  1. Cooked Risotto, drank a beer and read Windows NT Device Driver Development. Exciting, isn't it? More of the same tonight.
  2. My grip on Middle Eastern geopolitics is pretty firm, and I found the movie scattered and uninvolving.
  3. Not the Fusion. Per a thread from June, Precision don't have a manual for it.
  4. It's about 4:04 right now. As he said, women are not finding him attractive.
  5. On the wall of our house is an ad torn from a cycling magazine. The rider - going hard up a steep hill - is wearing a T-shirt that says "This is what I think about during sex."
  6. From the Relative Workshop website:
  7. He may well do. The article doesn't claim that the Jonoke Skydiving Team and dog hold the record, just that they want to.
  8. What's with the slider? Something looks wrong to my uneducated mind...
  9. When, other than just before chopping, would you do that?
  10. How? They're secured to the canopy and the toggle is either in your hand or in the keeper.
  11. That's the situation in Australia. I don't know if all dropzones use it, but all the ones I've been to have the standard APF wavier printed with their name at the top. But, as itllclear notes, the pesky federal system in the United States of America means things probably need to vary by state.
  12. Requires special drivers, network connection, and a DHCP server. Not all IDE drives are compatible. Sounds like the wrong choice for this situation. A USB 2.0 or Firewire drive has none of these complications, and for a simple my-computer-is-running-out-of-space situation, it's ideal.
  13. USB 2.0 is 480Mbps. Firewire (IEEE 1394) is 400Mbps. DV footage is 25Mbps. What's the problem? There will be additional CPU overhead, but unless you're running very close to 100% just getting the footage off the camcorder, you'll not have problems. My external drives have exhibited no problems.
  14. USB 2.0 and Firewire drives tend to "just work". I use two for storing jump video and for watching movies. No issues.
  15. Hi Chris, I don't have the experience to give you advice on your canopy choice, but I'd like to point out that in ntacfreefly and proswooper you're getting advice from two top-level competition canopy pilots. I can't speak for Paul, but I know Ian does quite a bit of coaching and whenever we've talked, I've always gotten good, sensible advice from him. For the record, I did 400+ jumps on my Spectre 190 loaded at 1.05. They're lovely canopies, aren't they? dave.
  16. Whereas I'd contend that Tsing Tao and Asahi Super Dry are two of the best beers generally available today. They beat any US beer I've tasted. Budwar and Staropramen 12 are better, and there's a couple of other very nice European ones too.
  17. Yup, here. Happy birthday Deuce!
  18. Can you fit a wide-angle lens?
  19. Donna Turner. When I met her she had done 6400 tandems.
  20. Congrats on saving your life. How was the bridle mis-routed? Could it have been picked up with a pre-jump visual inspection?
  21. There's good boogies over Christmas in the more Southern states (Eloy and Z-hills come to mind), never minding other countries - Picton in Australia has a huge Christmas boogie every year...
