if it was otherwise. That said, I'm often surprised. Good luck. You'll need it.
  3. True. But it took best part of five pages of posts, and a rather entertaining diversion, to bring it out. Go back and read RMH's original post....
  4. I'm not entirely sure how reading this thread about drugs is going to benefit anyone. There's no new or starling information here, and I'm deeply sceptical about the usefulness of trying to save people from themselves against their will.
  5. I've not instructed in skydiving, but in other fields my response would be to take the offender aside and say "You are in class. You are here to learn to save your life. Flirting is not appropriate or acceptable. Now, lets get back to the important stuff, okay?"
  6. The only cure? It does appear to be a cure for some folk alright, but methinks that statement is more than a bit of a stretch. Anyway, see ya in SC.
  7. Do you use packers? Do you feel comfortable leaving the rig with them, given the different line stow method required?
  8. Uninformed question: Is it possible that the slider grommet was pushed over the slider stop during packing, causing a momentary hang-up, asymmetical loading, and that damage?
  9. Yes, I'm a plagarist . It's a lifestyle choice, in much the same way that deciding to settle down and with a wife, a mortage, two cars, and kids is a choice.
  10. One option: Keep selling the Vector3 as the "Relative Workshop Vector3". Keep the website and email addresses (auto-forward them to UPT addresses if you wish). The fact that the invoice says "United Parachute Technologies (the home of Relative Workshop)" won't bother anyone. Personally, I think the Vector and Sigma brands are at least as strong as the Relative Workshop brand. However, I also feel that The Uninsured Relative Workshop has an appealing quirkiness that United Parachute Technologies lacks. I know that when I was a brand-new jumper, the name really stuck in my head. Best of luck with the transition.
  11. I have no experience with crack or meth, but I can assure you that you are categorically wrong in saying that there's no such thing as recreational cocaine use. I know a lot of people who took cocaine recreationally in London over a period of several years and are all still perfectly fine, functioning members of society. Note that cocaine, ecstasy, and speed are not particularly physically addictive drugs.
  12. I'm sure some people take drugs as an escape from depression or due to addictive personalities, but the overwhelming majority of those I know/knew that take drugs do so purely for recreational purposes, in much the same manner as others might use alcohol. Go out in London on a Saturday night. The amount of coke, ecstasy, and speed consumed is massive, to the point where you begin to forget that drugs are technically illegal. Not all those people are depressed. Most of them are perfectly normal folk just like you and I. Honest. I'm not saying that noone uses drugs to escape issues that are troubling them. Just that a blanket statement that "it's related to depression" is like saying "anyone who shares a bottle of wine with friends is a depressed alcoholic". It's simply not true.
  13. ~300 last calendar year. ~250 so far this year, and it's just getting into Spring here.
  14. Three lights: Red: Three minutes. Orange: One minute (in Skyvan, open door). Start checking the spot. Green: Geronimo! And yes, we do occasionally wait before going. Pilots have been known to misread the GPS.
  15. A belated Happy Birthday, old guy.
  16. :7:0 Seven on Sunday. Intermediate 4-way, a hop n pop and a nice starcrest. Spent Saturday minding a sick gf.
  17. Christ they're ugly. Squeak is gonna love them .
  18. Personal opinion: there's a big difference in the risk involved in fruit-looping someone at 8k and at 3k.
  19. I like the rig photos. The embroidery is cool
