To own a premium rate number you have to have a registered UK company. Random companies cannot put stuff on your phone bill. Ergo, no issues with offshore entities.

The specifications PDF has more on the engines used:

A UK company converted a BMW Mini into a hybrid. 0-60 in 4.5s. Top speed 150mph. 80 mpg. 900 mile range. Pretty cool

I love Adidas shoes, but that's because they fit me rather well. -
Ditto. The more I know, the better.

questions regarding RDS experience
bob.dino replied to MrBrant's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I don't know anything about RDS', so I'll just comment on this: That's still damn low. In Australia the minimum legal canopy-open-and-flying altitude is 1800ft. I can understand why you're doing it, but you really should be aware that with the additional complications of an RDS, 1800ft is not a lot of time to sort out any problems you might encounter. You're going to have to be very heads-up, aware, and decisive if things go to shit. -
Y'all really should start pressuring your senators/congressmen/etc., as many other countries have much more stringent laws about stuff like this. For example, in the UK, stunts like this are illegal and the regulator can and does fine and shut down companies for trying it.

Damn good point.

Drop Terminalsports a line. They may be able to order 'em in for you with their next shipment and save you getting nailed on the postage from the States.

If someone cracks a site they may have access to any and all data stored on that site. Many people use the same passwords on multiple sites.

Me too, sometimes... And me.

Until the owner of the DZ takes an interest? I know that at my DZ I'd most likely be grounded if I tried a stunt like reopening the door after the pilot asked that it be closed. But then, the DZ owner is a jump pilot, as is the manager. Actually, we don't ever fully open the door during climb. We occasionally crack it open six inches or so in the height of summer, but that's about it. If people near the front complain, just open your window. Lets enough air in to cool the jumper's area significantly.

If the car is in her name, can't he simply stop making the payment?

Most fun you can have on a solo...
bob.dino replied to Yossarian's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Indeed. As long as you're upfront about your skills and currency, they know exactly what they're getting into. Trust me, it can be a hell of a lot of fun to do a jump with a lowtimer. Honest. -
Do a search (by clicking on the Search Posts link near the top of the page). This issue has been discused and debated and beaten over the head with a big stick. In short, the naysayers believe that women are good enough not to need a separate category.

Social handgrenade....letter writing advice needed...
bob.dino replied to Sockpuppet's topic in The Bonfire
Some random thoughts: Eight paragraphs, seven of which start with "I". ...because of my experience... ...distribution centre where I was responsible. My responsibilites included... Replace the entire TA paragraph with "My officer training in the Territorial Army has developed my analytical and decision making skills." Replace the location paragraph with: "I'm flexible with regards to travel and in the longer term I am open to relocating." General style things: more commas in long sentences. Long sentences are bad - break them into multiple shorter sentences. Think "how can I simplify what I need to say". For example, why would a recruiter need to know that your TA Officer training was at RMAS Sandhurst? All just my opinion. -
Yep. It give good basic mental training advice for skydivers. Well worth picking up if you're interested in getting involved in a team. It's pretty easy to read, but of course, it's harder to actually put into practice. But that's the same of any book related to mental training.

Fly into Narita, and out of Kansai. I spent about a week there just over a year ago, so here's my ideas: - Spend a couple of days in Tokyo. Walk around, see the place. Eat sashimi. Stay in a capsule hotel. Visit a bathhouse. - Climb Mt Fuji. - See Kyoto. It's got more temples than you can shake a stick at. Stay in a Japanese-style hotel. Visit a bathhouse. - Go to Koya-san. It's 100+ temples on top of a mountain. You can stay in one, eat the food, and wander 'round. It's very very far from Tokyo. Use the Shinkansen to get around. If all you've tried is Amtrak, it'll blow you away. Get a Japan-Rail pass (note: this must be organised from outside Japan!). It'll allow you to travel on the Shinkansen - except for the very fastest one - for a fraction of the price that the locals pay. Try the local food, drink the different types of Kirin and Asahi, don't blow your nose in public, and don't expect many folk to speak English. It's a wonderful experience, and you'll probably feel quite alien/displaced.

Should D license requirements be changed?
bob.dino replied to Croc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dav3e Ruckert did it again in Corowa, Australia in 2001 (I think? It was before I started jumping). -
It isn't. D numbers haven't reached 10000 here.
