Expired Cypres being sold on Ebay
bob.dino replied to Gravitymaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I did contact the guy. I also warned the Aussie lady that was high bidder. She didn't realise that the Cypres would've been useless - she was buying it as a birthday surprise for her husband. Was the seller's behavious illegal? No. Unethical? Yes. -
Huh? A Cessna Caravan takes at least 15 jumpers... is this a different aircraft I'm not aware of?
-
Oof. That'd drive me absolutely nuts... How're you? Haven't seen you in a while...

another newbie question, whar does it mean...
bob.dino replied to ihavearrived's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Loading is short for wingloading, which is defined as exit weight (you + rig) in lb, divided by the size of the canopy in sq ft. Example: I weigh 82kg. My rig weighs 10kg. My exit weight is 92kg, or 203lb. My canopy is 170 sq ft. Therefore my wingloading is 203 / 170 = 1.2. As Reginald suggested, you should download or buy a copy of the SIM and have a read. Lots of questions answered there! -
Tough one. If it's gonna pay off big-time in the next quarter, I'd be tempted to stay. Unless, of course, Florida is making you miserable. If you can't stand where you are, then go. Otherwise, make the life decision after you've gotten the big payback. It'll be easier to be picky and only accept the right opportunity. ps: did the package I sent arrive?

and maybe a sausage or two. Hanging out at the A licence course to annoy the new people

Two Aussie companies, Cookie and Fibre Zone Composites both make damn good camera helmets. Cookies seem to be a slightly wider fit than the Fibre Zones.

Nice . Where was it taken?

If I follow this discussion correctly, does that mean: If your harness-container is certified under TSO-C23B or -C23C you can put any main risers you like on it. If your h/c is certified under TSO-C23D the manufacturer must have a list of what components were certified, and if the main risers are on the list, you can't swap to another brand. Correct? (Far too many uses of the word if in that post.)

I really really really want one of those...

Happy Birthday! Make sure you have a cold one for everyone that posts in this thread.

Remove the 'necessarily' from your sentence and I'll agree with you. At my level - Intermediate - there are currently five 4-way teams at my DZ. That's 20 people excluding camera flyers. 6 are female, and gender doesn't appear to be an issue with respect to their ability. Many of them can outfly me with their eyes closed, so why would they need a separate class? To protect my fragile ego? That said, I'm not female, and I think the decision on whether there should be a separate class for women should ultimately lie with the female of the species.

I don't have the book in front of me, but I believe he's talking about altering initiation altitude due to wind conditions, not degrees of rotation. In other words, the prevailing wind conditions should not alter your initiation altitude, just your initiation location. Sorry if I'm insulting your intelligence .

Nope. It's coming into summer here. It's almost 30C outside my front door right now.

Bullets travel a long way and hurt people; if you want to play with guns I'd personally prefer if you did so on a gun range rather than a DZ. We're not members of the 82nd, practicing for airbone assaults. We don't need live fire exercises at the DZ .

We have rules here too y'know. Reserves containing expired Cypres's can't be packed. I've messaged the lady in question; in this country that Cypres is useless except as collateral for a trade-in, and the current bid price is above that.

Don't be a hater. Share. And show Daddy the pictures .
